There isn't 9. I guess if you combine them in different ways you could get a fair few more but not 200. Unless they counted female and male character model difference videos and race difference videos.

    They would have.

So that Todd Howard (Thats the guy right?) is basically a lying, douchebag prick?
Technically they are different endings though. PR spin and all that, you always take it with quite a lot of salt. If you were really expecting 5000 properly different endings and not 5000 endings with tiny variations between them (if that at all) you're a bit silly really.

No, thats the thing, I WAS expecting tiny variations.

Tiny variations based on what I'd done in the game, saving this town, that individual, resolving that fight, killing that person, I'm sure that was even mentioned in one interview. What you get is complete ignorance and disregard for anything you've done.
    Hmm, good point, yeah.

    It is a shame.

I'm going to go back to enjoying wandering the Wastelands now.

    edit:

Well actually it's pretty much bullshit but everyone saying the ending was crap before I saw it prepared me for it and the enjoyment I get from exploration and attacking talon merc camps or super mutant bases more than make up for it.

I just scored this for my birthday for the 360 and am really excited to play it, but I've been reading about how full of bugs the game is and am getting a bit nervous. How bad are the bugs? Minor inconveniences that most people don't really see and are easily dealt with, or game-breaking problems that ruin the experience? Also, where would I check to see if any bug-fixes are being worked on?

It's not like the original Fallout games were bug-free or anything, so I guess most folks are used to this, but still, that's pretty unfortunate.

Put it this way: if you've ever played Morrowind or Oblivion for any reasonable amount of time, you've probably already encountered most of the biggest bugs Fallout 3 has to offer.

If you haven't ever played either of those games, the bugs aren't game-breaking (well, not usually), but the best piece of advice for you is this: save early, save often.

I haven't seen too many bugs - mostly things like folks clipping through certain bits of landscaping, certain things failing to spawn when they need to for a few quests, and the occasional save corruption due to some shit going down during the process. It's not really worth worrying about though so long as you're careful.

I'm going energy weapons on my prick playthrough, but I'm not seeing any schematics that lend itself to that. Are there any that I am missing?

The only bug I've seen so far is the leader of the Regulators started "Fleeing" and was unspeakable, then she ran away from the house and I haven't seen her back there in 6 lvls at all times of the day.

I've got roughly 30 hours of playtime in the books and I've had two total freezeups, both times while attempting the same thing (and then reloading and trying it again immediately because I'm an idiot). Nothing that I could describe as bugs on their own. Stuff has apparently happened without me there (NPCs getting in fights and such) but that doesn't really seem like a bug to me.

    I'm on the 360.

I don't remember any Energy Weapons schematics. There are some pretty awesome uniques, though. The Plasma Rifle from the
    Replicated Man quest
was a mainstay in my inventory until I switched to the Repeater full time to go with my overcoat and hat.

    I'm on the 360.

I get freezes quite often (well, like 7 in 40+ odd hours) but the 360 isn't that well ventilated. Still haven't had this happen on other games though.

Sometimes I see random enemies stuck halfway in the ground and when I kill them they fall through the Earth (happened three times).

I've twice got stuck inside a rubble after an enemy attacked me as I stood on it.

There's also a common bug for a place called Big Town were a robot does not spawn when you need it to spawn.

The game autosaves whenever you exit or enter a building/room or when you go to sleep. as long as you keep a couple back-up files and save every 10-15 minutes in the wasteland you should be alright. I haven't been buggered by any bugs so far and am very happy with the game.

Sadly, I've learned after playing umpteen hours of "open-ended" RPG games over the past 15 years to save every couple of minutes, cuz you never know when your PC is going to say, "Alrighty then, too many bloody textures for me, good night" in that Yahtzee accent and shut you down.

    Lincoln Memorial

I never found her a music sheet, just the violin. And I didn't get an Oasis clip which is appropriate since I never visited there.

I have a feeling you guys may be bugging the ending you get by manually fucking with your karma levels.

    Another thread? Hahaha.

I've gotten a lot of crashes on the PC, but it seems to have gotten better now. I had the most problems for some reason when I was wandering the wasteland region between Megaton and Arefu, closer to Arefu. I would get stuck in VATS, unable to queue attacks or cancel out, quite a lot there.

I'd say it goes off the biggest thing you've done because i got the Lincoln Memorial, but I'd say thats one of the lowest importance things I've done and again, if I mess with Karma, I get the Oasis, which I never found. I think the Bomb is for the evil line.

No. I got Oasis and the violin quest because of my Karma. I'm playing on the 360.

It's entirely based on your Karma, not what you've actually done, which is stupid.

And lazy. But considering how little attention people pay to what you've done, including THree Dog most of the time, it shouldn't really be surprising. Feedback is the only trruly lacking part of this game.

FALLOUT 2 had a variety of ending sequences that did show the big picture results of your actions. However it was very buggy and never did run properly- lots of "WTF, I didn't do that !" stuff- which may be why they left it out of F3.

Gothic 3 managed it and you can fuck stuff up as much as FO3, though I don't remember it being as big, it is pretty open ended. And the ending has several different sequences, including some for your allies.
