Those things do IMMENSE damage and are the perfect answer to shit like "HAY GUYZ, LET'S DEFEND THE WALL ON THE BLOOD HARVEST FINALE." Yes, you may outrun me in an open area while you're filling my monstrous body with lead, but you WILL NOT outrun my log.
As for Versus difficulty: Good. Hear me out on this one. This INSTANTLY prevents the other team from random dickery like voting to change the difficulty to expert to ONLY affect the other team. And it's also preserving Versus the way it was MEANT to be. A bunch of you guys want to bitch about the boomer explode command not being Valve's intent, well, apparently non-Normal Versus wasn't their intent either, so don't bitch about it...=P
As for other fixes, haven't got to play to make sure a lot of the shenanigans were fixed, but thank God. Just reading the text makes it look like a marked improvement.

Also, as for blocking, it doesn't really work unless one team makes it to the saferoom and the other doesn't. I know this because a team managed to block us on BH versus WITHOUT a tank (forklift in the door) and they made it farther in the level than us AS A TEAM, but we still outscored them because we were alive for a LONG time.
Furthermore, if you have that kind of time as a tank to be setting up elaborate barricades, they are unnecessary. The vehicles do a SHITTON of damage to survivors. Hit them instead of trying to knock a car the right way down some stairs.

Tonight, I found out that if you start the finale while steadfastly ignoring the bot in the respawn closet, the closet will open and let him out anyway.
We were goofing off last night on easy mode. The two of us playing were inside the safe room, after summoning the horde and the two bots spent damn near a full minute just a few feet outside the safe room door, but unable to defeat the mass of zombies about.
The AID said enough of this shit and teleported them into the saferoom, ending the level...
I have no idea how the tank music gets cued up. On No Mercy versus last night, I came out of the restaurant to head for the lift to the rooftops. The tank was apparently hiding behind the semi-trailer and the music didn't begin until I rounded the trailer. I heard the first notes just as I got punched in the face and incapped.
I'm fairly certain it starts as soon as the first survivor sees the tank. If you don't have line of sight on the tank you can only hear it grunting.
No, there's more to it than that. I've seen tanks that haven't activated and I've bypassed tanks that get angry anyway even though there's no way for them to see us. The first was in the luggage area of Dead Air. I went ahead and crawled in only to go OH FUCK A TANK! then after a moment realized he hadn't gotten up and the music hadn't started. So I went back in, shot him, and lured him out into the open area so we could kill him. The second one was in Blood Harvest just before the bridge when the tank is in the second house. There's a way to bypass the house but he still came running out of it after we passed him and tried to kill us.
Maybe it's a bug, I dunno. I love when the witch gets bugged and doesn't attack anyone. She just runs around screaming in circles.
Anyone wants to play now? I just got this recently and I have never completed a single campaign on expert yet, though I came close on a pub the other night...

Hunter right click is alright but I'd really like to see them allow hunters and smokers to release their victims at will.
Hopefully their locking Normal difficulty will allow them to balance melee and make the smoker just a tad more useful.
Also I hope they resolve the smoker issue on the finale of No Mercy. It's not really an exploit but it's almost impossible to beat and basically exploits geometry issues.

For gods sake people, the purpose of the witch is to be an element of danger one has to be careful around, like cars. The rules are STAY THE HELL AWAY from her and try not to startle her. Now I am fine with the entire group unloading on her from a distance and killing her that way, but the fact that one person can kill her with no danger to himself by doing exactly what one is not supposed to want to do eg walk up to her makes her a very trivial threat in most cases.
She is not supposed to be a tank-level threat, but at the moment she is only barely more dangerous than a special infected and that sucks.
Now that I would do is give her a little bit more hp (not much mind you) but more importantly make her stand up and attack much faster when someone approaches her. I want to be terrified of the witch again, I haven't even been scared of her since the demo.

I think you get 2 points for every point of damage done to survivors by your own hands aside from assists.
It's hilarious when you get 1k points from a well-placed boom, leaving all other infected at <100. :P
A versus game the other night on Blood Harvest was gold, we had knocked everyone down except someone who was playing Zoey, the tank was down and she was making a mad dash to revive one of the suvivors, I suck as a hunter and couldnt pounce her to save my life, ate a facefull of a buckshot and Zoey started to pull someone up.. you could hear the second mass wave of horde coming and BAM, she gets tongued and pulled off, just as the horde arrives. The smoker got like a 500+ assist due to all the zombies beating the shit out of the subdued Zoey. It was glorious.

I can't believe people are actually disappointed at the Boomer suicide fix. It was completely obvious it wasn't intended. Boomer is the easiest infected to use anyway, why would you even need an exploit like that?

At least the huge infected zombie monstrosity didn't CHOOSE to cause inexplicable amounts of damage. 12 yr old hooligans however...did. I fear things that choose to be fucking monsters, not those that turn into them because of being bitten buy a rabid zombie.
edit: Back on topic, its kinda cool seeing the previous revisions of the original intro. Louis getting knocked sideways by the hunter and cursing like a drunken crazy person = awesome.
Now, things like that are why I like living in a small town(~10k). If something like that were to happen it wouldn't be near as difficult to track them down, preferrably Next of Kin style.
