yeah, scrounger hasn't really felt all that needed. fortune is pretty good, though.

I dunno what to do with my 53k caps.

I'm pretty sure Fortune Finder was a waste.

I know. I just wish I could mod it to make it harder without having to do something that is either insane or retarded.

Fighting a Deathclaw on Very Hard under those circumstances is both.

Scrounger was needed for me from level 8-16 since my guy's weapons skills were shit.

I'd say play horde mode Xen but you can't.

    :(

The game is great though. Even though most enemies that I come across get their heads popped...every so often the game gets vindictive...as if seeking revenge on me.

The worst was when two enclave patrol's found me out in the middle of the wastes while I was finishing up a bunch of regulators. That was a tense moment for me. So I wouldn't say the game is to easy on very hard. I'd just like the option to make it a bit more sadistic.

I don't know, taking on a deathclaw in unarmed at a low level seems plausible, you'd just need to do it right.

    How fun is unarmed?

I'm lazy and don't like to worry about ammo and weapon condition.

From the Fag and Tea thread:
I have an unarmed monk character. Scribe's robe, tesla helmet.

Dodging minigun fire, jumping on a rock, flying into the air and fisto-ing a supermutant is the best thing. All jacked up on Ultrajet, Psycho, med-x, and Buffout.

I may end up trying this on my second run through...

Right out of the Vault. Time to find me a deathclaw.

you know i might really get into the modding of this game

because there's a bunch of tiny things that bug me and they are mostly math things

    Food heals for nothing.
You have like 99% DR in VATS.
VATS is worthless at long range with long-range weapons
Guns shoot about 1/4 the speed they should

    etc

I like the massive dodge rating in VATS, because until you hit absurd levels it is easily countered by the fact that every enemy every has insane accuracy at any range and do huge damage when you are out of it.

something shifted around level 8 or 9, and now I have way too much ammo (5.52, .32, shotgun and 10mm, still hurting on .44 and .302 or whatever), the lincoln repeater, a scoped magnum and sidney's submachine gun and seriously just blow through anything as quickly as I want to. it's fairly absurd, fights take exactly as long as the ammo I'm willing to use.

I'm so ammo conservative I leveled my skills before even thinking about using heavy weapons.

but man that minigun is fun.

I never pack enough shotgun shells

but that's mainly because the combat shotgun is pretty much the only weapon I use

I have a weapon hierarchy. The named assault rifle is used first. Then the Lincoln repeater. Then the shotgun. Then I go back to town and stock back up. Rinse/repeat.

The laser minigun seems a bit ridiculous to me really. Other than that though, of the heavy weapons I do enjoy the flame thrower quite a bit more that I ought to.

I haven't gotten the lincoln repeater on my small arms character, but that's pretty much going to be the order I use them in as well. combat shotgun is so awesome at close range.

I don't really use 'em either, but every once in awhile I'll pick up a heavy weapon from a dead raider and just go nuts with it for awhile. My heavy weapons skill sucks though, so not really all the effective...but damn fun.

    They use it up, right?

Like it doesn't just activate it and they magically reuse the same 3 bullets?

Honestly, followers in this game just feels like more of a hassle.

It has the advantage of being awesome.

The Kneecapper is only 5 damage points worse than The Terrible Shotgun, and get's benefits from Gunslinger while the normals get neither Gunslinger or Commando.

e: I probably should have found a way to seperate the ammo comment and my disdain for followers. They weren't really connected. The first part was an honest question!
