This is the first comic I saw that got me hooked on PA:
There's just a combination between the art and the meter of the writing that they have always been able to achieve. If you can read it and understand the pace at which the dialogue is delivered, it is amazing.
This was my first comic as well. I went through the archives that day. I didn't get shit done that day. It was a good day.
I'm gonna find my favorite and post it in just a moment.
Seriously, how can you not love that helpful little guy.
On another note, grats to PA... keeping a comic running for 10 years and still being funny would drive most people insane (I'm looking at you, Bill Watterson)

Cap cracks me up every time I read this one. He really does hate the dollar sign, doesn't he?

I've always wondered what Brenna used a whole box of Q-tips for.
I've also always wondered what anyone uses any number of Q-tips for.
If you say ear-cleaning than those people are stupid; that's like using a plunger to dig a hole.

She thought that FF fucked her ear canal.

Cleaning your ears does not involve ramming a Q-Tip repeatedly into your ear drum unless you are an idiot. I take this to mean your ears are waxen caverns, their pungent stalactites lancing the dessicated carcasses of wayward insects and small animals.

The small animals in my ear canals are alive and well, thank you.
One of my favorite things about PA is how well the title usually works in conjunction with the strip. One of my favorite examples was "On the Matter of Gay Space Frogs" - like, you know, gay space frogs were something kind of important that they were eventually going to have to deal with anyway. Something about it just played off the comic itself so well that it really added something to it and it's always been one of my favorites. "What, Indeed" was another good example of smart use of the title - it's something they could just blow off (nov2108.jpg) but instead they add a little bit more subtle humor with it.
I also like the ones where they play with the conventions of the strip. This one (linked because it's kind of huge) is another one of my favorites, just because it takes something so mundane and, just by altering the text, turned it into something completely hilarious. For most cartoonists this would have turned out pretty boring and seemed unimaginative, but with PA, it works.
Does anyone remember the one where they I think Tycho is talking about how there's someone in every group of friends that is the focus of all the jokes and gets left with the bill at restaurants. I know he was called something monkey, used to have a article on the front page.
Man, I remember there was a photoshop contest or something once that involved altering a picture of Gabe and Tycho for all sorts of hijinks. I thought is was a Photoshop Phriday thing over at SA, but I don't see it there. Anyone remember where it was?

Safety Monkey. He was in a few other comics too.
That was it. I just couldn't recall the name. I love that strip.
I like how this is the only time Gabe has said that many smart words at once.
It's like he's trying to talk like Tycho in order to placate him.

My first PA...I think that one was either Catapult, or the one where the cat is sleeping on Gabe's monitor and slides off panel-by-panel. One of the ones with the cat in background action, anyway.
My first PA was the first one they ran in OPM, whichever that was. I think I was like nine or ten years old (99 or 2000). Then I remembered them when I was 13 or so and googled them, and came to this site. I feel that the way I spend my free time and my opinions on a huge range of subjects are vastly different than they'd have been if OPM had never ran those comics.

This is one I've always appreciated for it's casual cruelty.
I can't find the one where someone tries to jack Gabe's shoes in-game. That had me laughing pretty hard.

I was reading through the the English class strips. I must have missed this one before:
"Rainbow!!!"
It's one of my favorites. I even have the T-shirt.
I miss a lot of the old regular guest stars. This thread reminds me there's a lot of characters we haven't seen in forever.
