I'm just warning you before you drop the ten bucks.
I bought the album once and then, when it somehow ended up not going into my collection when I broke up with my ex, proceeded to drop hard-earned currency on the Special Edition. It's definitely left an impression on me.
I'll admit to being a bit of a Gorillaz fan in general, though - I have all of their commercial album releases (including the Brazil release of "G-Sides", as it contains all of the tracks from both the UK and US versions).
name me a band to purchase an album from that's recent

What are your three favorite bands?
Uhh, American, foreign,what?
Well, I mean
What kind of music do you like most? Hard rock? Piano stuff? Acoustic guitar playing folks?
Then I can have some context from which to draw a suggestion.
I'm very fluid in my tastes.
Currently I'm into jazz (specifically the works of Ornette Coleman and Victor Wooten), Metal (Dimmu Borgir and Fear Factory), and Trance (Armin van Buuren and Paul Van Dyk).
Let me just say that, if someone brings out Eminem, I am getting the fucking muzzle loader.
We were going to talk about good rap, not how to beat your wife.

I just really like the music in Demon Days. The instruments, I mean. For example, I listen to "Kids with Guns" very often just to hear the very first part with the guitar.

Oh god Victor Wooten.
He makes me feel like I should never touch a bass again as long as I live.

Fuck if I know then.
Uhh the opening acts at the concerts I went to this week were good though
Vermilion Lies
and
The Builders and the Butchers
I mean they were good live so maybe they make good CDs.

And if you like jazz and you like metal you should definitely give the song I posted a shot.

Yes. Exactly. There's so much brilliance in that album. There's a couple of bits and bobs here and there that falls flat, of course - for some reason the rap on November Has Come leaves me cold - but as a whole the album is sublime. Ike Turner's piano break on Every Planet We Reach Is Dead is simply magnificent.
O Green World always puts me in mind of Theme Hospital, though.

Jazz: Art Blakey and the The Jazz Messengers - Moanin
Clifford Brown - Study in Brown
Cannonball Adderly - Somethin' Else
Trance: errr... I don't really know albums, more singles. Maybe some stuff by Fred Falke, Justin Faust, or the old standbye ATB?
Is it good? I don't like the series at all and so can't really remember being struck by the music. Conversely I love the Doctor Who OSTs.
I think it's pretty solid. It's Murray Gold and Ben Foster doing what they do best. What's not to love?
(Also, despite having it on DVD and Bluray, I really didn't like the first season of Torchwood. But the second? Oh-ho-ho, fucking glorious if you ignore "From Out The Rain". Honestly, that one plays like an episode of Are You Afraid Of The Dark?.)
Oh hm I don't know what that business is on the end of that. Someone must have edited that on for youtube or something. The versions that I have heard end around the 5:40 mark or so. You know where he's like
"oh shit i guess that dude just raped his mom and killed himself"

Yeah, what the fuck 'cenj? And I'm so far beyond lilly white collegiate boy that I'm practically translucent.
Demon Days was only okay.

Yeah most good rap doesn't get any radio play.
But then again good music never gets radio play.
Gang Starr - Moment of Truth
Immortal Technique - Dance With the Devil
Unfortunately i'm not the best source for rap here.

this.
Cursive - Bad Sects
skip to about 20 seconds. That's from the album Happy Hollow.
Cursive - The Recluse
From the album The Ugly Organ

Because I guess I posted that a while back and I turned this page into Edward's big list of good music.

It's a pretty sweet deal.
I love jam sessions.
PM ME YOUR SUGGESTIONS PEOPLE OR THEY'LL GET LOST IN THE SHUFFLE

NNID: Hakkekage
That's a lot of horns. Huh.
I thought you meant the rap song.
Now i'm confused.

So my mom and my English teacher are friends now. And my mom invited my English teacher over on Friday.
Fuck!
