Mirelurks scares the shit out of me and I hate them.
Ever had a Giant Scorpion or one of those Yua Guai bear thingies sneak up on you from behind?
Jesus Christ I jumped out of my skin.
Man fuck giant radscorpions those things have way too much health.
One thing I noticed is that sometimes if you target their claws and cripple them, the hit % chance goes way down to the 30s sometimes for no reason. I tend to go Claw -> Claw -> Tail to finish them.
I think I found the problem with power armour. Its way too small for what it is, so the heads look too big. Particularly the classic armour, in which the body is tiny, and the head is huge.
I found Lincoln's Repeater, but goddamnit, I came here looking for that tophat. Someone here said it's just sitting on top of a pile of rubble, but can sometimes clip under it. Can somebody be more specific about which pile of rubble, so I can tell if I'm out of luck or not?
Also, is there somebody specific who'll buy all this Lincoln memorabilia like the wanted poster and the coin collection?
I am used to Yao Guai sneaking up on me since it seems like the game just spawns them behind you.
The thing I hate about Mirelurks is that they are like an infestation of horrifying crab monsters. How is that not terrifying?
My worst mirelurk experience was sneaking into the broken bow of Rivet City. I come out of the water on the stairs are there are 2 mirelurk hunters in the same tiny room. I pulled out my xuanlong and started firing wildly, would have died if not for liberal use of hotkeyed stimpacks.
Man, in-game freezing has finally messed up my game. It always comes with no warning, the screen freezes up and sound continues playing and I usually have to restart comp then (alt+ctrl+del doesn't work).
It's always been insignificant places (toilets of megaton) but now I keep getting frozen every time I enter the abandoned house in Tranquility Lane. I'm thinking I should just do that little bitch's quests, might as well considering my character has mostly been evil-very evil karma (although I haven't been aiming for it in particular).
Looked through Beth forums briefly and tried some solutions, none of them worked, of course. Anyone else having this problem and/or know of a solution?
I am thinking defragmentation might be the solution, however I wanted to know if it was something else before I went to reinstall.

I can't recall which specific room it is, but the ceiling is ripped out, and the room above it logically has the floor torn out. As far as someone buying the stuff, Abraham Washington in Rivet City might (it gave me a dialogue option to offerto sell to him.)

They (and everything else in the game) sneak up on you because the enemy radar blips don't pick up anything directly behind you.
There's also something called sound, like, for instance, the sound of a beast running and breathing hard and growling before they attack.
You can hear them coming. That's usually how I know to turn around.

I love Yao Guai. They're my happy bear friends!
Except when they maul a caravan. Then I get mad and shoot them in the head and resurrect the caravan.

I don't know what Bethesda was thinking, but for some reason everyone is just too skinny. The humanoid body types are either skinny male, skinny female, or huge mutant. I suppose being skinny would be more common than being fat in a post-apocalyptic world, but would it have killed Bethesda to fix up some body types to reflect low, average, and high strength? At least everybody isn't Oblivion ugly, but it's kind of a drag that everybody is the exact same body type.
Also, anyone else irritated by how fast weapons and armor deteriorate? It's not vanilla STALKER bad, but it's enough that making sure you have a decent weapon at all times while on extended forays almost requires carrying duplicates and/or several different armor or weapon variants. Having to spend hundreds of caps to fix up a couple special guns and some armor instead of being able to get more useful things is a pain in the ass. I'm just glad that I get enough skill points per level that I could pump up the Repair skill and stop wasting money on basic guns that go from "fine" to "pea shooter" after just a few encounters.
Sure wish those assassins would make another try at me, though. My armor is getting worn out and I rely on them for a supply of replacement parts for what I wear. Plus, I get a laugh out of seeing the "Kill Mad Max!" contract every time I search the leader.

If you want to keep your weapons in good condition longer then don't use VATS that often. Weapons degrade more when fired in VATS then they do normally.
If that first picture is taken in Canterbury Commons what the hell are you doing taking pictures of my game? Same colour hair, same hat, armour and Ripper limb removal... Man it was fun.

Slavers at the Lincoln memorial will pay for the stuff, but it's ridiculously low, like 100 caps for the repeater rifle, and less for everything else. You're better off keeping the stuff as unique items in your house for those rates.

you speech him into doubling it, or sell them to abraham lincoln for 1.5x as much (as well as doubling that with a speech check), or sell them to the escaped slaves up in the northeast.

Tell ffdshow not to run with fallout 3. Fixed the exact same issue for me. (well not EXACT same since I could always get to the task manager)
does anyone know what to do with the radio signal Oscar Zulu, its a bob something (can't understand last name) and his boy is sick. Not sure where to go though couldn't make that out either
There's a drain just near that radio tower, don't forget that signal is on a loop....
People now consider a fetch quest anything that involves travelling to a point from another point and then returning to the original point. This is neither a negative nor a positive.
How do I milk this quest for the best rewards. I'm most interested in the Ghoul Mask, but I hate pretty much everyone on both sides of this, so I'd like to get the Ghoul Mask and maybe the suite too. Can you even get the suite if you already have the one in Megaton?
Mister Burke:
Where does Mister Burke go after he kills the sheriff when you turn him in in Megaton? I want to waste this man, but I can't find him.
The Replicated Man (final bits):
What's the best thing to do with this one? I've got both the Android part and I know who the Android is. I can thus warn him about Zimmer or just tell Zimmer who he is. Or give Zimmer the part and tell him he's dead. What's the best way to finish this and get as many rewards as possible? Can I tell Zimmer he's dead and then activate the Android and get something from him too? Or is there a more rewarding way to complete this quest?
Finally, can I safely deposit shit in my containers in my house in Megaton? I thought I read somewhere that a container text had to be green before it would be completely safe to put stuff in without the treat of disappearance, but the lockers/fridge/etc. in my house in Megaton are blue, just like anything else.

Anyone got any more advice regarding FFDshow? I added Fallout3.exe a bunch of times nad it still runs when Fallout does and Fallout still crashes. If I can eliminate one source of crashes that'll be great. I'd just uninstall it but its supposed to be one of the better playback codecs I think.
I keep hearing that buzz word. What game DOESNT have fetch quests?
I don't consider these fetch quests. They all have a straight point. I have yet to get the bring me 30 Rad Scorpion Pincers quest. I so far have found all quests enjoyable and to have a point. Love this game. Stupid working on a Sat. I should be home playing this.

Wandered around for a bit, got the power armor training, messed around with it. Uninstalled.
Weird thing is I enjoyed Oblivion a lot.
I guess I'm just not in to the post apocalyptic environment, oh and the fetch quests just got annoying.

I don't think you can get the Suite if you've already saved Megaton.
And who was the android? Spoiler it for other people of course. I just handed the item over.
hit tilde and then click on the actor, it will give you the code.
In the ini in your game save folder, change

That should make it global.
