So I'm some new to this entire genre, and particularly Street Fighter, but am itching to give it a try. Is this game a good introduction or is the Live crowd too hardcore for someone new at this?
I don't know how the tournament is progressing, but if someone else needs to drop out I'd take their place. I don't know if I'm any good at this game, I play as gief, and have been msg'd good games, and have a 5#-3# record. Sometimes though, it feels like I"m just spassing buttons and getting lucky with the SPD. Other times, I feel like I was always getting off what I wanted to. I beat alot of Ken and Ryu players though. But I really do feel like I'm getting lucky alot of the time.

Pick it up I suck too.
Eh, why not. Guess I didn't need much encouraging. I'll probably pick it up tomorrow night and hopefully we can get a party of guys who suck going.
...In the meantime, I'll think of a better way to phrase that.

check out the videos in the OP that are made by sirlin, they are for super turbo but 95% of the stuff in the videos is relevant here
press guide, look at the party, you'll see your speaker icon has little lines on it. it means your mic is constantly on, and I can constantly hear static. maybe it's not plugged in all the way?
._. you can easily look at the party list to see who's talking. flash, you're not talking constantly, but when you do it gives reverb of what other people are saying.

Uh, dav3yb and I thought that his connection was just being temperamental. He disconnected from the room three times in about 20 minutes, but not from LIVE. It was always on the black screen after the VS splash too. Maybe LIVE is having issues. At least it waited until after we got our tourney games in.
Whenever this starts happening, or at least lag in a game, i keep thinking "what if its me," at which point i start going over my connection stuff... making use one of my other computers doesnt have torrents or some other big download going. I've also got gigabit out to the net, so at the point i realize its probably not me, i figure its either live, some hop i have to make to get to the other guy, or the other guy. I really wish you could see a connection status of everyone in the room. or atleast how well you connect to them. sometimes if a join a nice low ping game, and that host leaves, ill make note of the new hosts name, and looking at the server browser again i see ive got a 200 ping to him. they really should just list it out for you.

And anybody with a charged motion super, I just gave up with. The vs games made it easy with everybody having a QCFX2 motion, and thats what I've mostly played.
