Ah. I haven't seen enough of GH2 to know if the 11 is on there.
In GH1, like I said, the amp's 3 knobs all go up to 11 before the game starts, and one of the tooltips is that "11 IS greater than 10."
Yeah I haven't seen any of that in 2. There's even a Spinal Tap song in the game, which I kind of figured the loading screen would have mentioned something about cranking it up to 11. But nay .

Hey, Moss. You'll be proud -- according to Score Hero i'm, like, 1400th on that site. A lot better than I thought I'd be. I even have a couple of 6-star rankings in Guitar Hero.

Oh god, I'd forgotten all about Scorehero. I wonder ...
... Wow, they've really expanded. I'm now, like, 1440th place on some songs. :P At least I'm at 120th for my 100-percent Story of My Love score, and my Texas Flood is at 130! I remember the days of double-digits ...
I don't even want to put my GH2 scores in there, for fear of shattering my ego.
13 year old kids are... I'm sure... better at this game than me. I'm just super-exited to have beaten Psychobilly Freakout on expert the other night.
When it's close to midnight and you have to be up at 5:30 in the morning... there's nothing sweeter than throwing up the horns in celebration.
Scorehero would take all that away from me
I only put in my scores after I got, like, 10 5-stars on Expert. Actually, what spurred it was a 98% song that I completely owned at, and blew my old score out of the water by 100k. I'm like 800th on Score Hero with that one.
I wouldn't put up by GH2 songs instantly. For one, it's cumbersome. And secondly, I use Score Hero to see how close I am to 4- or 5- starring something, and not much else.
Edit: AHAHAH! I mis-typed the word "score" and didn't notice it.
All this scorehero talk reminded me that 360 leaderboards are gonna be awesome.
That really is a killer feature. I would care far more about how my scores fare with people I know than I would with faceless Internet people. (Although there is a blend of the two there.) The main thing that kills Score Hero for me is the paperwork. When I was trying to 5-star all of Expert in the first game, I would jot my scores down all the time on a pad of paper by my TV, then just transfer them to online, but the thought of being able to omit that step makes me very, very jealous of the 360.
Scorehero does still serve a purpose for some of the fans, even in the presence of the leaderboards.
The leaderboards are nice because they're darned quick and easy... but are pretty much score-only. Whereas scorehero collects all the data, then some math-dudes start getting statistical all over the data and figuring out 6+ star cutoffs, etc.
Though, personally, the leaderboards will be enough for me. I had recorded some of my GH1 scores there, had managed to get up to around 500th place for a while (expert), but kept sliding back down if I didn't keep improving. My current rank there is 921 overall for Expert; stopped recording/playing regularly (and it was a pain to submit scores anyway, not exactly the best interface, and slow server).

Those scores are pretty much what I'd be throwing up too... see Live is going to be cool because I will probably be able to compete with guys like you on the friends leaderboard but not with some of the other real heros out there.
Before Score Hero got as big as it is now, I enjoyed 15 minutes at #30 on the expert boards for GH1. For Farewell Myth, I even had the #5 score for a few days. I shudder to think what I am now, though. I checked recently to see what my 225k score on YYZ was, and that put me at around 85th place for that song, so I think I'd do OK, but there are way too many people out there dominating the game for me to actually consider competing. I mean, hell, I can't even beat Jordan or Six. :P
You dudes that were talking about no Spinaltap reference in GH2 need to go to the audio options menu.
It was like that in the first game, too.
Anyways, is it just me or is Laid To Rest a godly song to just let loose on? It hits that part where its like G,G,R,Y,B,G,G then switches up and repeates a few times and I nail that star power and start thrashing around the room. Good clean fun!

I use hangar 18, madhouse, or carry me home for all my 'flip the fuck out' needs. LTR just doesnt quite do it for me.

Haha, Hangar 18 is me ego boost song. At least, till the second to last or so solo, the one the goes three and then the end buttons and repeats up and down the board. Aggrivates me.
But yeah, Laid To Rest is generally what I play when I want to just let it all out and start going insane with it.
Thunderhorse is a good runner-up for that 'all-or-nothing' award, just because once it hits its solos its up and down and looks incredibly difficult and is so much fun to land. Plus, Deathklok is just awesome.
Moss said they can't do "just" an add-on pack because of the architecture of the game.
Anyway, I hope it's not a rumor. And I hope there's a good chunk of junky pop '80's music and not just '80's metal. Hell, just take the Vice City soundtrack and port that bitch over.
That achievement list is very cool. Although holy shit:
[spoiler:4ae945bc13]Kick the Bucket Award -- 30 -- Beat Jordan on Expert[/spoiler:4ae945bc13]
That one should be worth a shitload more than 30 points.

I think what I said... (I'm not going back through pages and pages to confirm)... is that with the PS2, there isn't any true "expansion pack", since the console reboots when ejecting a disc. Which means the so-called "exp pack" disc has to really be the whole game with the new content.
I also probably said that it just usually doesn't happen. Since you've got do put out the same game with new content, sure some of your effort could be considerably less, but you've still got to QA, new title ID, go through cert, etc, a lot of publishers will just go add a bit more everything, and just call it the next sequel, go a full dev cycle on it, charge full price, and reduce the risk.
If they're going to do what is essentially the full game with only a little new content, charge less, .... I think the perceived value back is reduced. Then again, all the above is, to a certain extent, speculation on my part, backed by the bit of experience I have in the industry. Of course, I could just be stupid, too.
So, as far as an 80's pack for Guitar Hero.... I know nothing. :P I'm busy working on other things.
Eject doesn't reboot I don't think unless that's how the game is coded.
Regardless what you said a while back made sense... the song is loaded along with the venue so most if not all the game files would have to be on the 'expansion' disc anyway.
It would have to be a complete game... but what does make sense is that the 'work' has been done on GH2 which is near perfect... from a development standpoint doing something like replacing a setlist and slapping a new label on the DVD should be a no-brainer considering the 'plug-in' foresight they've given to downloadable content for the 360 version.
Played a bunch over at a friend's the other night. Took me a while, but I finally started getting through stuff on Hard. The Freezepop song's chorus is rough.

You are not alone. Yeah, its hard on the last two difficulties, but that doesn't make it not fun to play or listen to.

In some weird freak accident of fate I 99%'d Freebird on Hard the first time I tried it.
I have no idea how that happened.

Institutionalized has an awesome guitar part. I don't know what you guys are talking about. Its certainly more fun to play than Misirlou.
On Scorehero, I'm 564th on Expert on GH and 382nd on Expert on GH2.
My guess is that it's simply an addon-pack featuring the songs that 360 users can get from the marketplace.

GOD! I wish I had the money for a 360. I'm starting to think that my buying a PS2 for GH1 & 2 was short lived...
