Let me put it this way: you don't have any. Other than doing something illegal. So pony up for charity.

    Orly?
There is the PA auction, there is the Harmonix auction, and there are a couple of other non-auction contests I believe (check the GH Army myspace page, or the official GH forums).

And as I said before, I have no problems helping the charity, but if I don't win that auction, I was hoping there would be other ways to win/purchase tickets.

... and he's telling you there aren't any other ways. It's ... pretty cut and dry.

I'd be really tempted to bid, but I already have plans for the 18th and my wife would kill me if I ditched a dinner party to go play pretend guitar with my Internet friends. Besides, I'm having a fiesta this weekend at our place for such an occasion! :D I'll be sure to post videos and pics from our drunken orgy of ROCK.

EDIT: Actually, what songs do you guys think are the best ones for co-op for newcomers to the game? I'm kind of wondering if the setlist for GH2 isn't a bit too heavy for the guests I'm having (it's a weird assortment of people).

Yes it is. He gave me other ways besides the PA auction. The Harmonix auction, and some other non-auction contests he suggested checking out. Those are other ways.

Good sweet lord yes. My favorite non-Guitar Hero rhythym game. The tunnel makes it better than Amplitude, even if the song list isn't quite as good, imho.

Surrender is pretty good, I think. And it's recognizable.

yeah i hated that change so much in amplitude. having to rush all the way from one side to the other, inevitably ruining a combo made things way too frustrating.

I'd try more of the alternate tracks if they let you play them in quick play mode and not just in Co-Op. There HAS to be a way to do it...It makes no sense really.

If you're looking for a way to play bass/rhythm in other than coop/practice modes, don't waste your time; it ain't there.

When this first came up in design (which I generally don't get involved in, see, I'm just a lowly graphics coder), I protested. Thought it was a stupid artificial limitation.

But in the end, the "game is about the guitarist, not the band", or something like that. So there you have it. :( To a certain extent I can understand, since there isn't a full bass nor rhythm career... but I couldn't see why not at least in quickplay. Oh well... maybe the future...

Yeah. I don't really care about the career, but it makes sense to put it into quickplay... :|

Oh well. I hope they come to their senses for Guitar Hero Thwii.

I'm currently using Clive with the Eyeball guitar. (5 starred all of hard baby)

The bonus songs are pretty sweet this time around too. I haven't gotten around to playing all of them yet but Arterial Black is awesome, less talk more rock is awesome but hand-raping, and many of the others are awesome as well, including Yes We Can.

Dick Dale, suck on this! (Not really).

All I can say, is that as much as you practice it, you won't beat it until you've given your arm rest.

For some reason I find "Beast and the Harlot" (verse section or whatever) to be tougher on my strumming arm than Misirlou. I dunno, maybe i'm just tired by then or something but I have an easier time hitting streaks in Misirlou than in B&tH.

Actually, Misirlou is the first of the last tier that I've beaten.

BatH is just too much for me in terms of notes right now. If Misirlou was longer I would't be able to beat it

yeah I found misirlou to be the easiest in the last tier by far.

hangar 18 took me about 10 tries.
I 3-starred Misirlou on my first attempt.

Hangar 18 wasn't that hard. Sure there are alot of solos, but the solos are exceptionally short and theres usually enough really easy parts between the solos to rebuild your bar. Beast and the Harlot is fairly easy except for the main riff part, which does wear out your hand. Institutionalized has really insane guitar parts and was pretty hard. Free Bird is easy so long as you use your star power well.
