The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
So, on Monday my girlfriend will be visiting for over a week, and we want some good co-op XBLA games to play.
Castle Crashers was the first thing that came to mind, so I will be picking that up today. Are there any other great Co-Op XBLA games? And, they must be split-screen.
Sorry if this thread made G&T go from "lots of XBLA threads" to "too many XBLA threads" :P
Recommending Schizoid a million times. It's specifically designed for co-op (there isn't even a real single player mode, just one player controlling both ships). No buttons to learn, just movement, enemy patterns and teamwork.
The demo will give you a good taste, first time I've actually bought a game to continue a demo.
As long as its a 2 player offline game :P
Ikaruga might be a little too hardcore, Schizoid looks really fun, and N+ might be right up our alley too.
I guess i'll have to show her N (let her play the flash version) and show her a review of schizoid and see which she likes more.
She also wants to play L4D and TF2 when she is down (PC version, of course).
Metal Slug is good, but as I've said many times, Heavy Weapon in 4-player is one of the most fun co-op games I've ever played!! I wish everyone owned it. It is my absolute favourite "I'm too drunk to play Gears/Halo/anything vs let's throw on..." game after Rock Band.
I recommend Age of Booty (in addition to Castle Crashers of course). There is no coop story, but playing on a team of 2 against 3 other teams of 2 bots each (2v2v2v2) is really really fun. If you can take it online and play coop against other people, it's even more fun.
Not split screen, but I assume you just mean offline.
Edit: Unjailed!
Not for long. :P
Also, I'm going to recommend Ikaruga, N+, Castle Crashers, Doom, and I'm not sure but I think Carcasonne can be played on one screen as well. Even if it can't you should pick that one up anyways because it's fucking amazing.

Carcasonne is excellent single screen multiplayer, although strictly speaking not coop. In a similar vein is Ticket to Ride, which my gf loves.

Worms and Bomberman are also a lot of fun in multiplayer, but you will be playing against each other.

Thanks for all the input
Unless you're playing online...
Also, fuck me Lewie is unjailed. I cant remember what his avatar looks like he's been in the slammer so long.

VOICE-OVER: It's September 24th, I'm Liz Parker and five days ago I died. But then the really amazing thing happened. I came to life.
I'm not sure if this is sexual innuendo or not. The ":P" makes it even more puzzling
