I am retardedly horrible at this game, but I love it so much.

Chels came over just as I was chasing Jack Knife and her jaw dropped.

Now I'm stuck in a fucking building and I can't find my way out because I'm being shot to hell.

It will work very-well with the PC because it was designed to work with a PC.
The XBox360 is really just a gaming PC that uses a TV in place of a monitor and has wireless controllers.

Well I assume he already has a wireless controller.

That and wires are the devil.

nah i dont even have a damn xbox
and ps3 controller only works with 32bit windows, so i could try getting xp on another partition just for a few games but thats annoying

i found some logitech controller for about $25 that seems like it should work just fine and if i hardly use it no biggie
it would only be for the odd few games

Just buy a 360 controller, it'll probably hold up better and work better in the long run.

The three sixty controllers are brilliantly designed as well.

Also consider that the majority of the games that you would use a gamepad for were probably designed for the 360 gamepad anyway.

    good point

apparently the logitech one is very much like a playstation controller
though i guess it couldnt hurt to diversify my controller situation

    goddamn 64 bit os
    its supposed to be better

The 360 controller is the best one ever. Except for the D-Pad. What were they thinking?

Yeh, I'm glad I rented this game: when it's good it's damn good, but what everybody is saying about the cutscenes and story (that they're lame) is true and it's frustrating as hell sometimes (really? I have one chance to disarm this guy and if I fail I have to go through the whole stupid cutscene again?)

Still, kudos to DICE for trying something new and different

Yeah if anything I'm glad I bought it to support DICE and EA in their attempt to do something really new and cool

plus yeah whenever you're outside the game is wonderful

Good game, bit easy. Kind of early tony hawk games but without the awesome but barebones level creator. Story is terrible. Dialogue feel like someone shat it out.

The animation is awful as well, for a company like EA who usually have such great production values, the dodgy Flash animated look really stands out

Well alright, this game is beaten and the Test of Faith achievement acquired. I wonder how less frustrating combat would be if I could gun down some fuckers

    oh well, time trials ahoy!

    I played the demo.
It seemed okay, I'd like to give the full game a try out.
Though it did give me a little motion sickness which is weird because I've never had that from a game before.

I didn't experience this phenomenon but I could see how it could be disorienting for some.

Not so much like, oh god i'm gonna throw up, but when I looked away my head felt a little woozy.
To be honest I don't really think the seeing-your-arms/legs thing really works either.

the part where the locust dude takes over the other vehicle and you have to try and shoot the driver before you get to the single lane bridge
trying to aim, as the non-turret guy, looking at that other car.. i got seasick. carsick. tanksick? gearssick.

    about..6-8 hours?

It's short but I keep replaying levels like mad to fine new ways to get around.

Combat is kinda dry but the real fun is pull off move after move after move so fluidly that you keep your momentum up and oh god the city just looks so pretty I wish it was longer.

Oh and the story is not gonna be winning any awards anytime soon.

No way. It took me 4 and a half hours to clear the story, first try. And that was with a lot of screwing up and doing things the hard way (kill no one with a gun for the whole game achievement).

Rent the game unless you really enjoy speed runs.

yeah unless you enjoy obsessively trying to get 3 stars on time trials, give it a rent. It's definitely worth the $8 just for the experiance it offers

However, I think I've nailed down exactly what made combat so annoying to me. It's just so inconsistant. Some runs I'll go through and takedown 3 dudes right next to each other

I'll go through it again and suddenly they are actually effective and I don't even get close to them. It makes things really frustrating because it never clearly defines "okay here are things that will work in combat". You just have to try and try and try and hope you get lucky with a retarded machine-gunner.

Nah. There's nothing special for that. It will be good practice for hard mode, which turns off runner vision. And there's an achievement for beating the game on hard.
