Probably because people are posting pictures of character models that are over four years old, with an extremely low polygon count compared to what Blizzard can pull off these days
The character models haven't aged well, but the environments are a completely different story. Not to mention some of the new gear sets do a pretty decent job of disguising how ugly the various races look.
Blizzard has the ability to improve the way characters look, as recently demonstrated by Sylvanas' new design a month before Wrath launched.
Well no one can say blizzard doesn't have its priorities in weird places.

In fairness, the new models look really damn good and it's pretty obvious they spent a lot of work on them. So yes, you can say they've been slack about it in the past. But you can't say they're being slack about it now.

I really, seriously doubt blizzard is making as much money as people seem to think they are. They're definitely making bank, but everyone seems to believe they just make pure profit from those subscription fees.
They definitely cut corners. Absolutely zero argument there. But I don't believe it's because they're lazy or aren't putting enough money into it.

WoW is very well polished, but I think some things like how pointless and lame looking the faction leaders are is just inexcusable. I mean, even DAoC as able to pull off a major graphics overhaul of their entire game... If a then independant game company like Mythic could pull something huge like that, surely they can do something equally impressive. =/
Well, in their defense, part of the reason Sylvanas got a new model was because, since launch, many players were complaining that it was incorrect. She had a Night Elf model but was actually a High Elf.
So, next to her old look being hideous, they did have some lore reason to make her more of a badass
Yes but why did they have to be lazy assholes and make Alextrasza a copy of her but look even more skimpy? That always grates on my nerves, I liked how she looked with simply being a normal looking blood elf... well, a very big one but still. She was dressed in elegant robes just as all the ambassadors were. They should have left the uber new model to her dragon form, instead of making her Alexstrasza, Aspect of the Slut.
dragons are well known for their promiscuity. remember how they were always stealing maidens and damsels? yah, those werent political kidnappings. those were unf unf kidnappings.

Well, the red dragonflight is tied to creation and life, so it makes sense that their queen would be dressed in a manner that encourages feelings and emotions that may lead to one wanting to engage in activities which may result in breeding.
Hell, Malygos steals Keristrasza as his consort and you pity kill her because to her being forced to mate with Malygos is worse than death. Dragons are pretty rough.

Well, Malygos is a little like Ozzy Osbourne of dragons: he used to be all cool and stuff, but now he's all old and crazy and probably has to wear adult diapers. So, no, you wouldn't want to mate with that.
Malygos went crazy when his BFF Neltharion (Deathwing) killed almost his entire flight. Now that he's regained his sanity... he's crazy.
He actually did kill his entire flight. All that was left were a few eggs that he wasn't looking after, so Krasus/Korialstrasz grabbed the few he could and entrusted them to Nozdormu, then once the Demon Soul was destroyed Nozdormu gave them to him so he could rebuild his flight.
Speaking of dragons, am I the only one that thinks every dragon flight has some serious issues, minus the reds?
Malygos is killing spellcasters all over the joint, Ysera has gone batshit insane because of the corruption in the Emerald Dream, Nozdormu might be the leader of the Infinite Dragonflight, and the Black dragons have Deathwing and the Twilight Dragonflight and corruption from the Old Gods.

She's in Dragonblight. She told her dragonshrines defenders to kill anyone that wasn't a green dragon. Sounds pretty nuts to me :P
No, she didn't do it maliciously, basically they shook her awake and were like "Hey Arthas is a bad dude, what should we do?" and she was like "Fuck you guys i'm trying to do important shit over here, just kill anything that's not a dragon, ok? I'm going back to sleep."
Yeah, the Greens are fine. And i'm still hoping the Emerald Dream features in the next expansion. Whats that? An Azeroth-sized world completely untouched by mortal hands? And the Green's featuring in a larger role? Yeah that sounds cool.

I really don't think Nozdormu is leading the Infinite Dragonflight. I think that's something they're not ready to show their hands on yet (blizz, that is). Something demonic, maybe. Something related to Medivh I'd say is more likely, but I'm just guessing.
Anyway, how do we know we really killed Malygos? Nozdormu is doing something playing with time that is keeping him so busy. And it's not as if no one/thing has never died and come back in warcraft history.

I would imagine someone like Kalec would step up to lead the flight. But I don't know if non aspects can just become leaders like that.

Not only do our faction leaders not do shit, but they look like crap too. So go on and take screenshots with Thrall and such.
