Wha? I thought that was only if you voted no for a motion that passes.
204.2; Should it be passed into law, proposal 204 indicates that if, and when, rule changes can be adopted without unanimity, the players who vote against winning proposals shall receive 5 points apiece. These players who receive 5 points also receive a mandatory change in status and become "Penguins."

And I lose again. Wow I've had so many reading comprehension failures in this thread :|.

Anyways, who's got an idea for a new proposal?

And MechMantis' turn is next, right?

It is now MechMantis' turn, yes. He has until 5:57 PM EST on the 19th to submit something, and he's even active so it should go through.

I !Propose Rule 205: The Holiday Active Turn Skipping Rule

Players during the Holiday Week may !SKIP their active turn at the cost of immediately losing a chip and going inactive.
    1. Holiday Week is defined as Midnight of the 21st of December to Midnight on the 27th of December.
    2. Any player may skip their active turn as many times as it comes up, so long as they have chips

Okay, guys, seriously. Nomic is going to be taking a back burner for most of us. Hence this rule.

I guess this has the advantage of being polite enough to pass the current turn along to somebody else, but of course that would just force them to spend a chip ;)

Yeah, I'm not seeing the benefit here. If it actually skipped their turn (such that someone else became the current player), maybe, but not as is.

    !no for Mechmantis' proposal.

If the numbering is off, someone correct me, but...

    I !propose side CAR 005:

    Side CAR 005: The Riddler
    1. Any Player may elect to propose a !Riddle in the form of a humorous or thoughtful question or puzzle requiring a clever response. Doing so will give the proposer the temporary title of "Riddler" for 24 hours. During the 24 hour period, other Players may publicly announce their intention to !Answer the proposed riddle, and send a single response via private message to the "Riddler" and to the "Cluemaster."
A Player may propose a riddle if they meet the following conditions:
      1. The proposer is a Player with no current proposals open for a vote at the time of, or at any point during the duration of the proposed riddle. Once a riddle is proposed, the "Riddler" may not propose any new votable action, even if such inability to propose new votable actions results in penalty outside the jurisdiction of this rule.
      2. The proposer has not presented a riddle in the past 24 hours.
      3. There is no current Player with the title of "Riddler"
      4. The proposer is not the "Cluemaster"
    2. At any time, a Player with the title of "Riddler" may !Vacate their title for a penalty of -10 points, closing the proposed riddle. Any players who have attempted to respond to the closed riddle before the vacation will be awarded 1 point, regardless of their answer.
    3. Following the full conclusion of the 24 hour period as "Riddler" the Player will become "Cluemaster" for an indefinite period of time. The position of "Cluemaster" is unique and held only by the most recent "Riddler" following their 24 hour period as "Riddler."
As "Cluemaster" the Player is awarded specific rights and duties:
      1. When a new riddle is proposed, the answer to the riddle is sent via private message from the proposer to the current "Cluemaster." The "Cluemaster" may not answer the riddle.
      2. At the end of the 24 hour period, either the "Riddler" or the "Cluemaster" may reveal the proper answer to the proposed riddle.
      3. The "Cluemaster" serves as a safeguard against unfair, improper, or inappropriate actions of the "Riddler" and as such may sanction the "Riddler", thus forcing the "Riddler" to !Vacate and be penalized -10 points. If the "Riddler" in question finds this action to be unfair, the "Riddler" may publicly !Challenge the "Cluemaster" in a 24-hour Player-juried trial, wherein both the "Cluemaster" and former "Riddler" in question may present their case, and all other Players may vote either to uphold or overturn the sanction. Overturning the sanction still results in the closure of the riddle and the loss of "Riddler" status, but the former "Riddler" is returned the 10 points, and the "Cluemaster" is instead penalized -10 points. If the challenge fails, the former "Riddler" in question loses an additional 5 points for a total penalty of -15 points.
    4. At the end of the 24 hour period, all players with a reasonably correct answer (as determined by the "Cluemaster") will be rewarded with 2 points. For every incorrect answer the "Riddler" will be rewarded with 1 point.
    5. Upon the passing of Side CAR 005, the Player "A Bear" will begin as "Cluemaster"

So yea, that side car is really long, but I hope is makes sense and can allow for some interesting fun. Basically it will let us try to stump each other for points, and give us more things to do. It got really long as I tried to make sure nobody could abuse it or be dicks to one another.

    2. Upon the passing of this Side CAR, any and all players who have made any post of any nature and of any number within this thread in the past 48 hours from this Side CAR's passing will receive 1 (one) Nomic credit immediately.
      1. As of the posting of this Side CAR this list includes (but is not limited to) the players A Bear, Darian, kime, and weatheredclown.
    3. Any player with at least 1 (one) Nomic credit will have satisfied any and all victory conditions for this game.

I know. But really, this has been going on for over a month and a half, and it had been dying down for a while, now. Seemed like a good time to end it in a fun way, rather then it just kind of dying lamely.
