I've noticed a couple of problems with the Advanced Search option.
1. The minimum length for a search string is extremely limiting in some cases. Say I want to search for posts a certain user made with the keyword "WoW" (which is an acronym for World of Warcraft, a very popular game that nobody ever refers to by the full name but instead by its acronym), this will not work. WoW is too short of a word to search for, which is a bit fucked up on a gaming forum.
2. If you try to search for something that is too short (like said used name for an extremely popular game on a gaming forum), it will not give you any search results, but tell you "no, you can't do that." Yet if you then refine your search to something that uses enough characters, it tells you that you have to wait 1 minute between searches. I think that if your search retrieves 0 results, or better yet if you are not allowed to even search for what you wanted to in the first place, you shouldn't have to wait 1 minute before trying to search for something that meets this weird criteria.

2 makes sense, but 1 is because full-text search queries are very taxing from a computation stand-point, and the letter restriction filters out queries that would likely generate too many results to be useful.

There is always something longer that you can search for. WoW - Warcraft, PS3 - Playstation. And so on.
@gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!
Well then that makes sense.
