Hey guys just wanted to give you all an update
Picked up Flippy last night.
He appears to have gotten through the bus ride stab-free
Got some begniets from a little place over here
Headed back to my apartment and schooled him in Scene it
Bed
My girlfriend may bring over her laptop later, so he may have internet access (sadly, i left mine in my car and i'm at work now)
I just did not want to deal with getting into Houston with no contacts in a shitty part of town (where the bus station is ALWAYS located) at 12:30 in the morning.
Plus I'm having a good time here. TRV is a seriously funny guy and I'm enjoying just kicking back with him and his friends for a bit.
I'm going to put up some pictures and video now. The first leg of my trip is over.
He must really hate Houston to post so many times. Or love America.
It's really weird to hear someone talk about how we're so passionate and how we care...I always viewed most Americans as apathetic. I guess I still think we are.

Hey, I posted in your blog, you coulda emailed me. :P~ I don't blame you though, the Houston bus station is pretty darn gross and populated almost exclusively with urban outdoorsmen.
You ever see that Conan bit where he tries to find out where he's on in Texas, or specifically Houston? Cause they put his show on at 3 in the morning and he ends up at a bus station trying to find people who are awake.
Man, the south has much cooler architecture than Boston.
I mean Boston has like all these crazy records they've set and achievements with the big dig (if you can call em achievements) but the south just looks so goddamn cool.
I could probably walk the streets of New Orleans for hours.
The Big Dig is an achievement? It's more like a public shame.
I specifically meant the new bridge they put up about 3-4 years ago., the Charles River bridge.
I think it's the largest cable-suspended bridge in the world? I could be wrong but I heard this was true because it carries 10 lanes of traffic and looks oooo soo pretty @ night.

I recommend everyone walk through The French Quarter at some point in their lifetime.
My second recommendation is to wait for fall/winter when it's not fucking hades outside.
My third recommendation is to leave yourself multiple days to do the first recommendation--It's like Walt Disney World--you simply can't absorb all of it in a few days time.
The French Quarter just has this antique-ness to it that makes you feel like you're in the 1920s or something. Too bad it wasn't cleaner and safer, or it really would be a great travel destination.

I had to blow that bridge up on Red Faction. Maaaaan were the EDF pissed.

Damn...that's what the Golden Gate Bridge should look like. That's just pretty.

If you zoom in, you can even see the traffic on it.
Interesting day today. I helped jack up a car to change a tire 'cause it blew out, and then spent far too much time doing my laundry in a very convoluted manner.
Okay, so maybe not that interesting. It's just been nice to chill out for a bit.
*sigh* Next thing we hear is Flippy just finished watching NASCAR and he thinks Jeff Gordon is massively overrated.
Unless it's already happened. YOU KNOW, that would be pretty American thing to see. a Race.
Oh god, somebody should take him to some sprint car races, or something similar like a demolition derby, that's americana at its very best, I'd love to see Flippy's reaction
Have fun at Schlitterbahn tomorrow Flippy
Just be forewarned that the park has been having a record year and the lines will likely be atrocious on many of the rides.
I'm aaaactually having second thoughts about it, as I will be alone and furthermore have just gone through a bit more money than I would have liked to, so honestly I probably won't go.
The driver didn't even bother counting heads. No drivers have done that. He said we had 35 minutes and then tried to drive off after 30. I stumbled out of the doors just as he was pulling off.

Kupo: where is 'here'?
Flippy, made any plans to go to a race? You should, for it is the American thing to do, despite what most heathens here will say. You have GOT to see a race. An american race. With amatuer drivers who are self-funded. On a dirt track. With the big wings on top. Awesome Possum.

I meant to make a post about this when Flippy left, but I forgot.
Dur.
It involves the NailBunny portable hard drive of Music that Flippy's carrying about.
I offered to let Flippy hook up and add some stuff. He declines. DECLINES! Terrible.
I will admit that he did happen to see a directory open on my computer with music files in it. And may have seen the title of these files. And perhaps, he chose to decline based on those titles.
I had other music. Good music too. His loss.
All because I was going to add all 89 "Real American Heroes" and "Real Men of Genius" Budweiser commercials to the hard drive.

Last I heard it was rather derogatory, but I suppose you would know better than my second hand knowledge.
Calling a woman a Sheila is derogatory (in most places), but it's also used as a name.

Man, this is going to blow your mind, but you know what they call dudes?
Blokes.

Also, just to give a thumbs-up for this. Especially since you just lived through the South without having a heart attack.
I'm from there, so your posts also have a bit of a nostalgic quality for me, as well.

That's what I get for not writing every little last thing down.

Cool! I look forward to reading your impression of our fine city.

My day was a little less interesting without the updates today.

I assume your bus made a rest stop but forgot to count everyone before heading off again?
