So, decent week:
The
PS360 gets Prince of Persia, latest super-cel-shaded iteration of the acclaimed series.
The
NDS also gets a 2D sidescrolling, puzzle solving version which might be good.
the
PC finally gets Grand Theft Auto IV, which will apparently have 16 to 32 person multiplayer.
PS2 gets a port of the GBA rpg
Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories; should be a good one.
Wii and NDS also get the game
Mushroom Men, which looks like a possibly fun platformer.
Wii also gets the
Space Invaders game, or at least the first chunk of it
360 finally gets the
Banjo Kazooie via XBLA that they were promised last week!
So what's everyone buying in addition to Prince of Persia?

Anyway, still interested, because Chain of Memories was way better than KH2.
Planning on picking it up for my wife for Christmas. I hope it's good.
Edit: Also, PRINCE OF PERSIA, MOTHERFUCKERS!

Assume you meant KH: CoM? Because it's a port of the GBA title to the PS2, and is selling for $29.99, the same price it originally was on GBA. Not so bad.

Dairy Queen Tycoon?! PLEASE tell me this is some sort of sick joke.
FUCKING DAIRY QUEEN TYCOON!? There are so many bad things about this.. It boggles my mind. Mainly because Dairy Queen sucks so much balls.
Yeah, it looks like a good deal to me. Chain of Memories has a fair bit of content in it, and I think 30 bucks is the perfect price for this. It means you can pick up the whole Kingdom Hearts saga for around the price of a full game, which is not too shabby at all.

It's a remake, not a port.
Anyway, I've already paid for Prince of Persia. It's looked pretty cool so far so I'm hoping it lives up to my expectations. I'll also pick up KH: CoM when it comes out over here, which hopefully won't be too long...

The thing is that it's not like a traditional 2d price of persia game. It also has the a hideous faux anime deviant art reject artstyle and the gameplay looks like garbage.

Sucks, don't bother. Or if you have a Wii, see if the demo is still on the Nintendo channel.
The game is controlled almost entirely by touchscreen. But these aren't the good kind of touchscreen controls like Ninja Gaiden or Phantom Hourglass. These are horrible.
NOOOOOOOOO
PoP games are a holiday purchase, play them all throughout christmas week or easter or something. Great games to play with like 10 other people in the room who who only ever see once a year.
I'm tempted to buy it and let everyone know.
I think it's supposed to be based on Othello.
(Please do not gift. My game bank is already full.)
Try the demo on the Nintendo channel if you have access to a Wii.
Next-gen versions?
Because early reports are saying differently.

I did not like the controls. I can see what they are doing by making each button press deliberate, but to me the prince just felt like he had lost a lost of the responsiveness I loved from the previous games.
I also don't think they have nailed the art style well enough.
I think they have changed a lot of things they didn't need to change, and probably for the worse.
Man what
Your other complaints seem valid enough, but this one...what?

Okay that's seriously something to worry about
If a Prince of Persia game has poor controls it's basically fucked

In the new PoP, when you press jump, it triggers the animation to start the price jumping, then after the animation, he jumps (in a kind of floaty manner).
A literal step backwards for the series in my opinion.
It's not a design decision I like.
I've not written it off by any means, but the time I spent with it was pretty disappointing. I had played a lot of Mirror's Edge on the same day though, so maybe that impacted it.
I just think it looks kind of barren a lot of the time, and the models look great from a distance, but why on earth have so many close ups of models that really don't hold up to scrutiny.
Awww. I can get those better at Coldstone anyway :P
It sounds less like it controls horribly and more like it controls unconventionally. Something it'll take me a while to get used to.
Kind of like how I fucking hated God Hand's controls the first time I played it.
Coldstone is seriously the worst fucking ice cream.
You're only saying that because I hate Paradise. :P
Say Coldstone actually had excellent ice cream.
Then why would I want to put a bunch of junk in it so that I can't taste the ice cream?!?
