If anyone is wondering about performance on the PC, this game blew me away. I have a 2400+, 1.5GB RAM, and a 6800 Ultra and can play the game perfectly fine on Medium with full draw distance, 1024x768 resolution. I occasionally get some slow down, but it hasn't bothered me at all.

I get the slowdown bug basically, the longer I play the more my fps lowers. An hour of doing shit gradually drops me to under 10 frames. Still, didn't bother me...exploring the wasteland was too addictive.
Friend: Played any good games lately?
PF: I'm totally absorbed in Fallout 3.
Friend: Think I should get it?
PF: If you want to lose many hours of your life, yes.
Friend: I'll give it a shot, I dunno if it's my kind of game.
*next day*
Friend: Man, fuck you. I stayed up until 1:30AM playing that game.
We've got another one. :P
Because of this game, I haven't even OPENED Gears 2.
Man I hope I get enough for a PC to run this. Ah well, anyone else done a Rock-It launcher only run?
I've been using the Rock-It Launcher fairly extensively, and it's a damn good weapon. That, and there's something to be said about knocking someone's head off with random junk.
I only have two bobbleheads left to find, both of which I know the locations of. I'm level 20 already, with the T-51b Power Armour and Charon wearing the Medic Armour. I like to imagine my character chilling in his house, throwing a dart at a map of the Wasteland and saying, "Okay Argyle...er, Charon, we're going there today!"

I couldn't think where else to post this and I figured some people in here probably used it so, does anyone here use the 360 Wireless Controller for Windows? And if so does it come with a wireless dongle to connect to your PC and how does it charge?

What I see is a 360 controller / wireless dongle package. It takes AAs.

So it has the dongle? Every site I went to just said "ENJOY WIRELESS PLAY" all stolen verbatim from MS' website.
Sucks about the batteries though. I assume you can use a play and charge kit with them?

What you want is the docking station and extra battery. I think the PNC is just a USB cable - and if you get that, you might as well have a wired controller.
ed: As to the package I went to MS's website, found the product, then followed the link to Best Buy and it has a picture of a controller and a dongle.

Ok, awesome about the dongle, thanks for that info. Sucks about that dock though, never seen them in a store. Maybe its just worth getting the wired one.

So I have a thing about following in my father's footsteps...
I accidentally skipped over heading to Galaxy News Radio and went to the Jefferson Memorial where I found some journal entries then the quest was considered finished.

Did I miss anything?
Nothing you can't still do.
Head on over the Rivet City and talk to Dr. Li, and then back to GNR. You should still be able to do Three Dog's quest for an alternate reward.
You missed the awesomeness of the fight outside of GNR, killing a behometh, meeting 3Dog and learning about the Brotherhood, and probably missed Rivet City and Dr. Li.
If I'm playing an unarmed character, what stat should I focus on? Common sense says strength, but according the Vault wiki it's also affected by agility, at least in Fallout 2. I know some weapon skills are affected by weird stats (I think Energy Weapons are linked to Perception, while Big Guns are linked to endurance) so what should I emphasize on character creation?
Note - I like to keep my intelligence high, at least 7 or 8, so I can diversify my skill set.

Strength isn't that useful for unarmed characters. Unarmed is improved by having a higher endurance.

Intense Training basically makes S.P.E.C.I.A.L balancing pointless.
Put points into Strength for damage and the skill bonus, and endurance because you're going to get shot up ALL THE TIME while you're running up to guys shooting you from 30 feet away.

Strength doesn't directly improve the unarmed skill, but it increases the damage of all melee attacks.

Feel free to have a perception of one. You can always make up for a low initial lockpick skill fairly quickly. I'm not sure how important charisma is to reactions.
Is there anything wrong with having him hang out by The Brass Lantern all the time? I don't want to get him killed off or have him go attacking random people while I'm trying to be a sneaky bastard.
And telling him to wait at Vault 101 seems cruel.

Speaking of songs, anyone know where I can buy the soundtrack? Or if they are planning on releasing it?
They only released 5 sounds on a special "soundtrack" CD if you pre-ordered the game. If you own the PC version, you can use the Oblivion Mod Manager to open up the Sound.bsa file and extract anything under
"sounds\songs\*". Galaxy News Radio songs are all under "sounds\songs\radio\licensed\*".

Its not so much I didnt think it was a good ending, it just felt like the main quest wasnt long enough, I really enjoyed what was there, but in terms of length it was a bit hamstrung. Also im definately not a fan of the 'cutscene' or 'slideshow' endings, why do brilliant games like Fallout 3 and Bioshock always rush the endings? (god bioshock's ending was dumb though, the evil ending is just retarded, there was no need for alternate endings, one good one would have sufficed)
I was really fascinated by everything about the mainquest, but I would've liked to have 'fought' more, and also the whole super mutant thing was like "oh yes the supermutants, so you've figured out where they're breeding from? Hmm thats nice we'll get right on that" and you see no resolution.
Honestly though the enclave and everything was just fantastic, I really loved it. It was an excellent main quest, just could've done with a bit of fleshing out. Also I found it kind of funny that I had Fawkes with me and it wasnt possible to suggest that he goes into the irradiated chamber, being inpervious to radiation and all.
Also where the hell did my paladin chick go? When the enclave knocked me out she just split on me. What a bitch

Countrymen, I think that what I've found here sums up that particular example of human ingenuity quite handily.
The implications of this tool tip frighten and confuse me.

Fail.
I hope I haven't been singing it wrong this whole time.
That would be embarrassing.
No it doesn't.
Counter-fail.
EDIT: Damn, beaten.
Counter-fail parried with humility and admission of singing.
Seems right to me.
Is it not |Oh no no| |no no| |no| ?

More | Oh | no no | no no | no |
"Oh" then two sets of "no-no" then the held "no".
I should be so sick of that damn song by now since I think I've heard hundreds of times it a pretty short period of time... but I'm not.
It's like a disease. A disturbingly catchy disease that I have to concentrate to keep myself from singing along with.
