    I think I am profoundly depressed

    since waking the only thing I've really done is opened my window and then later closed it and forced myself to eat microwaved hot dogs

    I'm thirsty so I got this glass of water but I mostly stared at it and now it's warm and nasty

    and I'm not even playing WoW or anything on my laptop I am just staring dejectedly at it I'm not even reading threads except [chat] now

    It's basically the far lower right of the map. You can swim the river if you have to, you'll be fine.

    I have it on my map. I just can't get to it. I hadn't thought of just swimming down the river though. I'll have to try that.

    If you go around to the south? The same way you get to Arlington Library? I never tried it that way... I liked taking all the subway tunnels.

    I hate being indoors. I hate traveling at night, for that matter.

    Seriously, if it starts to get night while I'm walking somewhere, I find a nice place to hide, and just crouch and 'wait' for 12 hours or so.

    When I found that I needed to go to Rivet City I fast traveled to the Anchorage War Memorial, then proceeded to just walk in the general direction of RC. When I came to Grayditch I thought maybe I could save time if I could find a way through the metro to RC or the whereabouts because my earlier exploration of it yielded a shortcut to Georgetown. Thirty rounds of buckshot and maybe two dozen Feral Ghouls later, I ended up in some city with a crazy French name. It's right next to Rivet City on the world map, but the map was telling me that I had to go back to Grayditch in order to progress to Rivet City, and I have yet to figure out if it's lying to me or not.

    I could be doing that right now if I was still at home. Or if there was a television set here made in the last decade.
