What's the key for that menu where you can select where the system boot from? I have the XP disc in the dvd right now, but I seem to have set boot from HDD as first priority.
edit: nvm i just changed the boot sequence in the BIOS
Every computer is differant ya? If I don't know I just spam the F keys till get the menus.
Heck.. I don't actually know what it is for any of my computers.
Whoa whoa, you don't have to reformat. I just had a bluescreen on boot problem. One of the OS choice options was to boot but not restart on the stop error; that let me see the screen. Googling let me know what files I had to screw around with to make the error go away, and I used the Windows Recovery Console off my install CD to make that happen. Boom, Windows booted, I re-installed some Windows Updates to get my system files back in whack, and everything was awesome again. You might also find the relevant stuff under a file called Minidump in C:\WINDOWS or your equivalent.
In the future, under Control Panel>System>Advanced (tab)>Startup and Recovery Settings (this is a button) uncheck "automatically restart" in the System Failure section. That is checked by default but never should be in the first place. Bluescreens are unfortunate but contain valuable information and don't occur often enough on 2K or later to warrant instant restart.
Also your avatar is annoying and this effect is amplified when it's on the same page 5 different times.

If all else fails grab a live Linux CD. It's always good to keep one of those guys around.
You should try a Linux CD, I have Knoppix sitting around for times like this.

edit: since you know, I can't get to the control panel.
I deleted it and then ran the repair. I got a new winsrv.dll, but i still get the error.
