To revisit masteries: I would like the mastery points divorced from the abilities they provide. I want the extra abilities to be sort of free-for-all, but still increase in level based on mastery. I want the whole career system to be fleshed out and cohesive, actually.
Rant/Ideas incoming:
At any one trainer, I want to see a window divided into these tabs instead of trees:
Reknown - This tab lets you gain stat packages based on reknown rank. These would be similar to WoW's trees in organization. Every stat package has a name, and is a percentage or level based. Reknown tactics would be in here, too. Just make them not suck.
Tactics/Abilities - This tab lets you pick the current mastery abilities or tactics. The difference is that anyone can choose any of them. The only requirements for some of them would be three mastery-defining tactics, abilities, and the rank 4 morales. You would gain one choice at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40. (7 total, with an additional 3 coming from reknown ranks.)
The morales would be easiest to get, they just require 5 choices to be made (any mastery). Tactics require no choices for the most basic, one of the associated mastery for advanced, or two for the capstone mastery. Abilities would have similar requirements to the tactics.
Mastery - Like this one, but a strict level bonus to abilities for the tree. Show it as a meter that increases in value from either bottom-up or left-to-right. Color would change depending on mastery value, like yellow for few, orange for middling, and red for total.
The archetypes already exist, Mythic. Let me choose how to play my favorite class.
So I just completed the Bloodwrought Enclave dungeon, the final boss was a real bitch until we figured everything out, I can understand how regular groups there could clear the place in 20min.
Of the 2 Boot drops and 2 Helm drops from the bosses, they all rotted. Of the 2 belt drops, both were used.. unfortunately belts dont have a ward on them
Apparently the login servers were down, I don't know the exact time frame but I tried to sign in around 8pm CST and it just wasn't happening. Fine, let's go check the herald.
Herald says nothing. Well, it said the BG & Knobs were coming today. Not what I was looking for.
So, didn't see anything mentioned over here, so I peeked over on the WHA boards. Thread was started, link to VNboards that a Mythic rep posted on about them 'looking into it.' Why isn't this shit posted on the Herald?
/wave to VNBoard - that color scheme rocked, back in 95' and when nobody knew how to design websites. Maybe you can change this if you have a username registered, but I'll never know, because I'll never sign up.
I'm really surprised that some of these bugs made it live. Such as the BG Hold the Line having a 60 sec cooldown. Many testers have said that they raised concerns on the PTS forums yet that bug still made it out.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

This has been the case when it comes to many things since about May 2007.
Anybody else running the 'novideos' mod? I saw it over on WHA, and they're having an argument about whether or not it's against the EULA.
To be fair, with all the CTDs floating around this needs to be standard, maybe leave the current intro into the game as something that only runs once. Getting into the game in less than 20 seconds is nice, and might even save me from missing out on a PQ reward/scenario spot when I get dumped.
Still though, when i look at the overall amount of bug fixing and feedback leading to the issues being addressed since release, I can say that Mythic has been extraordinarily good about the fixes. Especially in the limited timespan that has passed since initial release.

Thats great and all, but many of the fixes should have never gotten to the point where they had to be fixed in the first place. If they listened to their testers from the get go, they would have been released in working fashion.

I guess a company has to figure out where to draw the line. They've got to address bugs, but they've also go to keep up the pace of steady content. I guess they want to "release new content now, fix it later." This model isn't totally bad, as they can really revitalize players with (mostly) well-made new content, like zones, classes, etc. But if they don't conduct enough QA and their live products have serious problems, they sacrifice some integrity, and risk a lot of cynicism and distrust among the player base.

If they listened to their testers from the get go, they would have started with more servers instead of less... Oh wait.
I was just in Averlorn as a few people were taking down Ghrond's. There was another T4 player there chickened as I was. She came fourth in contribution.
A chickened T4 player that dies in one hit, can't cast, and pretty much spent the entire time sitting behind the casters with me.
If I didn't die on my way up the stairs I probably would have won a purple bag or something..

didn't see that one coming from the PTR at all. Nope, not one bit.
Heh, yeah, that's one of the reasons I'm probably sounding a bit pissy about Knobs and Black Guards. Pretty much all these problems aren't new. They were reported and brought up repeatedly, but instead of working on fixing them they just decided to call it a day and go live. It's particularly disheartening after they did a similar thing to the Magus at the end of beta, and even more disheartening when I think about their previous claims of "Trying to balance things before launching them and then making minor adjustments as necesary!".
Though I question whether or not more testing time would have helped after some of their decisions, such as removing the toughness buff on Hateful Strike and making it a mastery tactic... based off of tier one feedback and complaints from Ironbreakers that they don't get the same skill (now if only the Black Guard got half their shit).
And on a completely random tangent: Hooray! I've got a dinosaur now. Though I do wish I could get it in blue.
Iblis, how many hours a day do you play? I try to get in about 2-3 hours an evening, and I'm still only 13 on my BG. How do you do it?

I haven't actually had too much time to play until recently, so I've been playing rather compulsively to make up for lost time as it were. I'll probably slow down a bit though, as it's finals week now and I've got a paper to write and a good amount of studying to do.
Someday the Goatrider shall sit upon a throne of Bright Wizard skin and sup upon elixir distilled from their stolen hope.
When do you run Scenarios Morsk? My BG is in Tier 3 and is in need of non-BG support for my caster killin'
From about 9:30/10 PST for an hour or two. In the long run, once people get their BGs up and we have a full group or more in the same tier, I'd like to expand this and set aside at least a night weekly (at a more reasonable time for people) for coordinated RvR (Open if available, Scenarios otherwise).
They need to give me something to do other than zerg keeps all day, I feel like an actual warhammer miniature right now. just a number in a sea of other numbers.
Cant do anything without 8,000 other destruction showing up and spoiling the fun.
Hey all. Getting a new pc in a few days, and was just wondering if anyone would happen to know what kind of fps I'd get on the machine? I've wanted to play Warhammer for ages now, and well.. I'll finally have a pc that isn't nearly five years old.
5000+ AMD cpu, 2 gig of DDR2 800mhz ram, and a 9600 GT, running windows xp.
I only have a small CRT monitor, so I'll be running at 1024x768 resolution.
Any thoughts?
So, in case anyone cared, i've been gone because I went and bought a new mobo and processor, and got 5 DoA mobos.
Yes, 5.
Up and running now though, so i'll be back in and hating people to death shortly.
Morsk I plan on catching up with you soon, I need some sweet Chosen love to killinate bright wizards with my hate.
We're on the verge of getting this thing rolling. By the time I hit T4 in about three years, we should have a few ready to do some serious training. I'm still trying to come up with an ideal group makeup, though I have a strong feeling a Witch Elf and at least one Disciple will factor into things.

A 512mb card? You'll probably do fairly well, maybe dipping below 30fps in big combats. A bit higher in scenarios and probably 60-99 in PvE.
I would suggest making sure to optimize your client as much as possible; get the newest possible drivers (fully uninstall any current or preloaded ones) and the lovely, lovely BuffThrottle mod (see the OP for links). People often have *wildly* different results, though, so you may find better or worse, depending on tweaking.
What settings will everything be on? 'cause I play WoW at the moment on this old piece'o'crap and I know that it can look nice, but.. it doesn't, which is slightly depressing.
I'd guess you could safely get that on Balanced and possibly High settings.
Hey Disciples out there. What sort of stacking do you get? Multiple covenants between Disciples? Healing?
Que? Different covenants from different DoK's will work but you can't have the same covenant from multiple doks. The highest level one will overwrite all the rest, so when I see that another dok has a covenant active I will use a different one. What do you mean by "Healing?"?

Oh, I have one. Only level eight though. Haven't played him for awhile as I was, well, waiting on the Black Guard to instead play as my Tank.

Chosen start at level 8.
Did they say they'd have it fixed by 1.1 by the way?
Ah, heh. Misread that.
The good news is that my Black Guard just hit level 20, so it won't be long before I can team with you and many of our other Chosen in tier three.

Destruction has the marauder and witch elf. Order has the witch hunter and white lion.
If you roll a white lion, everyone here gets to punch you in the junk for being such a raging tool, though. Fuck white lions.
