Youtube crashes Firefox and Chrome, but not IE

Recently, my browser (default Firefox) began having problems with youtube. While moving through the site, the browser would freeze up for a few seconds upon loading a new page. Now, it locks up the browser whenever I close the youtube tab. It locks up hard enough that either the firefox debugger or windows closes the entire program. This same behavior happens with Google's Chrome. But it does not happen with IE. Any one had problems like this?

Edit: I am running on Windows Vista.

    Does it happen with Opera? That would tell you if IE is something very, very special, or if FF and Chrome are simply having problems.
