I always end up accidentally starting the Jahira romance subplot unintentionally.
I'm like, 'stop being useless and get over yourself, Jahira!'
Then the next thing I know, she's all like 'so, hey, do you like an independant woman?'
and then I'm all like 'What? No! Bros before hos, man. I can't date anyone who was dating someone in my party. It's like, against the wingman code of conduct, or something.'
yeah but khalid is probably into that kind of stuff. I mean look at the guy, he's a goddamn natural bottom.
Now I'm hearing "Jah... Jaheira... No! Noooo!" in an entirely different light!

For Planescape:Torment fans, I saw this today, which sounds fuck awesome.
Over at Spellhold Studios, Qwinn has released the new versions of his three mods: Planescape: Torment Fixpack, Unfinished Business, and Qwinn’s Tweaks.
The fixpack is a massive fixing of hundreds of bugs and typos in the game, ranging from minor issues to gigantic game-lessening ones, including “TNO’s hit point gain and THACO and the entire morale system, which makes fear spells work as they should and Dak’kon’s sword upgradable as it was meant to be.”
Unfinished business takes the nearly finished content that was released when the game was, finishes up a bunch of it, polishes it, and fixes the associated bugs. It restores dozens of banters, characters, quests, and items.
Lastly, Qwinn’s Tweaks adds several ease-of-use tweaks, and the much-anticipated banter accelerator, which will allow players to experience all 78 of the fully voiced banters that shipped with the game, rather than the 12 that—for some reason—were the only ones that showed up in the retail release.
Dude I was JUST thinking about Torment the other night but decided not to play through it again because of all that buggy shit. I am going to have to give this a go, now. Good lord that sounds great.

I know, right?
I am punching my dick right now that I don't have a copy of this game anymore. It is easily my favourite Bioware/Obsidian game, but for some reason* it's the only one I don't own.
*Reason: A friend borrowed it and then had it stolen and sold for drug money by his younger brother.

Dude, a while back I found our original six-disc set case for BG, that old foldout paper case. For some reason the discs we had in it were copies. God we treated those discs terribly when we first got them.

God, how many FF7s and Baldur's Gates did we buy
BG2 too, even.
Mori's gonna finish this (and I will make him) but what with Christmas party tomorrow and family Christmas the day after and a day of shopping and cooking for the wedding after that and then the wedding the day after that and then the days after that generally being married and the in-laws wanting to see San Francisco and the redwoods Mori's probably not going to update for a week or so.

I will try to at least play tomorrow, though, so when I do update it won't take terribly long!

Sounds like a good list of reasons.
All of this is making me wish I played Baulder's Gate back in th' day. Mebbe I'll go grab a copy.

I'ma get back to this at the end of the week, I think. I'd say I could do some updates today but family is still here so I'd like to spend time with 'em before they go back to Merry Old England
I'm thinking I might have to artificially lower my party reputation through ShadowKeeper to keep Korgan from leaving. I'd just let him go, or kill a drifter, but I'm in the Underdark.
As a side note, the Drow Mage's Duels are pretty funtimes.

After the battle with the bandits, we decided to take a little break and go adventuring! South of that big temple by Beregost there were ruins of this old school! I don't really like school, but ruins are, like, sooo cool!
There was, like, this spoooky stair up there and I was like "Hmm I wonder if there are any monsters here in this old ruined school?"
I was, like, totally right too! Some skeletons were all "We're gonna kill you!" And I was like "Nuh-uh, you're just skeletons!"
And then this mean old skeleton started talking to Janty!
He was, like, so easy to kill though.
There wasn't really much in the actual school, just, like, zombies and stuff. Gross!
But then we saw, like, this staircase down, and there was this old ghost dude just hanging out nearby! I was like "Helloooo?"
: The Best Of Schools...
: Oh hi! You seem nice! My name's, like, Buffy!
:... A storehouse of arcane knowledge...
: Ummm... are you even, like, listening to me?
: ... Lost, all lost... a common dungeon, now...
: Or are you, like, crazy or something? I guess you are, since you're all dead and stuff.
: ... All for knowledge did we strive... nothing left... Hope would return with the retrieval of the simplest of tomes... beneath the rubble... on the lowest floors... return hope... history is so important...
: Um, earth to ghost dude! I guess we have to find you those books, maybe you won't be all, like, crazy then.
: ... we shall all live again... someday...
: Okay, see ya!
We took a nap before going into that spooky dungeon, and Kivy started talking to me!
: The stars are falling. A rare and precious sight, yet it fills my soul with sadness and longing.
: Yeah, but, like, we're all gonna die like these stars are falling! It's not like we're all immortal and stuff!
: Buffy, when I was watching the falling stars, my heart reminded me of Daoine Teague Feer. But I felt naught but sorrow, recalling what once had been my greatest joy.
: What's that thing?
: Daoine Teague Feer is a celebration of Shilmista, and my people's love for it. There is a sacred hill we call Daione Dun - the Hill of the Stars. It raises high in the middle of the Forest of Shadows, and its top is so close to the sky that one can almost touch the stars from atop it. My people gather there sometimes on a starlit night, led by our liege, and we sing to Shilmista. When the song ends, the king showers us with stardust and gives us his blessing. The world turns a-glitter and the voice of Shilmista whispers to every heart. It feels like standing under the fall of myriads of stars. It is the most beautiful memory I have, and yet I am disquieted by it.
: Wow, that sounds, like, soooooooo pretty! It sounds like you miss it, Kivy.
: I do not miss the place, Buffy. However, I do miss those whose shadows still linger there. My Deheriana, my brothers, my father... You have your own ghosts, though, Buffy, and you have no need to meet up with mine. Khila amin - follow me, we should check up with the rest.
The dungeon was all spooky and smelled kind of funny. But I was like, I can take a strange smell if it means I get cool treasure!
The treasure was mostly on dead bodies. I guess they were people that died there trying to find treasure? I was all, sucks to be you! But you're not using this so I'll take it, okay? And since you're dead you can't say no!
There were some seriously spooky creatures in there! Like dread wolves, they're totally mean and not even a little cute!
Also, spiders, which are sooo gross and I got webs in my hair and it was nasty!
And oozes, which are, like, mega nasty! All oozing down in my perfectly combed hair and stuff!
Then there was this wolf with, like, glowing red eyes and it had vampire teeth! Kivy said it was a vampiric wolf, whatever that means.
And then there were, like, piles of dead bodies! One of them had a book, though, so I was like "Even though this is totally gross, I'm taking it so that ghost dude can be at peace or something."
: ... Knowledge returns with these simple words on parchment... to teach once more... in a celestial class... I will prevent the same from happening... some day...
: Oh, you're totally welcome!
xoxo,
Buffy

I really want that $9 BG set, haha. The discs would be shitty though, it'd be sweet if the BG2 DVD collection were cheaper.
So greedy with free entertainment.

Also, I'm playing Baldur's Gate II with my main character as a Chaotic Neutral Thief. I never before realized how much backstabbing is.
Also, thanks to this thread I've decided to play through the entire saga for the first time. As a Kensai Mage.

Then again, I haven't done anything but a straight run through the main quest since about 2000.
Also now that I am gainfully unemployed I can update this more often! You guys lucked the fuck out!
