I've been getting some laggy matches on PSN lately, with assholes teleporting across the room or throwing three fireballs at a time. Is anyone else being affected? Is there a workaround (such as avoid quick match and join a custom one instead)?
Either way, the game could use a patch stat. E Honda is way too overpowered, in my opinion.
Yeah I have noticed this too, you start walking forward because they're just standing there only to find a fireball in your face or claw throwing you. There really needs to be a way to see what your ping is in game, it's kind of ridiculous.
Honda is stupidly strong too, especially against projectile characters, not so much because jab torpedo can go through the projectile and hit you but every projectile is a free 1/5 or whatever super bar charge he gets off torpedoing. It's really easy to get 2 supers off in the same round just torpedoing through fireballs and hand slapping against someone's block, which also does good damage.

If I'm beating people more often with Honda when I don't know any real strategy with him past spamming his special moves, then something is wrong. Chip damage on 100 hand slap is huge!

I usually play as Ryu and I'm decent, however I usually get much worse as it gets later in the night. Beer certainly doesn't help you in this game.

Single elimination, best two out of three with three round matches. I don't think you can create private rooms, so we will just have to make two person rooms and send invites.
I would imagine character switching is allowed - I just didn't.

honda is easy to be good enough with to smash scrubs, but its pretty easy to be that good with any character. honda's scrub annihilating techniques are just a little easier to execute than some other peoples. put your nub honda up against someone of moderate skill and see how that works out before you go calling balance issues.
Already done? I got fairly close to beating you and that other guy which I never do and that was just spamming jab headbutt. His headbutt has priority of so much stuff, unless you're coming in with something like cammy's strong punch you're just going to eat it. That and his super is effective anti air and ground, goes through fireballs and almost always hits for full damage.

I think fireballers can still beat him fairly soundly if they just execute well but he's much stronger than he was in Turbo. Though I do think some of his hitboxes aren't working quite as intended. He's not Akuma or anything though, and I think this game was balanced for tournament level play, not what you generally find online.

there are people playing all the time on the PSN, i never have problems finding games to get into or anything. its just the PA crew is extremely slanted towards the 360.

Uh, dav3yb and I thought that his connection was just being temperamental. He disconnected from the room three times in about 20 minutes, but not from LIVE. It was always on the black screen after the VS splash too. Maybe LIVE is having issues. At least it waited until after we got our tourney games in.

i get disconnected like this all the damn time on the PS3 one. VS splash, hang on the black screen, connection lost. its intensely annoying, and i know my connection isnt shady in general. it works flawlessly for everything else. i dunno SSF2THRD seems to just hate my connection sometimes.

No, but we got about a dozen matches in that worked just fine. There were just a few that the game decided it didn't like. It was also interesting that he was losing the connection and I was staying in the room every time.
