I don't get why scary movies are scary movies. What's the difference between a horror movie and a 'drama'? Silence of the Lambs had some scary shit in it but people would consider it a drama. Anton Chigur was a pretty scary character but that movie isn't a horror.
Is it just fictionalized things that make it a horror? Unrealistic thrillers? I don't know.
Anyways horror movies are pretty cool. The Orphanage was the last good new scary movie I saw. I want to see Prince of Darkness soon.
[REC] Was pretty good too. I never saw Quarantine though.
i used to go get a cup of water at nights and just stare out into my backyard where it was all woods and expect some mike myers type guy to come out and walk towards me

I don't like to watch scary movies because my memory really holds on to stuff like that. My childhood was screwed up because of the scene by scene remakes of movies that would haunt my dreams each night after seeing a scary movie or reading a horror story
Which is a bitch because I have a starring role in Saw 6
Recently I was reading a story about a murderer who was basically trying to copy Jack the Ripper and I had a nightmare about it a week later but didn't realize it was that same fucking story until I was trying to recall all the information to a friend
Saw isn't horror it's just gorn. Yes, that was a portmanteau of gore and porn. I know, it was terrible.
Okay well actually Saw 1 was decent in its own way but the delicate balance between shock, intrigue and mindgames was shattered with the entirely derivative and utterly banal sequels.

Gorn? Sounds more like Hostel than Saw really.
Seriously one of the shittiest films I have ever seen.
Given it's a modern horror film but God damn it was bad.

I was honestly starting to think that I was the only person who thought this.

I wanna see an old style zombie flick with just regular magically undead people.

my power went out at work last night because of a snowstorm.
i had to wait in the total dark for like an hour until beavs came and got me
i kept expecting someone to emerge from the dark and get me
being scared can be a fantastic adrenaline rush!
I'm the same way, yet I still see any horror flick that looks pretty terrifying.
I think I have a problem.
I can handle scary movies, but I lose sleep over horror flicks.
Shit, I can't even watch the Saw series without getting physically ill.

the Serpent and the Rainbow is a pretty good zombie flick
See, that's what I dislike about the horror genre.
Hollywood turned it from films that are genuinely scary as fuck, into a genre of torture porn.
Like how Repo is being categorized as horror. This movie is about music and gore, not being scary, people need to label movies better.
Could just be the hot guys but the outfits make me happy
Watch the Strangers ... alone ... at night. Good luck going to sleep.

not because they terrify me, but as Goatmon says they're just torture for titillation's sake
they are terrible films

From what I hear the first one was actually pretty decent if you can stomache it, while the rest are just pure TP.
The only one I ever saw much of was Saw IV, which is indeed just gore upon gore for the sake of being disgusting.
Fuck that mess.
never been a big wes craven fan, but i'll have to look into this.
These dudes right here. Best horror/sci-fi flicks ever.
Pitch Black was also pretty decent and enjoyable!
hey have you ever seen Eraserhead
ahhahahah oh fuck
No now shut up before I flex my muscles at you.
