well, only the 20 or so of us on this forum actually bought EBA1. no one else in the country did, so no sequel.

Crisis KO'ed by NeoGAF long before this thread's existence.

Between EBA and both Ouendans, I think I have a hardened spot on my finger where it meets my stylus from all the replays and S-rank attempts. I don't think I'll touch hidden mode though, since that breaks the high scores.

While I may not personally have any of the songs from EBA on my Zune, I was actually quite amazed to find actual songs in the game versus silly stuff made for for the game or stuff similar to what you would find in DDR.

Playing through the game, I just love all of them. I get frustrated and "hate" certain songs, but not because I hate the song, I just hate that I can't get through it. As soon as I start to get Hard mode down, I'll probably start looking for Ouendan and 2. If I have to import, may as well order both at once.

Fake edit: I just looked and found them both listed on Goozex. While my hopes are incredibly low at scoring either, and slightly dismayed that they are 800 points each ($40), compared to importing them that may be a solution.

Real edit: Play Asia shows that Goozex would actually be cheaper considering it's $50 and $30 for them plus s/h. Ouch. Goozex points I have in plentiful supply. IF someone puts them up to trade though.

I just beat "You're the Inspiration", and I must say that failing the different sections really brings out the humor from the rest of the game for that song. Seriously, go fail (by fail, I mean get the "X" instead of the "O") the different sections. :D

    Section 1
The diary photo is daddy in a speedo doing muscle-moves

    Section 2
The cake is blown off the table and into the little girl's face

I never did fail Section 3 because by that time I had the song down well enough to pass it.

Yea, between the two Ouendans there were three songs I knew, both ending songs and the Morning Musume song in the first. What awesome games though. I love that Sambomaster got the ending to Ouendan 2, that song is just great by itself, but playing it to save the world is money.

Also, anytime I hear September on the radio it makes me want to play, that level is awesome.

I think she's on the brink of crying because she also says something like "I'm not going to cry..." while she's holding the bear for comfort.

There was a Ouendan 2... but never been any mention of an EBA2. I think that these games haven't sold well enough in any region to justify their cost (mostly for licensing). I doubt we'll see another any time soon.

You just have to learn to focus more on the music itself rather than the beat of the lyrics.

I just did a run of the song with the Divas and extended the high score by another 90000. I haven't played the game in months (unless you want to include Ouendan 2).

Speaking of Ouendan 2, I forgot about the hard spot on my thumb from doing so many spinners while trying to S-rank Sambomaster. I felt it again on the Canned Heat run. I need to lay off stylus games for a while.

If you've got one, try checking the Clearance areas at Wal-Marts, last Thanksgiving they had these bundles that came with EBA and some accessories and I think a case.

The game by itself hasn't been marked down, but the bundles were. They got a *ton* of them back then, so you can still find them for like $10.

What was the sad/slow song from Ouendan 1? I can't recall. It was my favorite of the three, and I probably played it more than the other two combined, but the only thing that's coming to me now is the ice skater girl from O2.

JJF took me HOURS to beat on Sweatin', then I was bummed when I got to Hard Rock and it was an almost identical chart. I think I beat it on my first try since it had been so burned into my memory, then proceeded to S-rank it. I love that song so hard.

Eh you basically just can't afford to miss any notes past the first couple. Stacking the multiplier through the whole song, even if you do it with a bunch of 100s and 50s here and there, will pull out those S ranks.

I've S'd maybe 2/3 of the songs on Elite Diva mode, and still don't always pass JJF. Those huge strings in the last bit can definitely fuck me up.

I left this game at home when I went to the dorms this year. I've made a huge mistake.

Rank has nothing to do with score. You get an S with a high percentage of 300's and no misses. The cutoff is around a 9:1 ratio of 300s:100s.

    Score is heavily combo-dependent.

I have yet to achieve an S-rank on any difficulty, I've got A-rank on most of the hardest difficulty songs but I just can't muster up an S-rank however obsessively I play the game. Been taking a break from it for quite a while now so I guess my skills are gonna be rusty, I remember playing the very last level on hardest for stretches of like 45 minutes every day for about a week for me to finally actually beat the game.
