So where and when does everybody play this? I need somebody to show me the ropes because this game has the strangest ideas about what's important to know. It takes an hour of my time to explain how to press the attack button, but doesn't bother to explain anything about negotiation.
I'm supposed to convince some pixie leader to join me, but the best I've been able to do is get her to say "Hi! Let's play a game", and then wander around for a few seconds before attacking me.

We typically play in Channel 5, but most if not all of us are somewhat inactive due to Persona 4. Some of us check in from time to time. I can hop on for a few for lack of a reason not to.
I hiked my ass all the way over to Arcadia only to find the armor shop selection is identical to Shinjuku Babel. Where can I get some cool looking shit?

Apparently, not all items are available at all moon phases. Certain items only appear at certain times, and in different shops.
Tried to sign up on the forums, it's saying "No connection, use a popular browser like IE or Firefox" even though I am using Firefox. An attempt to use IE brought similar results, any ideas?

Well, I remember there being some cool swords in Arcadia. Though I'm a gunner and I didn't really care. :P But now I'll have to check the stores out more often because I didn't knew the moon phase thingy.
Now I'm in the process of (slowly) leveling up to 30 to get the quest in Babel Docks. I emphasize slooooowly. But I'm having fun with the capture/fusion process, that's for sure. :P
I don't know what I think of it so far. On some level, I really like it, its stylish, has a fun combat system to a degree, and seems expanse. However, after doing my first "dungeon" just to get to a teleporter, go into an even bigger dungeon, and die, I'm a little disappointed. The dungeon design wasn't very inspired either, it was like "Square room, six mobs spawn. Open door to new square room. Six mobs spawn. Rinse and repeat until you've scrubbed to the bone."
Does it get better?

It's never a good idea to take on dungeons alone, for one thing. They go much smoother with groups, and they can revive you if you die.
You do get new story encounters with each new act, and there are some amazing environments waiting down the line, so there's that to look forward to.

It wasn't so much the difficulty as it was the redundant encounters and uninspired boring design of the dungeon.
A few dungeons "mix it up" a bit by having other things to do (teleporters to certain rooms that only respond to certain stats, switches to unlock doors/despawn midbosses) but generally the dungeons follow the same schtick from what I've seen.
"Regular Cu Siths work, but are a pain to recruit. Level 15 high pixies can be found in varying places in Shibuya, and aren't naturally aggressive. If you haven't done the mining thing yet, people were talking about getting a Knocker (Also Shibuya) which had a good chance to complete it, and would level up in the process."

It's hard as hell to be a straight magic user in this game. Can anyone who has succeeded give me any advice?
Also, are you guys trying to send me a message? I'm still not on the guild roster.
Request to join from the terminal in Home 3, and we'll find it.
And you can't be a straight magic user, in my opinion. You have to have someting to back it up. I'm going swords w/ magic, and that's worked out pretty well. Use one when the other fails.
I'm in the guild, joined almost two weeks ago. I just meant I was never added to the guild roster in the thread.
Also, the pet thing might work. I really have no idea how to control my pets. I'm pretty sure they were all on manual control anyway, because until yesterday they would just stand there and watch me get beat up. Now that Cerberus is carrying his weight it's not that bad. I let him do his little three hit combo, and when the enemy tries to attack I hit it with a nuke.
Then again I only have 18 MP, so I can't really cast that many spells right now.

the more they like you, they more they will help during a fight, there is also a button you can hit to take direct control of them, think its tab
It's a Command from your Skills/Commands menu. It's called "Switch to Partner" and has arrows pointing left and right simultaneously.
P4 came out, then I have Nocturne and Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits after winter break. Don't imagine (haha, pun) I'll be playing this game much for a while.

Edit: I'm at the terminal lady, how do I ask to join the clan?
Look for BlackSun, and send a request to join. One of us'll approve it before long.
I see just about everything BUT BlackSun. Do you guys have a specific filter?

Not to my knowledge. Our emblem is the green icon on the black background, for whatever that's worth.
Also fun way to fill up your fusion gauge:
1) get a lost hua po
2) get it to attack a lost hua po
From time to time it'll use a fire attack, which the enemy absorbs.
I was looking because I decided that I wanted to be a gunner instead of a magic user..
I was pleasantly surprised at how much better using a gun is.
Or you could message Makenai if I'm on.
Roster updated, I think.
I sent 7 demons with 50/50 odds and not a single one succeeded.
I hate this quest
At level 17 (or 18?) they get 100% chance of success.
So, uh? Join some Shinigami tunnel runs?
After 7 more 50/50 demons.
That put me at 0.23 percent chance of that happening.
I am done with this game.
First rule of MMOs: The documentation is appalling, the in-game help useless. Wiki it.
Does it get better?

It responds to bribes quite well but every time it costs me 1000
ah, sorry man, I didn't see it. thank you

Going to borrow Persona 3 after my friend finishes, though. But that should take a long, long time.
