edit: like, do you regularly have tanks die, or what
We just recruited like 15 new people in order to do 25 mans, so its a new group. On that attempt, none of the tanks died. I assume I got hateful struck when the tanks took damage.
Annoying thing comes from the tards saying things like "stand in the slime to reduce your health'. Derp derp, I have only 22k health buffed, it has nothing to do with anything.
Patchwerk's hateful strike mechanic changed from the old 40 man style of most health to 2nd on threat for 10 man and 2nd or 3rd on threat chosen by highest health on 25 man.
Thats interesting. And it would definitely support my "these new shitheads can't generate threat worth a damn" conclusion I reach during Gluth.

In 25 man I will confirm that hatefuls only go to #2 and #3 on his hatelist, and after it determines that it goes by health.
I coulda sworn that getting hit by a hateful strike boosted your threat too.

It does. If you let your tanks get Hateful Strike'd about 1-2 times, there is no reason, if they are at all competent, that they should ever lose that spot in the threat rankings.
So we cleared 3 wings + patchwerk tonight. Tried putting two ranged and a healer in the back and switching worked great on 4h. We can kill Grob and have only tried Gluth twice. This week we should finish up the 4 main wings. I had my tier7 shoulders drop tonight which was sweet. Anyways, thanks for the advice from those that gave it.
Just saying it like it is. Died not to long into the fight with 22k health from hateful srike, starting dpsing after some of the other ones, too.
yeah, I'm not trying to accuse you of lying. I'm just saying that if melee are getting hit by hatefuls, it means that either 1) you have more threat than you thought you had, or 2) tank death.

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to have a loot system that has main spec priority?
Yeah.
I didn't want the item. But it still pisses me off. Because if one of our casters had more DKP than him and paid DKP for Life and Death? Jackass would have then been in a position to get The Turning Tide when it drops.

Just like I lost The Turning Tide to a Holy Pally.
I will argue in jest that holy paladins are bitches who should stick to bitch maces, but in the end I don't have a problem with one of them getting one of the caster swords.
Prot paladins for offspec, on the other hand, ugh.

One is for Paladin Healers.
One is for Mages and Warlocks.
Welcome to Spellpower/Healing homogenization. Where weapons really no longer have a specific class they go to. While it is true one may be a bit better for one class over another, that should limit their choice of upgrades?
Besides, everyone knows the Torch is now for Enhancement Shamans, being their current Best In Slot and all (or at least tied with Calamity's Grasp).

i can't tell which of you is being sarcastic, but I hope to god the last two posts weren't serious.
The torch is a vastly inferior Holy Paladin weapon. Mp5 is the one of the last things you want to be looking for, and crit is one of the absolute tops.
And seriously, a 1.8 speed mainhand with caster weapon dps? My sarcasm meter must be broken, but then there's someone here trying to say that turning tide isn't a holy paladin weapon sooooooo.

I think that at particular moments one can assess the utility an item would provide to the overall raid if given to particular characters. Maybe there is a time to give a healing paladin The Turning Tide. Maybe that is a sensible move at some point. But I can't see the sense in them going with the bonus to haste as opposed to the bonus to Mp5. Or maybe it is sensible.
But in the particular situation about which I am bitching? yeah, I don't want a paladin who is primarily a tank to take a fucking caster sword from mages and warlocks who NEED it.

I was being half serious and half sarcastic. I didn't claim the Torch was better for paladins, I just said (in general) weapon A may be better than weapon B for a class, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't take weapon B if it's an upgrade.
But the Enhance Shaman thing is all too real. It has to do with the scaling ability of caster spells and Flametongue weapon as Enhance. The recent change to the Windfury glyph almost made Flametongue on a caster mainhand the uncontested winner, but since they apparently left in the ghost +40% Ap to WF attacks in the glyph, they're about neck and neck. So the Torch and the claw are actually comparable depending on your gear.
That being said, I was rather kidding calling the Torch an Enhancement weapon. I sure as hell wouldn't take it over a caster who needed it. I actually am using the KT10 mace as my mainhand and a dagger in my offhand both with flametongue (One has to be flametongue rank 9 due to a very minor "cooldown" on the same rank). In raids with both caster and melee synergy buffs, it outperforms KT10 claw. The initial post by me in that quote tree was also sarcasm, just for the record.
Don't be retarded. The Holy Fire mace is inferior for a holy paladin; mana/5 is one of our worst stats that still applies to us at all, just barely above spirit. Turning Tide is as much a holy paladin's weapon as caster dps's.
(edit) sigh, forgot to update the damn screen again before posting. Laaaaate.
Our balance druid doesn't really do fantastic dps, but it might be a gear issue, so I don't really know. His dps isn't bad though, so I'm not going to complain, and he does give nice buffs.
He did get the Torch of Holy Fire, which pissed one of our shaman off (ironically the only shaman who already had it).
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
Agreed. Turning Tide is as much a Holy Paladin's weapon as anyone else's. One of our holy paladins got the second one that dropped (according to our dkp site; maybe some dropped in alt Naxx), and I don't think anyone could argue that it could have gone to better use in the hands of one of our mages (except maybe our mages, but nobody cares what our mages think).
Wow, nice Adda. I would like to raid with people capable of such things. Perhaps some day...
Your guild name is interesting. What's that all about?
Really Aldarez, that we manage such things suprises me. We've had ex members leave and slam us for the quality of the player base so it's great that we can push on through to do this.
Well I originally played with 'Blackrock Mining Company' (best guildname ever) and they joined with 'Trial and error' to become the cheesy 'Fused'. There was another guild on alliance called 'Fate has fans' and they wanted in on the merger action in TBC so the guild turned into 'Fused has fans'.
It does always break my heart to hear of people struggling to find good guilds. We are in the top 150 world to get heroic glory done yet we struggle to get good apps. o_O

My current health would also be lower than everyone else's, seeing as how melee doesn't take damage, except for ret paladins.

Yeah you will. As soon as the healers don't top off the tanks fast enough you are dead.

Yeah.

Which one is for balance druids?
Hint: Blizzard fails at itemization.

Oh man. Balance druids. That's a good one. Druids...as caster dps....
Oh....oh man....i have to catch my breath here...
Edit: Seriously, though. That was really funny.

Fuck you buddy, I'm not putting up CoE. (And all our DKs went frost or blood
More importantly though:
The same problem goes for shadow priests and elemental shaman.

I make the other warlock put up CoE.
What other warlock?
(I'm only half kidding.)
Anyhow, that doesn't change that Torch of Holy Fire appears to be best in slot for any caster who can't use swords. GG ilvl 226.
Alrighty.
