Er, what was all this about Arcadia being underwhelming?
I'm impressed.
Oh, and if you want a better chance of surving Shibuya Quartz, you will want a Unicorn. He repels almost everything they throw at him, especially the Mirror Inugami.
Does anyone know how to actually enter either Chaos or Messian HQ?
I downloaded this under the assumption that this is 2008 and any new MMO has widescreen support.
How disappointing.
I play it at 1440x900 and it doesn't stretch. Thats widescreen. Doesn't take a genius to open up the ini and change it to widescreen, took about 20 seconds for me to figure that out.
So, Aeria forum members and beta testers here may be interested in this thread on Aeria. One of their translators is asking beta testers to help catch any translation errors and inconsistencies with both MegaTen canon and Myths/legends for demons, you can find it here: http://forums.aeriagames.com/viewtopic.php?t=237879
If more people start playing think I may start logging in more, because, Gaaah. Grinding to level 30 is terrible. Level 29-30 is more xp than 30-31 if I remember correctly.
If the disconnection problems get resolved I'll be playing this again when I finally beat P4. I wish there was an estimate on the date for the beta to end though. I don't want to get to 60 or something and then I find out the next day it's going away.

I went through around four dungeons yesterday, three in a party, and I didn't get DCed once.
And the Act 3 50,000 XP quest? I got 15% on Level 23 from it.
I seem to get disconnected pretty reliably when I skip the (incredibly slow) updater thing and go right to the game client. Might just be random bad luck though.

It's gonna be a while, I think. There's still a lot of places that players need to get too, like around Arcadia and it's dungeons, if the foray last night was any indication
So a lot of the disconnect issues are being fixed by the looks of the site...maybe i should try this again, i quit because i kept getting d/c'd every 10 mins or so and couldnt finish dungeons.
If I'm reading this right, it seems closed beta ends tomorrow, and accounts will be getting wiped, with open beta starting the next day. I guess those leader pixies will be getting a new wave of attention soon fairly soon.

Well, shoot. I guess I'd better see my current character off tonight. At least I didn't bother going all the way to Level 25.
Open beta builds do carry over to the finished product, right?
If nothing else, I hope they fixed the cutscenes that were still in Japanese, because that's the worst error to have.
Oh damn, I guess it's a good thing I haven't played for a while. So what happens to our accounts for Open Beta when that ends? I've never done this stuff before so I don't know how it all works.

Everything gets wiped, far as I know, so we'll have to reregister from scratch.
So questions about this game. I tried it for about 2 to 3 hours during the closed beta, and it was a bit interesting, however, I didn't make it far enough even to get my own demon buddy, so obviously I have not gotten very far into the game. However, a couple things really really kind of irked me when I first got in.
Questions are:
1. Is there still no strafing buttons to move your character sideways? When I played you had to either click your destination or use wasd and rotate to turn, you could not strafe/right-click-drag the camera, or such. Is this still so?
2. The distance at which I could click on an enemy was very very small. Is it still?
Relatively small issues, but still somewhat of a big deal for me, I think. I was just not impressed with the way the game controlled. What do you think? Did you guys have those issues as well, and was it well worth it to stick through them to experience the game as a whole?

1. No strafing unfortunately, WASD was so clunky that I just ended up using mouse movement.
2. The distance you can click on enemies is pretty small, but it is a bit longer than your attack range so I don't know that it's neccesarily a problem.
The game is fun enough that I'm glad I kept with it despite being very meh about mouse movement. It's still definitely a very flawed game, but it's decent.

It took me a long time to get over the no strafing dealie, and my only problem with the tiny click distance is that I like to have my target ready for awhile away, especially when I'm playing battles.
Regardless, I definitely did not explore far enough to give this game justice, so I'll be continuing my trial during open beta. When is that starting up? Pretty soon right?

I'll miss my character. I'll be back in the game again once I finish P4, ideally, but if someone finds a clan permit, it'd be awesome if you held onto it.
So we're really going to need some melee characters for later on because our clan didn't have many and we're losing one more because I'm switching to guns. Closed beta proved to me how useful guns were for at least the first 25 levels and my computer just isn't powerful enough to run the game at speeds needed to play melee. I can't block fast enough or anything. Guns should give me more time to react.

I'll be sticking with melee, but I'll also always have a gun around. It breaks the dungeons in Ueno and Shibuya wide open.
Oh, and the dungeon in Ueno(volcano land) has monsters that give out 1k XP per kill.
In fact, I'll just stick with doing a little of everything.I like being ready for any situation.

Haven't encountered any. I've been doing Shibuya Quartz runs to try and hit 25 off and on.
It's quiet. I think I've seen maybe one or two fellow BSers(

Especially since it gives out 50,000 XP to everyone who goes. Definitely let everyone around know so we can join in.
Also, to anyone thinking of visiting the Catacomb dungeon outside Arcadia:
don't. Endless tunnels of death.
However, if you want to attempt it, make sure you have Zan and Agi
and very fast recover time
and a full party
preferably around level 40

And find a new clan permit.
Edit: Nothing happens in Open Beta -> Release, not even wipes (usually.) Your account is always the same.
I went to the Docks for kicks, and guess who was there.
As a team.
It didn't even take Tarranon or Succubus. The Naga mostly did me in.
They both left not long afterwards.

First 50 people to reach 30 get 500 AP.
3 random people over 10 get 2000 AP.
