Funny, in my head I don't count Siren Blood Curse as a downloadable title - it's just this awesome game that came out this year - maybe just because it really seems more like a full retail game than one of these little minigames you usually download.

man, maybe youre downloading the wrong games. personally i think calling the better PSN games minigames is doing them a huge disservice.
So how excited are we for Sony's lineup in '09? Me? I'm real excited. It's not even February and I can list off a dozen titles I can't wait to get my mitts on this year:
-Uncharted 2
-Heavy Rain
-Prototype
-inFamous
-Ratchet & Clank Future 2
-Final Fantasy Versus XIII
-Brutal Legend
-God of War 3? Maybe?
Final Fantasy Versus XIII? Yeah, that's about as likely to come out this year as MGS5. At best, it'll be released in Japan in 2010.
But yeah, take Prototype, Street Fighter 4 and FEAR 2 out of that list and add:
Resident Evil 5
Alpha Protocol
Bayonetta
Batman: Arkham Asylum (assuming it's as good as it looks)
Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan (assuming it's localised this year...)
White Knight Chronicles (see above)
That's not even including PSP, PSN, PS2 (Kingdom Hearts and Persona 4 PAL releases), PC and DS games that I'll want this year, not to mention any unannounced PS3 games. Oh my poor, poor wallet.
Darth_Mogs: The Sega Mega Drive Utimate Collection (yeah, the US name is dumb) has all the games from the PS2/PSP Collection and more. Shining Force 1 and 2!

Ahh, I see. I knew there was a thread about one of the collections that had a ton of games, and I put it on "so bought'd", but then I didn't hear anything.
But, heheh. Sega Mega. Heheh. That's just fun to say.
I so want to play Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan. I bought Yakuza 2 a little while ago and just roaming around the city and doing little things is fun as shit (and the combat is hilariously over the top).
Yakuza 3 better not take so long to get localized.

I dunno if it was a press release or an interview or whatever, but the devs said they still don't know if they're bringing Kenzan! or Yakuza 3 to NA and PAL.
I sure hope we get WoTS 3, but again - if it's coming, they haven't said so.

Mmm 09 is gonna be a good year for my arcade stick cos I quite liked sf4 and tekken6 br comes out around august or so.
Both have arcade machines across the road that are regularly frequented by sydney's best.

I need a list of all the games on that collection, because as it is, it sounds like it shall save me tons of eBay and Amazon searching for the actual carts, at least after I get a Genesis to PS2 and a PS2 to PS3 adapter
Stuff like this collection is why Sega is so great in my mind, All the other companies are charging you $6 or more for their older games a pop, and Sega gives you all of their greatest for $40 on one disc

A quick googling and visit to PS3fanboy reveals this:
The full list of games included in the Sega Mega Collection is as follows:

* Sonic The Hedgehog 2
* Sonic The Hedgehog 3
* Streets of Rage
* Streets of Rage 2
* Streets of Rage 3
* Super Thunder Blade

* Vectorman 2
It's odd, because they say "Over 40 games" but there is exactly 40. Maybe hidden games, then? Or Maybe you'll be able to Sonic and Knuckles the other games, like you used to be able to. That would certainly make them whole other games. But then they also say "Full List" So I dunno.

So yeah, they share a lot of titles, but the lists are different.
I've got that Genesis collection for the PSP. Phantasy Star IV is a pretty decent game as well. For those who've not played it, PSIV plays quite a bit like the 2d Final Fantasy games, but with a sci-fi setting. Neat stuff. For the record, the two previous Phantasy Stars were more like old-school first person dungeon crawls, except of course for the sci-fi setting.

Gain Ground I also found bizarrely entertaining.
Wait, you're saying I can get Phantasy Star II and IV on the PSP?
And the third island just seemed poorly designed. Theres nothng to do there.
Just like in GTAIII.
Now thats bull, the third island had plenty to do and it was distinctive to, not just depressingly drab warehouses and rundown buildings, virtually all of which you can't interact with.
All I remember about the third island is chasing that Latino girl who shows up in San Andreas for the final mission, Oh, also the mission where you have to lead gang members to a trap, and Asuka's Yakuza henchmen would blow them all away. I liked that one.
Edit: Alderney in IV is a helluva lot better. I'm always zipping over there to pick up my Sultan, doing some jumps, drivin' by the titty bar. And with multiplayer you end up spending a lot of time down there, just doin' races and deathmatches and Deal Breaker.

I just inserted a pen drive into my PS3, to copy some music. The folders with the artist names are appearing, but when I tried to copy the albums I got a message saying there were no tracks. I opened the folders and sure enough, they're empty. I selected information from the triangle menu and that shows the number of tracks and size all correctly, but I can't seem to access the tracks. What's up?

An unsupported codec, probably. It happens sometimes.

They're all mp3s. The same files were recognized before, a couple of them, at least.

Lttp, but I finally tracked down a nice shiny new copy of Uncharted last night. Been hanging onto my Futureshop giftcards specifically for this. Today I will be crackin' that sucker open, I'm preparing myself for a good time, since my previous experience with the game has been limited to the demo. I hear the demo is not a good representation of the full game....I'll admit, I'm a bit excited.:^:

Does anyone else think that the Sega Mega Collection should have an option that it can be installed on the HD so you can play the games without the disk? I think that would be excellent.

Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!
You still have to have the disc in. I don't think they would do that, unless it's unlocked by a code or something that works once though. You see, people would download it to the drive, and then return/sell the game to a Gamestop, and Sega sells a few copies new, and Gamestop gets a ton of used game sells

Fuck man, I thought it was going to be a psn/xbl thing. I hate having to insert discs for quick play games like this.
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

You can install the game to help silence the disc drive, but you still need the disc in the drive.
If the PS3 made game installing available, it'd probably require the discs as well. Those swashbucklin' scurvy-dog pirates would make sure of that.
