Are you just happy to see me?
No, of course you're not. It's because FFIII comes out in a week (Nov. 14th) for the DS and it will be full of win and awesome. Also it makes three Final Fantasy threads on the frontpage, which is either a point for Square or a massive leak of mental retardation that knows no definition. Either way!
Hi, I'm Final Fantasy III! You might remember me from the Nintendo Entertainment System, or to be more accurate, the Nintendo Famicom. I lived a horrible life. I was conceived as an expansion of the job system by my Japanese overlords, but never escaped to America. Two years ago, they put me on a table and stuck scalpel after scalpel in to me, telling me I was going to be remade for the DS. After years of work, and some rough around the edges pictures released for the autopsy report (IGN), I have been reborn.
Touch me!
If you want, I can be controlled entirely with the touchscreen. If not, you can use buttons and whatnot exclusively, too.
The story of my life!
Not only are my looks improved, but my autobiography has gotten a complete overhaul. The same basic concept is there, four kids saving the universe, but with new twists and turns! And every story has characters.

The Soundtrack of my Life
While most of my original music was 8-bit midis, everything has been recreated by Uncle Uematsu for the remake!
There are samples on my website!
Oh, oh, that reminds me. If you want to see some home movies I made,
here's my trailer.
Hope to see you all on November 14th!
This concept sounded so much better in my head.

I think it came off kinda cute! "Uncle Uematsu", heh.
But I'm in Australia, and we get nothing. Import sometime I guess.
Or at least I will have to make a note of it and get it when im done playing Okami/FFXII/Wii, dammit.
I'm so overwhelmed.
Wait, what? We not getting it at all, or is it just delayed lots from the Yank release?
Really not sure. Don't really care though, Nintendo of Australia is dead to me.
Aw, that warms my fanboy heart.
And great OP.
Gameplay Video 2 (boats, airships, and chocobos)
Showing the Touch-Screen controls (sexy)
What I want to know is if there's any quirks to this game. Anything unique about the battle system, the way XP is gained, the magic system, mini-games, a riveting storyline, anything? Or is it pretty straight-forward?
EDIT: Okay, so there is a job system. Neat.

[realspoiler:0ed8f2ba72]You don't start as this like in the Famicom version? I'm calling shenanigans.[/realspoiler:0ed8f2ba72]
No, it's the same, you're thinking of
[realspoiler:bf54b38933]The Onion Kids. That is what you start off as. If you get certain items, you can turn your characters into Onion Knights, the most powerful class in the game.[/realspoiler:bf54b38933]
Normally I'd wait till the price drops for every new game release but I am so fucking getting this on launch.
I really love the music on the official website.
edit: Is the Mognet mail system the extent of the WiFi compatibility?
It lacks the detailed customization of FF5 and Tactics but it's still a lot of fun. Plus, vikings!
