I almost bought one of those WoW CCG starter packs today because the Raid Decks sound awesome. However I did not find any Raid Decks so it didn't happen. It would have been rather interesting playing the CCG since I have next to 0 knowledge of WoW, and possibly less than 0 knowledge of Warcraft lore.
I bring this up because I saw WoW's pre-painted table top game while I was out and, wow, those are actually really well done little figures. They don't have anywhere near the cheap shit paint job that HeroClix does. I was tempted! If Warhammer would put out a CCG or a "dumbed down pre-painted tabletop series" I would devour that shit. I'm one of those people who finds a brand they like and lavishes it with all of my monies.
Yes, obviously there is the full fledged awesome Warhammer and 40k table tops but I don't have enough time for it. I barely have enough patients to paint one of the figures, I've tried (poor Tau army). Plus having to use a ruler just isn't as friendly as counting out grid spaces. I know I would love the hell out of the WAR table top if I felt I had the time for it but I don't so appeal to my massmarketness, GW!
You could always buy a prepainted army on ebay.
And I'm sure you could find a friend who would be willing to change the rules from "8 inches" to "8 squares", though to be honest, grids restrict movement significantly.
I must say that after my friends and I are done with our current 40k projects, we're going to go into the fantasy game....
I haven't played since early November when my friends got all butthurt over class balance (or their perception of it) and left. Now my bold plot to lure them back in must commence because WoW is just not healthy for me.
Give me positive things to say about the game. The Devs putting things up the asses of Bright Wizards doesn't hurt.

The devs shoved the nerf bat all the way up the Bright Wizards ass. The handle isn't even sticking out, its lodged in there good. Engineers, Shadow Warriors, Magus, and Squig Herder are all generally shit hot now. And theres a lot of tanks running around with the addition of the Knight of the Blazing Sun and Black Guard.
I was in my first Phoenix Gate PuG, in which a gaggle of very poorly organized warriors of Destruction - with two healers - were kicked so damn hard in the face that we were pushed back to the river next to our spawn zone. We had the meanest, angriest, most merciless murderers so scared of some elves that they refused to cross the river. The dual-Warrior Priest team healing each other and DPSing in tandem did not help.

i was in that mess too (Faustas). that fight really sucked. i would break through a couple times to disrupt/kill the healer or BW but its hard when most people are... sitting in the river. i don't really like that scenario

I don't know if they have it on the destro side because I've never seen anyone use it, but I really like Phoenix Gate because of the repeater on the order side. Even if you're losing, you can do things like this:

High numbers are pretty fun, anyway.
Yeah, I used those a couple times! They are indeed quite fun, but my machine is so terrible I lag a bit during scens, so I wasn't sure if I was hitting them or not. Still, it's funny watching an Iron Breaker run around in panic after losing 400 health in one go at the starting rush.
I just hit rank 19, and have started to remember how much of a damn WALL it is to get from 19 to 21, and then 20 to 21. Any suggestions?
Seriously, roll an alt or two.
The game's PvE is vastly more enjoyable when you've got lots of rest experience, because you can actually keep up with the quest arcs, and not have to resort to PQ grinding or leaving mid-stream to go to another pairing and run outdated quests.
Keep your characters logged out in the city (in the guild hall, if you can), and rotate through several of them. That way, when one's out of rest experience or feeling too slow, you've got another to switch to that has plenty of rest experience.
Also, do scenarios. Lots of scenarios. Go to each pairing's war camp in T2, and grab the quests (should be a quest for each scenario, plus a kill x players quest in each pairing, and sometimes a quest to kill 20 of a given class). When the scenario pops, run it, and then when you've got time, swing by that scenario's pairing and turn in the quest for a good chunk of experience.
I've been working on my SH, DoK, and IB on and off over the past few days, and it has felt much less grueling when leveling up. Always remember that scenarios are great experience, too. Even a loss will usually net you as much exp as a quest, plus some renown. A win will run you about double a good quest's experience, and it's a lot more fun, too.
Also, for fun, don't do Stonetroll. It's not a class thing; the map's just too big, and in a pubbie group, it invariably devolves into roving skirmishes all over the map where stragglers just get steamrolled by 5 or 6 people at a time. It'll take the full 15 minutes, and I don't care who you are, you're going to rack up those frustrating deaths where you just get run over by too many people before you even found your teammates.

All I have been doing is ORVR like mad (always seems to be a zerg somewhere) and once I cap out on Inf/RP for a level go do some quests. In T2 right now at level 15 with no quests done (well done but not turned in yet)
I must be the only one who hasn't had a problem leveling. Once you hit the end of T2, start going to the chapters of every pairing and do all the quests. Also do RvR. Works like a charm.

I don't quite understand this. You should pretty much be dominating every scenario you're in at the top end of it, and T2 is before you really hit diminishing returns on scenario XP, you should seriously get a friend, queue up as a duo or maybe a trio, and melt faces for enormous XP. I absolutely hate how fast T2 is, I actually wish it would slow down so I don't level into Tier tor anroc so damned fast.
rested xp doesn't accumulate faster in the main city does it? i've been keeping my dudes in towns
I was told that you get more rested experience depending on where you log out.
Viper Pit > Capital City > Warcamps/Chapter Camps > Somewhere in the wild.
Yeah, I think it starts at plus 150% in the guild halls and loses 50% each step you go down, so in the wild you get it at the normal pace, whatever that is.
Mourkain's Temple becomes infinitely more fun for me when I'm playing a ranged class. I don't dislike it as a tank as long as I have a good healer with me.
I Phoenix Gate, though I think they should just turn it into a classic CTF where the first to 3 flag caps wins. No points for kills, just the typical EXP/Renown. As is I don't think I've ever seen it end before the timer runs out.
And Stone Troll Crossing, good lord, that thing needs a complete overhaul.
I need some Candymancers in t1 to do some PQs with me tomorrow.
Ill also be trying to get an invite so be nice if you get a whisper from Oranje the Witch Hunter
make sure you sign up on our forums and get accepted, or you won't be able to get an invite. We've actually brought in several new folks lately with a wide selection of levels, so I'm going to guess that we'll have a few folks on.

I applied ages ago, when I first got the game. I just never joined back up with that char after the server switch. Still need to apply?
Gusting Wind is quite possibly the greatest ability ever.
Tank getting too many heals? Gusting Wind him out of LoS.
DoK and WE attack you? Get in between them, Graceful Strike->Quick Incision->Gusting Wind the DoK out of LoS and kill the WE.
MPDS on the healer? Quick Incision->Gusting Wind for 4+ seconds of unmolested healing.
On the bridge at Phoenix Gate while tanking five people? Gusting Wind.

Managed to top damage at 55k, 9k experience.
Just now in tor anroc a swordmaster did this and sent everybody around him flying into the air except me who blocked it. He was lined up perfectly too, so my repel sent him straight into the lava.
I really enjoyed standing back and waiting for him to use it then snaring him and repelling him into fiery doom.
You know one reason why warped flesh and the swordmaster bubble are so good though?
If you get hit with a crowd control attack when they're up and absorb it the cc part is nullified.
This alone justifies the tactic as a permanent pvp slot.

Viper Pit only counts as City rested bonus of 100%, only the Officers room is 150%, and it is still completely stupid.

Yes, you can get gamecards for 30 days at $15 each at most wal-marts.
Yay, thanks
EDIT: Is the first month free? Because I'd like to start playing while I wait for a gamecard to come in. The only place I can find them is Amazon
