One of the first names I ever came up with when I started playing City of Heroes was Diabolique. It said it wasn't available or something, so I got over it and came up with something else.
Then way later I discovered that Diabolique is one of the big-deal endgame Archvillians. That would've been embarassing.

I'm proud to say I've never made a NE character. None of my Blood elves have been a rogue or a hunter.
oh my god
my blood elves are both a rogue and a hunter
oh my god
i'm a stereotype
quick how do i redeem myself what acids do i have to bathe in to cleanse myself
Edit: In my defense, fuck Night Elves
Well you rolled two of the most annoyingly lame and common Horde race/class combos, so now you must make a Troll Mage and Death Knight.

Hey, it's not my fault I hate every other horde race there is (although Undead is bearable). I've only got expansion-race characters--blood elf and draenei. Rogue/Shaman (I don't really play the hunter)
BLOOD ELVES ARE PRETTY, OKAY? BOTH GENDERS ARE FEMALE
...especially if you know how those letters are pronounced.
How are those letters pronounced?
Edit: You know, I just wish it was policy to change character names and guild names to a phonetic spelling of that crap if it was apparent they were using the characters incorrectly.

To be honest, it's hard to write how those are pronounced in English.
You sort of have to be part spaniard, part scandinavian to even attempt--and even then--

People would then do it intentionally for comedic effect.
Actually I wish it was policy like name changes are here: if they don't like it, the GM gets to change it to anything he wants. <InTo ThE nOtHiNg> becomes <The Smelliest Guild>.

Now you're making the assumption GMs have better tastes than the average player...

Isn't it something like:
Een-tah thay Nyu-ah-thee-ang
That's my best approximation, and I know I'm pretty far off.

It's not even a cool guild name without the stupid letters, I'm surprised it was taken.
It probably was not taken. Consider this idea:
Do you remember those girls who make the dot on their i look like a heart? IT'S THEM, they're playing WoW. And they picked a name they liked and then thought to themselves: 'how can I make this look cool?' and they decided to change all characters to none A-Z characters in an attempt at creativity.

Mekgineer is the standard Gnome leader title. It's like naming a Night Elf "Archdruid".
Well that will teach me to assume a link before I click it.

Maybe they heard "through the never" as "through the nether", and figured "into the nothing" was close enough.
