I'm be hooking up my grand mother in-laws new P.C tomorrow and need a nanny filter for it to keep ol' grand-pa off the fat lady porn sites. Any one know of a good free one?

Might try asking in the Technology forum, but I know in the past when I've needed to institute some kind of filtering, I've just gone right into my router and done it in there. I know my current linksys router will allow you to block specific sites as well as filter by keyword, but it's nowhere close to a robust filtering system so ymmv.

Assuming you're using a router that is.

Wait, you are stopping, a man that's over 21 from looking at things he chooses to?

The most effective way then would be for he and his wife to have a conversation how they feel as a couple towards the subject.

Seriously, how would you feel if your grandson stopped you from looking up stuff you wanted to.

The man is a fucking adult let him make his own decisions.

Well, if you really want to go cheap, and you know of specific sites you want to block, you could write them into the hosts file. But I think you're more looking for a general filtering option, and that I can't help you with.

Well Blaket that is one way of looking at it, When we need to stop his porn addition for good I'll give you a call. He's just going to these sites and getting shit that slows down the computer. Grand-mother just wants these sites blocked so it doesnt happen anymore.

Make sure they run a limited account, that will at least stop some of the crap from installing itself.

Also firefox, and maybe no script and ad block installed, but you have to be a pretty savvy web user to work with no script.
