I'm interested in a couple of the NDS games.. Trackmania sounds like a lot of fun too.
Yeah, hi there, threadmaker. Is Trackmania DS coming out this week in North America, or is this a worldwide release thread? I've only heard of Europe getting Trackmania DS sometime this month if it's not out already, but all I can find is TBA for everywhere else. If this is for NA, how do you know?
This is an NA-focused weekly thread, because everything gets all confused if I start putting in all the NA dates and all the other region dates. It would be madness, chaos I tell you!
Now that you mention it.... I"m not 100% sure Trackmania will come out this week. It's supposed to, but most places still show TBA...
sometimes release dates get shoved around, even at the last minute.
The date I have is the 14th. So it may only ship that date and be available on the weekend or maybe monday.. if all goes well..
FWIW, the EBGames I usually go to, who are mostly on the ball with release dates, had nothing in their computer for Trackmania DS.

ToS2 is the only game that looks interesting to me for the Wii this whole holiday season
I really should just bite the bullet and buy a fucking 360 already. With the PS2 dyin, the Wii is just not cutting it anymore.

Nice FMV on Eternal Poison, but I've heard the mediocre sentiments echoed elsewhere, so I'd rather try it out first.
The thing is the developers behind Eternal Poison know how to make good Strategy/RPGs (Banpresto - Super Robot Wars & FlightPlan - Summon Night) so I would think the game would be rather good. The only real problem I've heard about the game is with the loading times for combat animations but that's largely a non-issue to me since I turn off the animations whenever possible when playing Strategy/RPGs so as to speed up the gameplay.
To be honest, I had Eternal Poison on preorder, but I ended up canceling it in exchange for a Banjo-Kazooie preorder because the preorder swag is better (free game > free art book) and I'd rather be playing a 360 game than a PS2 game (360 is in the bedroom on a nice 19" monitor; PS2 is in the main room on the baby-spit covered 20" SDTV). I still may end up buying a new copy of Eternal Poison anyway though; especially if some positive reviews start coming out.
So the Left 4 Dead demo comes out tomorrow for everyone right? Really looking forward to it. For those who have played it already, how does it compare to the full game? Is it just the full game with fewer levels or did they take stuff out?
I got Left 4 Dead from Gamestop today for $10. Well I'll be getting it when it comes out, but it's all mine.
Used the trade 2 + $10 to get any new release in November. I traded in a used/used copy of God of War 2 that I bought from EB for $5 about 3 weeks ago and Animal Crossing on the DS which I haven't played for about 2 years.
No Pro Evolution 09 for Wii? I've been meaning to try out the series for a while, and this seems like a good start.
Pro Evo should come out for the Wii, but probably a little bit after the other versions lik 08. The last version, Pro Evo 08 for Wii, sold extremely, extremely well so you can be certain that 09 will come out too. Everyone loves the controls that they implemented for the Wii version, it's a pretty significant step forward in a lot of people's opinions.
I am intrigued by Mirrors Edge, but my finances are so shot (stupid car breaking down again, on top of everything else that's gone wrong lately) that it's probably going to have a couple of price drops before I can try it out.
I don't know if I can stay up for its inevitable addition to Goozex, considering that I've been up since 3 AM.

It lets you play the first two stages and that's about it.

Banpresto only published it in Japan; they had no direct impact on development.
As you said, all of the horrible loading is from the battle animations. And if your Strategy RPG isn't named Fire Emblem, they're safe to turn off 100% of the time.
I also checked the Nintendo Channel and did a search for "Trackmania". Nothing.
Also, by surprise, I noticed they were listing games that are coming out farther in the future than next week (ignoring the Chrono Trigger ads). I hope you don't mind if I steal a little thunder from next week's thread.
Okay, so I really have a feeling Trackmania DS won't be in North America this week.
I'm starting to doubt it too. Oh well. It was supposed to happen this week, but looks like it won't.

November 18: Metal Slug 7
I don't mind. I've been anticipating Metal Slug 7 for a while, so I've been awaiting Nov 18 for a while. But there are a lot of other things coming out next week too as well as that, for every system, that people might get.
Well, Best Buy didn't have Tecmo in and they told me the next shipment is Saturday. Too bad I canceled my pre-order at EB because I have this stupid $5 rewards coupon.
I guess it is ok because my DS isn't even at my apartment, my fiancee has it.
No new XBLA game this week, however there's a SF2 pinball table DLC that's apparently good and 3 of the XBLA games dropped to 400 MS points ($5): Feeding Frenzy, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and Worms! Might pick up Worms now that it's $5 and I have a gold account.

Ugh, I was in an EB games last night and saw the mirror's edge bags for those who did a console preorder. Out of disgust, I cancelled my PC pre order for mirror's edge and will instead pick it up for console later, possibly after a price drop. Unless the demo that I got is super solid. We'll see. but I'm disgusted with EA and EB games for this crap they're pulling.

I'm not even sure where my DS is
I know, there was a lot of excitement and buzz when this game was announced. Where are the TecmoBowl fans!?

Who knows, maybe they're not getting it at all. It could be a repeat of the experience I had in trying to get "Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection".
I'll just have to keep asking around, I guess.

I was thinking the same thing, till I played the L4D demo. Now I'm torn.
Fucking research papers, man. They pile 'em on like nothing else.
That's why you shouldn't call your GOTY early unless you're absolutely sure, man.

There's always Persona 4, which should give the PS2 enough shelf life to last it long into next year.
(and Ar Tonelico II's release)
