I figured I wasn't going to make it when I didn't have an XP bar at midnight, but I wanted to see exactly what would happen.

I got an hour in. Took my paladin to the fjords, did a few quests, and started my death knight. One of these two characters is going to be a tank. I just don't know which one yet.

Maybe it's just my server but there seems to be a disproportionate amount of warriors, shaman, and pallys in the northrend starting zones.

So Utgarde Keep was a blast. We went in there with raid gear out the wazoo, and still the bosses were fairly challenging. Not a single pure tank'n'spank in the dungeon. The last guy does smashes that hit me for 11k.

And that last fight was freakin' cool. I can totally see the fights destroying random blue/green PUGs though, so I expect the cries about nerfs to be heard loudly very soon.

Hahaha, yeah, from launch stories I've heard I'm glad I've never been to one. I facepalm enough at all the retardation on forums and in WoW, I think if I was around that group of people IRL I'd have my hand permanently glued to my face.

It wasn't so bad when I went to Wal-Mart for TBC release (waiting for tomorrow for WoTLK though)---a small number of people waiting around, none of whom were total jackasses or smelled like they hadn't bathed. We waited until midnight, the guy pulled out the pallet and we all went on our merry way.

From what I could tell it just reapplies the last two patches to the lich king install, so if you still have them you're fine, it just takes a while for them to be installed.

On a completely unrelated note: woohoo, server first 450 skinning on Dark Iron.

I can not help you with this, but I can tell you that I just got it from WoW's downloader and it took a whole 20secs for the 400mb.

Now the installing of those 400mb on the other hand...

Yeah I found that. Downloaded the 3.02-3.03 patch from rapidshit, now I'm getting the 3.01-3.02 megaton from fileshare.

I wish I had a bloody blank CD here to just quickly transfer my shit from my desktop to laptop, but alas, I have chosen poorly. Fuck you, Comcast!
