I run a program using games to teach kids. I'm starting a donation program through it that I don't want to seem like I'm super whoring out here (*cough* my sig *coug), but I want to do a better job of getting the word out for it. I've sent out press releases to a few gaming sites but that hasn't really panned out. I can distribute fliers locally, but there aren't really many places that I can do so AND find the right crowd where I'm not directly competing with the location (i.e. game shops).
My resources are pretty limited in that I'm working for a non-profit and my program is pretty low priority (just like my budget). I have free reign to do whatever I can come up with, but marketing isn't really my forte.
Does anyone have any good ideas on how to better get the word out on my program?
I don't care what your website is about, sitewhoring is against the rules and you didn't even bother to ask before assuming that the rules would be bent in your favour. And don't even try that "but it's for kids!!!" bullshit fucking line on me, we both know it's a lot more complicated than that.
Or maybe we don't and only I realize that. In which case the answer is double-plus-no.
