What is the proper means to store cartridge based games?
I currently have all of mine in their original boxes, but I just noticed how close they are to my CRT television and I am concerned that the magnetic/static field of the TV [ which it has a fairly good sized one ] could possibly adversely affect them with either outright corruption or greatly diminished lifespan.
[I have searched this forum, and accumulated forum knowledge and did not find anything related to this. Please don't flay me alive with a biologically contaminated spork if I missed it in some obscurely titled thread. ]
I just have the cartridges by themselves. My family never kept the boxes, and most all of the manuals have been lost.
One rather nice way to keep cartridges is using these universal game cases and print out covers from here.
I kinda want to try this out, but that site seams to want you to buy 100 cases at a time. I have seen some collections that use the cases, and they look nice.
I got a stockpile of 35 NES games at a garage sale, 90% of them didnt work, till I opened them up and cleaned them. Now they all work, I keep them in plastic sandwich bags. :^: Keeps em nice and clean.

The best thing is to find someone to split the cost with. Fortunately for most people though is that 100 cases is about enough to cover most of their generations' worth of games; all their NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, etc. collections, and so it becomes worth it. But what I did is I ordered the bunch and split the cases and costs with another guy.
Anyway, here's some nice photos (not mine, random photos from people who used the Cover Project:
They've got covers for just about any system, in high quality, for the Universal cases or DVD/CD cases or GBA/DS cases.
Also it's my duty to plug this Project at every opportunity because I submitted nearly 300 GBA covers and got the ball rolling on the N64 covers section, submitting almost a third of the N64 library myself. I think the entire n64 library is completely covered on the project site now.
I would still like to know why my downloads of the covers don't work on that cover project site. I never used to have a problem, but now I do for some reason. I just want the most popular cover for Link's Crossbow Training. The download works, but I end up with a 0 byte file of nothing.
As for the cartridges themselves, I don't think there would be a problem as long as it's not directly on the TV all the time, or something like that. I've had my SNES since '92, and they're all still working just fine. Same goes for the N64 games. They just need a quick contact wipe once in a blue moon (a.k.a. whenever I feel like doing it) to keep them clean and functional. The only real cover I have for the SNES games are the little plastic things that sit on the bottom of the cart. You can barely see them from one of the pics posted above. As for the N64 games, I've kept the plastic bag they were shipped in while still in their brand new boxes.

That happened to me a couple times, on Firefox and Opera I just right-clicked and hit "Download again" and they came in fine.

"Download again"? Where do I find this "again"?
If you don't clear your download history, just open up your downloads window and find the file you previously downloaded and it should be on the right.

haha... oh man. It won't be too long before kids seriously won't understand, and that saddens me.
After hearing an almost-teenaged kid say "Who are the Beatles?" I have pretty much given up on today's youth.
