if you invest in some caravans (about 700 caps) they have a repair skill of about 70 i think.

very handy if you dont want to carry around extra sniper rifles etc.

    Question regarding Vault info.
The BoS vault computer lists a Vault 76. There isn't one on their map in the lab and in my travels I have not found one. Is it out there somewhere?

I wonder how hard it would be to mod the game so that Power Armours, including the ones with no Strength bonus, have no weight to them when you're actually wearing them.

I eventually realised that the main reason I want a STR bonus from the sets was to make up for their added weight in the first place, heh.

Ohh, and a Double Tap perk for pistol users. Second shot is a guaranteed critical hit if you hit a target's head twice, or maybe only a guaranteed critical hit if the first shot was also a critical. Something to balance, I guess.

Followers. Do they do anything besides run off and die? I've picked up two now and have immediately abandoned them due to their propensity for taking a beeline into the jaws of death at the first opportunity.
"Okay, boy, we're gonna sneak up on these raiders. Just stay behind me and...Dogmeat? Where'd you go?"

    Dogmeat has died.

"All right! A Star Paladin! Cross, you are one badass chick. We're gonna go thrash some Deathclaws with that giant hammer of yours. So here's the plan. See that Deathclaw over there? We're gonna circle around and I'm going to shoot it in the head...wait. Where are you?"

    Star Paladin Cross has died.

That they aren't readily visible on my radar and I don't receive any messages when they choose to engage enemies is particularly frustrating. It isn't that they rush in ahead of me. I could deal with that. They rush after enemies that are no where near us.

The robot I have is amazing. I had to purchase him from a wanderer, but he's just like those robots that shoot the plasma, and if you get close they use their flamethrower. It's awesome, plus he doesn't need armor/weapons/ammo.

I only picked up Dogmeat, because.. c'mon Dogmeat.

He sits in my house in megaton on a perminant basis. I give him a pat when I come back for healing/sleeping/vendoring.

If I were playing a melee character, i might bother with them, but as a sneaky/snipey type, the followers just get in my way.

Clover is a genius. She has this sword that I can't take away from her, and if we're both sneaking, at the first sign of a Deathclaw she slowly begins to stalk it and eventually tries to take it on in melee combat. What the fuck, girl?

It is possible, but without a CS it's through a roundabout way (the armor adds carryweight equal to its weight), I have a mod, I threw together from other peoples mods, that do this (I don't have the skill to mod myself, so I just took what I could decipher from other peoples and made my own from that).

Bad luck. Merchants can and do carry 5.56mm. The inventory seems to change every few days, so try coming back another time.

lol, I did the same... I even located a dog dish and threw it on the ground in the house for him.

He doesn't do anything with it (I grabbed it hoping that he would interact with it... but he pretty much just stands there in the house), but maybe he gets a drink from it when I'm not looking. I'll keep telling myself that. ;)

i ran into 4 escaped slaves having a fight over a refrigerator with 12 purified waters in it (apparantly there are a couple places this can happen as ive come accross similar fridges surrounded by bodies). i was able to convince them that sharing was good and i got 12 experience... i woulda gotten more from just killing em all.

So does giving an item effects etc. mean it's all automatically listed beneath its base stats on the PipBoy, or is it possible to have them hidden or show something entirely different? I'm reminded of the way the Dart Gun has all that crap listed when it could just say "cripples legs".

    Question in Fallout 2:

Is it worth it to get my Small Guns pretty high over 100%? I'm sitting at 101% and just leveled and I'm not sure if I should put some more points into that, or start working on my non-tagged skills now.

It's not worth going over 125%, but yeah I would say stay at 101% unless you really feel you can't hit stuff at your favorite distances and even then you should stop at 125 or at the VERY latest at 150.

There is a thread on some forums somewhere that is the basis for the modding effort so far, I can't really remember where (think it's on the bethesda forums). As it is right now modding is a lot of deciphering of hex and shit though and I really wouldn't recommend attempting to make anything advanced.

In case no one answered you:
Follow the signal till it gets stronger (no static at all) and look for a sewage drain. Some poor guy was stuck down there. There's a bobblehead under there I think.

Did you notice the crash before you got to the tower? It looked like a UFO, and there are some alien stuff laying on the ground if you look closely enough.

I didn't notice anything like that, but I did see the sewage drain, I didn't go in because I figured it was just... you know... more sewers. I'll have to go back there.
