I'm grinding out the final 200g to get my epic flying now.
It will be the first char I've gotten an epic flyer on. Was always too lazy to farm it before, but this time it just kind of felt like, "well, I've got 3k already, might as well go for it."
I've got 3600g left over from when my paladin got his epic and I flew around for a few hours and gathered ore. So I can hope that my druid will keep finding arctic furs to sell as he levels, and I get the last 3k I need, or I can go fly around some more on my paladin and hope I get lucky with a few Titanium nodes.
Thing about 'buy another deck' is that I need to wait a month to do it, and Skinning doesn't benefit whatsoever from the epic flyer speed boost. The only thing it'd really help me with would be my Sons of Hodir dailies, but I'd rather be playing an alt once I finish my gearing then focusing on hitting Exalted for the +15AP +5crit that'll get me once I finish gearing this one otherwise.
I made from level 70 to 77 4k gold. Selling greens, quest and ore. Best investment I have made though.
For leveling I finished with achievements: Fjord--->DB--->Grizzely Hills---->Zul'Drak--->Part of Ice Crown(Hit 80 about 25 quest in). I have since then just for ocd and money have been questing. So far Ice Crown is at about 96/140 and Storm Peaks is ~70/100?. I haven't touch the basin or Borean other than the wyrmrest quest for rep.
Ice Crown so far has been amazing and the Draknyyd quest was beyond awesome and I wish they would make a bg like that at some point.
Having an epic flyer and the 20k mammoth is glorious.
Since there's nothing to save up for anymore, I think nothing of dropping a 1000 gold on librarian's paper cutters, enchant scrolls to put on them, materials to level my alchemy 20 points to 235 etc in the space of a few minutes.
The only thing I need money for these days is enchants or gems and they can be aquired from guild mates anyway.

My priest just spent an -assload- of gold getting a Titansteel Guardian. And then I supplemented it with 50 spellpower and a Prison Manifest offhand (only 100g, pretty nice too). So, yay!
I'm shadow at the moment, cause I hit 80 and tried switching to holy. And it was horrific. Can't wait for dual specs.

I understand that parting with a deck can certainly be painful, but if you are the type of player who will get few chances at an epic flyer, I ask that you seriously consider it. The day I got mine was glorious, a whole new world was opened for me.
I still haven't done any of the quests in Storm Peaks.
Neither have I. I have 0 motivation to grind out quests once I make the level cap. I will get around to it eventually.
Is there any quests in Sholazar/Icecrown/Stormpeaks that should be considered a must? I would hate to discover something cool a month down the line when I can get it now.

It's worth it. I am a firm believer that once you cross that threshold of obtaining an epic flyer, money becomes almost comical in how fast you can make it. It took 3 months to get my epic on my Warrior back in BC. When my Hunter made 70 - I had his in less than a month. My Paladin upon making 70 skipped the reguler flyer all together. My Death Knight will also have her epic flyer the moment she makes 70.
I'm smelting 80+ bars of Saronite a day - and I seriously do not consider myself a hardcore farmer. I just prowl for Titanium and hoover up all the other ore I find. And people seem to buy my stacks of Saronite bars no matter how ridiculous a price-tag I put on them.
Speaking of Titanium, apparently there is an extremely rare "Deep Titanium Vein"? It's the rich equivalent for that ore type. I've never seen one....

That will be my next goal. Though I always have plenty of cash on my toons - I always spend it when I get over a few k. Most I have ever had at any time was around 8k gold. I just got to stop spending money on stupid stuff and focus on the Mammoth.

Again, I don't see the point of an epic flyer when I have neither Mining nor Herbalism and there are only 50 non-daily quests left in the game for me. I'll get it eventually. Getting the second-best trinket in the entire game as-of-now is worth the gold.

Well you can't really bitch about your lack of funds when you spend everything you own on silly trinkets.

I'm the exact opposite.. I always prefer mobility over trinkets.
I'm trying to decide if dropping part/all of the 1k gold I have atm to level tailoring from 397 to at least flying carpet level is worth it. as it is I'm getting enough cloth to get a couple skill ups every play session; that''l prolly change soon though.
I "owe" my main 2 alts about a thousand each to cover their next mount upgrades, but I'd like to start churning out moonshroud and such asap.

Being fast is fun.
I might support this if, after I finish the 41 quests in Icecrown plus whatever's excess compared to the achievement, it was likely I'd ever need to mount up again except for Sons of Hodir. :P
How is the price of Frostweave cloth on people servers? On my server the average stack is between 35 and 40g, depending on the day.
On all my alts servers it seems to be around 25g...
but I have heard reports of it being as low as 3g on some servers.
basically I am currently pissed because crafting ANYTHING with tailoring right now is stupidly and prohibitively expensive, and I'm pretty much past the "everyone needs bags crafted" wave, so I think I am basically on my own for skill ups.
Now what? This is the first character in any MMO that I've played to max level. As soon as I hit 80 I got summoned to a raid with my guildies and rolled a 100 on a piece of shammy gear and that was exciting. Also got a few badges of valor. And I need money for my epic flying mount...
I'm so overwhelmed now.
I hear maxing out engineering is a good challenge.
I think I'll do that after I get my mount. The stuff you can make is awesome; other professions just seem boring.

For Icecrown the Ebon Blade quest makes a dailies hub and gives you a quartermaster and the Argent Crusade quest are just awesome.
For Storm Peaks, it unlocks the Sons of Holdir which is a dalies hub and the people you get your shoulder enchants from. That and has one of my most awesome and unique quest in the game during the unlock quest line. I wish I could of kept the bear mount from it though.
So the sons of Holdir have the shoulder enchants? Other than flying around and looking at the sights in Storm peaks I have not been back
I have been looking for a place to farm cloth but with doing the argent crusade/ebon blade quests I need to find some place other than icecrown for cloth
I will save my time doing quests for when I have a day off or two, since I work shift. In the meantime, I farm ore - and crank out a heroic if possible. But thanks for the info, I really need to mosey on over and get those daily's started.
Just did Heroic Utgard Pinnacle yesterday - and it was a catastrophe (like 9 wipes total), but we endured and I got the [Meteorite Wetstone] trinket off the King, which makes it ok in my opinion. Funny how some heroics seem like pie & punch, while others seem like a punch to the balls.
Frostweave cloth sells for about 28g-30g a stack on my server, which makes for some quick profit. Enjoy it while it lasts, once the WotLK honeymoon is over, prices will stabilize.

it sells on windrunner for 40 to 50g hense why I am looking for a place to farm so I can work on my skill
Does that daily become available at a higher rep than Honored? Only a few days into the crawl now, but the dailies are pretty quick and fun (except for Hodir's Horn, which is irritating) so I don't mind them.

I seem to get a lot killing trolls.
I suppose like most types of cloth, the higher the level, the better the drops. And always off humanoids.
pshh, thats nothing, I was doing like 6k dps on patchwerk as the soak tank.
I may have found some way to bug it and start mangling for a billion damage. It would have been awesome if I hadn't stopped hitting him to let the main tank catch up before realizing what happened and having people die

THere's 2 more dailies unlocked at Honoured.
If your a Scribe though, you don't need to bother that much, as the Inscription shoudler enchants are better.
Thank god for that.
Also, how does the Nobles Deck trinket thing work? Is it always a passive +90 Agility or is their other stat possibilities available?
Dude. That'd give me 4500 hp or something. From one slot.

Sssssoooo... where's the gold-sink ? Blizzard has been good about creating them to prevent gold inflation from ruining the in-game economy, and I find it hard to believe that the epic flight mount, now one expansion old, is the last one. Your gold income from questing is paced to get you to about 5K at 78, which is when you'd first really need that epic flight if you don't have it.
After that, you are sitting on a pile of gold you can't use, and that means steadily rising AH prices. Are rare high-end profession mats meant to be the gold-sink ? I'm not sure.

There's a mount that costs 20,000 gold. And Dalaran teleport rings that cost like 7k.
