The Chains of You Memories are REvisited

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was remade for the PlayStation 2, titled Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. It was released as the second disc of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+ in Japan on March 29, 2007[4] and as a standalone title in North America on December 2, 2008.[5] The remake includes polygonal 3D battles and worlds using the same graphics as Kingdom Hearts,[71] as well as voice acting and an improved soundtrack. While the card based battle system and room synthesis aspects of the gameplay stayed mostly the same,[72] there were additions, such as the "Reaction Command" function from Kingdom Hearts II.[71] Voice-acted scenes only occur in the hallways between world floors and the Destiny Islands and Twilight Town worlds. The remake also includes new cutscenes and battles that were not in the original game, such as a fight with Zexion in Reverse/Rebirth.[73][74] When the game is completed, the player has the option of watching cutscenes in a "Theater Mode".[75]
Got it memorized?
Unlike the GBA version, Re:CoM actually looks to be fun with large battle arenas taking the place of those stupidly small spaces. So you can actually run and avoid attacks while beating in that haughty bitch Larxene's face.
Yes! I did not think someone would make a thread. I just picked up the game. But wtf is somethign wrong with my game I start off in the tutorial and it tells me how to use the analog sticks and then I can not progress any further.
Watching that video made me remember how great the Kingdom Hearts menu sounds are. I will be buying this along with Kingdom Hearts 2 since I never got around to playing it.

As much as I hated KH2 for various reasons, I'm somewhat interested in this game because from what I saw of Chain of Memories it did look kind of interesting. Probably not new but maybe once it's even cheaper.
Of course it does have the Organization whatever in it so I might pass on it because of that.
I hated them as characters so much.

Chain of Memories GBA was surprisingly good.
Does this also have the Riku quest after finishing Sora's?
Is there an optional mode where I don't have to fuck around with cards?
I played the GBA version for about half an hour before I gave up in disgust as Sora tried to summon Donald Duck or cast heal or something equally stupid while I'm trying to hit bad guys with my freaking key/sword.

I liked Chain of Memories more than I liked KH2. I am going to get this.

Riku's story is as close as you'll get in CoM. His deck is determined by what world he's in rather than being customizable like Sora's. He's focused on just wailing on things while Sora's all about sculpting the deck. But you have to beat Sora's story to unlock Riku's.
Pfft, my wife had this ordered like a week or so ago. This game was pretty darn fun. I see that they added action commands! Should make it a bit easier for those who don't like the battle system all that much.

So because you failed at the game and didn't even try to play it, it's bad?

Did I say it was bad? It's not for me, so I was hoping that there was a version that is.
Man, I loved the GBA game so much... then I got to the final boss and got ass raped repeatedly. I never found the patience or will to beat it. Goddamn he was hard.

Oh.
Ok.
Carry on then.

I played Chain of Memories on my Gamecube... so much more tolerable that way.
Part of me is Glad that is actually made it outside of Japan.
Part of me is Angry that it took this long to do so.
Finally, Part of me is Pissed off because my PS2 hasn't been able to read a disc in about 8 months.

Hmm, the game seems a bit harder than the GBA iteration, if I recall that version correctly. Probably made the AI better, though it's more than likely the transition from 2D to 3D that's causing some minor trouble.
Also, the game seems to hate giving me Moogle Room cards. Only got one in all of the first two worlds, and I spent at least two hours in Traverse Town grinding rooms for epic loots.
I just wish we got the entire Final Mix package instead of just this. Ah well.
So what's the voice situation like? The KH games typically had a shitload of voice acting at an undoubtedly huge expense, and I'm wondering if Disney shelled out for it again considering this is coming out toward the end of the PS2's life.

All the Disney sections lack voices, like in the Japanese version. Only Castle Oblivion (in between Floors and the final level), Destiny Islands, and Twilight Town are voiced (oddly enough, Traverse Town went unvoiced). Guess they didn't want to pay the Disney VAs just to say a few lines. It's not that much of a loss.

Is this game out in the US yet
holy shit
I MUST go get this game
Hopefully, this will lower the price of KH2 and so a almost two for one special will occur.
LIZ: Different.
VOICE-OVER: It's September 24th, I'm Liz Parker and five days ago I died. But then the really amazing thing happened. I came to life.
Also, battle vs Cloud, featuring a new Sleight!

I mean I bought it forever ago. It is sitting on my shelf.
The Disney half was garbage.
