I finally got them to shut up their stupid claims of "TCS and ASM make you faster at driving!". And I haven't been back since.

    Ahahaha. What

Kept going on and whining and out-endurancing me at their claim that you'll always be faster with ASM and TCS turned on in GT4. Then they had that hot-lap challenge with a stock Mustang GT at Laguna Seca. The fastest laps they came up with without ASM and TCS were usually several seconds behind the fastest they did with them. My fastest lap with ASM and TCS turned on was several seconds behind their slowest times, and my time with them turned off was several seconds faster than the thread record. At that point the biggest proponent of ASM/TCS still insisted he was right he just couldn't explain what happened or something.

Logically, if you're doing it right, then TCS and ASM shouldn't be kicking in at all. They're there to limit the effect of your mistakes.

Actually, if you're doing it right ASM and TCS will stop you from doing it right. The fastest lines are only accessible through the right amount of slipping.

Depends how aggressive the system is. I know that TVR's and Lotus' systems don't kick in until the car is basically on the verge of spinning.

EDIT: I always turned them off for GT, so I don't know how it works in-game.

They're adjustable, and you could basically try to adjust them to counter your particular lack of skill in the same way you tune suspension to suit your style of driving. But the way they kick in, they will always slow you down when they kick in.

Working tickets that are supposed to be sent to national is giving me a headache. I love asking a rep what the ticket was for, when they can't tell me, and they didn't bother to put the information into the ticket, as to what needs fixed. Especially when looking at the account nothing is wrong. They get really annoyed when I tell them to call the sub back and do their damned job.

Seriously. It's to the point right now where I'd rather just read other forums about games that I don't even post on than actually "discuss" things there.
I read GnT for the OPs, there's usually some effort put in those. Also: MMO forum for the silly pictures and for whatever games I'm currently playing.

And my own threads, of course. Those are always remarkably sane.

I sort of thought I should report it, but it's so unexpected and bizarre I couldn't bring myself to.

Maybe it'll get moved to SE++

Not when they involve fucked up dreams. God of War you at least know what to expect, with naps you can never be sure. I recommend no sleeping ever.

That video games design course was awesome. Seriously, it was nerd heaven. We ended up getting a talk from Ernest Adams, who was the lead developer of Dungeon Keeper.

Also, I got up the confidence to talk to one of the girls there and I think she liked me and that makes me giddy. There were three girls there out of 167 people...
