credo mobile and sprint cell phone service
World as Mytha breezy way to annoy serious peopleRegistered Userregular
so I recently lost my first gen iphone and had three days of total bureaucratic bullshit from at&t when trying to replace it. I finally succeeded tonight, but I'm still not done holding a grudge about the whole experience. I've been subscribed to the credo mobile newsletter for six months or so now, and I like their progressive message -- plus almost all of their newsletters are about how shitty at&t is politically and socially, which doesn't make me feel too hot about giving them $105 a month for this stupid iphone. and it doesn't hurt that credo is willing to buy out your contract up to $200 (at&t's early termination fee is $175).
I've read credo's site top to bottom and it doesn't sound bad. the plans are a little pricey (still not nearly as bad as the iphone plan, however) and the phones aren't as cool (the lg rumor looks like what I'd go for), but what worries me most is the fact that their service is provided by sprint. I've heard only bad things about sprint's wireless service in the past, but I think I mostly heard it from people who had it three years ago.
so my question is twofold:
- does anyone here use credo? what do you think?
- does anyone have anything to say about sprint-nextel's coverage?
I use Sprint. I've never had a problem with their coverage outside of the hinterlands of Northern California, and most cell phone companies don't cover there. It's not as good as Verizon, but where is? And I've been told by friends that Sprint is hella reliable. Like, as long as you've got one bar, you don't have any problems. This has been my experience, as well.
You really should ask some people living around where you are about the coverage there, but I can't imagine it being bad. Sucks about your iPhone, though.
Honestly, the only bad thing I've ever heard about Sprint is that their customer service sucks even more than most other cell phone companies' service, and you'd be going through Credo, it sounds like, so you wouldn't even have to worry about that.
