Watched the last show today.
That ending was hells of gay. I'd of rather had Starbuck, Lee, Caprica Six, Boomer and Chief become the 1st iteration of power rangers than the damned stupid "god did it, shit be cyclical" bullshit.
Really if shit be that cyclical then god has no imagination

Also they totally skimped on the effects budget for the finale and all of the CG for this episode looked like it was straight out of a 1999 high school graphics course.

After reading some of the various commentaries its like there are people out there who are honestly just pissed off that the ending was relatively happy.
Like thats what I've boiled down a decent chunk of the arguments to. There are plenty of valid arguments pro or con, yada yada, listen, not accusing anyone here specifically of this, but there's honestly people out there who are just being malcontent dicks. I cannot fathom such behavior.
There are a lot of really legitimate criticisms, and I can really accept that a lot wouldn't be happy the way some things were resolved. I, myself really liked it despite there being quite a few decisions I disagreed with.
However, there are some people fixating on the most incredibly retarded insignificant shit.
Reading the D&D thread actually made me say "what the fuck" with a grimace of disgust on my face.
The internet has to try really hard to make me say "what the fuck" outloud.
there were some people hating on the end for retarded reasons
there were some equally retarded people bashing the shit out of anyone who disliked the ending.
Yes but then we got a 10 page argument about how the ending sucked because the colonials were never prepared for the scourge of EBOLAIDS.
That is quite literally the part that made me curse aloud with surprise and revulsion. Like, you just watched a show where a toddler drawing dots with crayon gave you mystical coordinates to a garden world and you're arguing... abou... wha I... [at this point rage and confusion takes over completely]

Also I would have destroyed the cylon baseship and ever last centurion, Hera, every last cylon and everything not human and would have set the cycle back thousands of years by pushing everything back to humans only

I said it before, but i'll say it again. I fucking called this ending almost half a month in advance on here since I knew it was coming. The BSG series finale special just confirmed it for me.
What I want to know is whether they had this all planned out roughly, some time in advance, or if the entirety of the plot was written on the fly. It seems like the latter, from the series finale special, but considering how many mysteries and ideas that this show tried to explore, that seems kind of foolish, considering that they only really started to end things in the last season.
Edit: I wouldn't mind seeing Tigh being a power ranger. Give him some sort of battle-axe and he can be Power Odin or something. Would have made for a more interesting finale, at least.

If he's going to be power Odin, it should be a spear.

If you give him a spear, there's always the remote chance that he could trip up and lose the other eye, though.
Besides, how many badass vikings do you know that wielded spears?
Edit: Mythological references aside, this is Power Odin that we're talking about here. It's like comparing the Super Devil to the Devil.

Moore said he knew he would have the show end on Earth years ago.
I thought it rocked ... but judging from the humongus whinefest which is going on all over the intarwebz, RDM probably ruined a lot of childhoods with this ... :?
i'm curious why people would think this episode was any good
there were two good things that occurred: robots fighting other robots, and tyrol strangling that bitch
other than that it was just incoherent and awful.
That was the highlight of the episode for me. I'd hated that bitch for a looooong fucking time. It was good to see her get hers by the dude she used to be in love with but couldn't remember because her memory was all fucked up by Dean Stockwell.

Has Olmos now been in the only two pieces of sci-fi to use the term skin-job?
Like, woah maaan

taking robot fighting into account, if adama had just chokeslammed cavil to death, i would have given the finale a pass, honestly.
She killed Cally! That must at least partially make up for whatever it was that she did.
cally was annoying
BUT
killing her made Tyrrol sad.
the man didn't need any more sad.
The CG for the older centurians was horrible
just
no breaks at all
Was anyone surprised when she turned out to actually be a robot?
The most obvious of the final five.
so im guessing she really did die and got brought back by god?
is that what we were supposed to infer?
