Is it true that shamans have a semi-exploit in that their AP drain ability pretty much gives them unlimited amounts of AP?
Cause... damn I can't even come close to hurting shamans on my IB. My Bright Wizard eats them for breakfast, but the IB is WEAK.
Not an exploit, they have a drain AP DoT. Casting it on someone is a surefire way to wake the MeleeDPS and Tanks up and cause them to kill the person so dotted long LONG before you get any AP out of it. Stupid gits.
This is why you drain the healer or ranged DPS guy that is not near the assist train (I like engineers since they aren't a high priority target)
Man, the idea of having to put up with a bunch of 12 year old cunts with knockback attacks in Tor Anroc for the next 11 ranks is NOT appealing.
Then call me Count Cuntula, because one of the joys of playing my new Squig Herder is that the same "massive knockback" morale ability that annoyed the fuck out of my Swordmaster and Witch Hunter is now at my fingertips to abuse like only a victim turned victimizer can.
Thanks for stopping by, Witch Hunter looking for a free kill. Let me line myself up to punt your ass to the moon. And there you go!
One thing I have found with Keeps is that if I build and man the rams I invariably get a 350+ contribution bonus. I'm also not sure, but I think I do better when I go an kill the champions instead of working on the lord. I have to test that one more.
EDIT - As for TA, you get used to it. You start to see Ironbreakers through the back of your head, and you know where to not position yourself so you'll make it harder on them. Sometimes you'll still get hit with knockback that makes you RAGE at your computer, but that happens. There's no greater joy for me than seeing an Ironbreaker running at a huge group of us and knowing that he's gonna try to send us to the 4 winds, only to Quake him and punt his fucking ass into the lava. I love it so much.
After I moved my characters to Redeye they were re-ordered on the select screen and now I can't select my Shaman because he is behind my Chosen. At first I didn't think he was transfered but then I saw his little staff sticking up just over my Chosen's shoulder. I reported it and they said to have my Chosen take all his armor off. Didn't try it yet but, anyone else run into this?
Sylanas ( From...some other guild in the alliance, I believe), Haliz, and I(on my Maurader) had an epic Pgate.
All you need to do is to have one O team with a healer, and one solo O. The O one or two people+healer group flanks and fights the couple who stayed to defend the flag. One person who is not getting hit can grab the flag midfight and take off running.
The O soloer follows behind the first team, after the fight ends and the order heads follows the flag, you sneak around behind the building and hide in trees or behind the wall. No one usually sets up defense during the flag capture, so its easy to just grab it once it appears. Our team capped the flag like four times that round, to the order none.
It was the first time I ever had fun there.
Haliz here
Yeah that was a great PG, pretty much the only one I've ever played that didn't turn into a 15 minute standoff at the bridge.

rofl what kind of solution is that?
A lame one.
And yeah, i had the problem too. The solution actually works.
Do a bug report on it tho. That's the best way to get it fixed.
I actually did little experiment last night with my SM. I found a shaman who was manning the oil in the outer wall gatehouse. He was all huddled up in a corner and trying to be all sneaky and unnoticed, so I said to myself "let's test collision detection!
Well, I blocked him into a corner and he was trapped. No clipping through people, no going around, he just kept trying to do it, even with jumping but couldn't get past. Believe me, it took me a while to kill him too.
I think he panicked, though, because if he started healing himself instead of trying to run away, I would have probably gotten bored and left.
As of now, I think all the instances of 'clipping through' people is just people going around and the lag making it look like they clipped through.
I guess if people get bored, they can try that on teammates or something.
Destruction on Monolith has captured everything up to Reikwald in tier 4, but Stonewatch, Shining Way, and Altdorf are still un-attackable. What's with that?
Here is something strange, you know where you can change settings for an application in your card settings? Well, when I tried to create a profile for WAR.exe, it does not appear in the drop down menu at all. And I have no option to browse and select it. I was wanting to do this, but it doesn't even seems to recognize WAR as being installed on my PC.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
My 32 WH gets raped in .56 seconds after i get out of incognito (that is if it even works properly half the time) and then they usually just rape my dead body.
BW are too overpopulated and i'm bored with him and shadow warrior buffs aren't out yet and I doubt i'll play him cause i'm just sick of ranged.
Melee should be able to run in, kill at least 1 or 2 and maybe die, even just somehow a way to get out of a fight...
Witch Hunters, if not specced Confession, are doomed to die before they even kill their first target.
Forget bein multiple targetted, if so, you're just fucking screwed.
I feel like I got a character to T4 for no reason. We have no survivability and when we do kill stuff, it's just barely and our damage is no where near anything that actually stays alive.
I just feel like they took a dump on the coolest looking class in the game and I can't survive shit.

No offense but why did it take you until T4 to realise that? WH stopped being competitive after T1, practically. They're easily the lowest of the melee DPS classes.

And yet when people(me) ask questions about balance, the response was always "oh don't worry about it, Witch Hunters are like, just slightly worse than Witch Elves, they're just different."

In t4 you are bolstered to r36.
r40s will kick your ass and you will barely scrape them under balanced circumstances.
When my friends and I hit t4 we got slaughtered over and over again by complete idiots. We were basically a fraction of a 40. By the time we all started hitting 37-38 we had no such problems and once again began to dominate scenarios.
So, War is officially bullshit tonight. Here's something fun for the kiddies, I was running a scenario and here's my Destro team:
Not a bad group! We got some healing, some damage, some tanks. Good. How about Order?
How about they get SEVEN MORE FUCKING PEOPLE THAN OUR TEAM? 20 to 13, WONDERIFFIC. Every single match I've played in tonight Order has had at least a 1/3rd more people. Fuck this bullshit.
EDIT - Regarding this match, when we started the teams were even sizes, and were that way for like 3 minutes. Then, out of nowhere, this huge fucking zerg sweeps our team back into our spawn, and the spawn guards don't even do shit. I KNOW I have been killed by the Order guards on that map.
Blarrg! That must be some sorta bug with the scenario. Do you know if it happened on other maps as well? If it is bugged then it would be good to avoid for now.

It happened on Doomfist a bunch of times (like, every time I've done it it's unbalanced for one team or the other) and that capture the flag one that is horrible. It happens a lot in TA as well, in all honesty, but the lava can be a great equalizer for a shitty team.
I used to loathe TA and now I'm slowly coming to really like it.
so, seeing as finals are done for me next tuesday, it finally time i pick this up. i was just wondering how most of you would say it holds up after a while of play? i enjoyed my brief time in beta-- is anything vastly different?

It's largely the same as beta, though the client runs a bit better and we're about to see our first major class balance patch (and two more classes).
The biggest difference is that retail shows how extremely dependant the game is on population and having a good group to play with. If you don't end up with a PA guild, pick a high-pop server and make friends who you can play with quickly.
Also, keep in mind that WAR is probably one of the least "sandbox" MMOs out there, especially right now. Mythic developed tight with content; WAR is everywhere and it's fairly well polished, but it's also pretty much everything. Don't expect a mature economy and deep crafting yet.
I shouldn't have any problem with desktop crashing, cause I didn't in beta. I plan to play on a PA server, as I did in beta (raiding keeps was fun as shit), but who knows if I'll join a guild early on. Are there still member (#) limits as there were in beta, resulting in full guilds almost instantly?
Man, I hate to think about it, but now that I've hit 20 I have an incredible urge to make an alt. Mainly, I want to make something that will grind those stupidass little BWs into the ground.
But at the same time, the idea of kicking the shit out of 12 year olds abusing an unbalanced knockback and a handy pit of lava is very very appealing...

I've seen guilds up to about 350 so far; word is the cap is now 500.
Even in T3 i'd get raped after killing 1 or 2 people tops. Class is bs.
W... wait.
You'd die after killing 1 to 2 other people?
And you're bitching about this?
I'm a Healing Specced Shaman, if I see a WH I go get a sandwitch, cause I know I'm about to have one of those neato looking swords shoved up my ass and there's NOTHING I can do about it.
I'd kill to have the problem of "only" killing 1 or 2 people before dying.
My experience has been that witch hunters are absolutely devastating on an assist train. Swordmaster plus Witch Hunter plus White Lion plus a heal debuff from <BW/AM> = whatever is being hit is dead in 5-7 seconds. Short of that, a witch hunter / pocket healer combo are equally effective in small fights.
The problem with WHs in this game is people try to play them like stunlocking rogues in WoW. They try to solo everything. And while yeah, you can kill a person or two like that, the most effective WHs I see are usually hitting the tanks, then retreating.
I see it as killing the tanks to soften/destroy the line, allowing you to then steamroll over the healers and casters who dont move away fast enough. But on my magus, I can usually take down WHs before they take me down if I use a morale., even sometimes if I don't.
Teams in this game are not as terrible, usually, as people make them out to be. A WH is a soft target. When they are in the back of the lines, people will kill them (perhaps not to save the caster they are attacking, but definately to get an easy kill). Even as a disposable class, like the magus who does not get the same heal support as other classes get, if a WH jumps me I almost never have to solo him.
