I need a Macro

Hi,
I want to start a chess league so I need a good macro or spreadsheet or something that will let me keep track of everyone's win/loss record and assign them a rank. There may be random people who play once or twice as well so it needs to be flexible enough to add as many people as i need whenever I need to. I also need a point system that would be fair for a wide range of skill levels.

pretty tall order huh?

Excel does all that. I'm not sure why you would want to mess with macros, though. The only part that's even vaguely tricky is deciding how you want to make your point-system work, everything else is just the stuff they teach in those "basic computing" classes they tried to make me take in high school.

Mind if I throw in a macro request here?

To be honest, I don't even know what a macro is, but I heard it from The Office - I need something that will do a find & replace in any program, not just Word. For example, from the Office, "Schrute" into "Poop". If I can save it to a thumb drive to put on other computers, that'd be great.

Macros work across a single program, or a suite of programs (like Office). What you're asking for can't be done in an Office macro.

Or you could get a program like ezmacro which I have used to save myself uncountable work hours while in the Marines using a bunch of programs.

I usually just had ezmacro record my actions (ctrl-c, alt-tab, ctrl-v, enter, enter, alt-tab, down, for example) and then just set playback speed and let it go. Very handy and NOT limited to one suite of programs.

What about as a keyboard macro? Could I get something that would do it in MSN Messenger?

And can I put it on a thumbdrive and run it on other computers quickly (5 min or less) and take the thumb drive out?

What you're asking for is very possibly illegal and very definitely a nuisance. Drop it.
