I already have, like, two magic warhammers so we ended up selling this one.
We gave this shield to Khalid since he needed something to, like, cower behind. I don't blame him since Jaheria is, like, his wife!
I sooooooo wanted to keep this long sword but then I was like "Well, nobody knows how to, like, use it, so I guess it'd be pointless!"
Since Imoen's all serious about being a mage and stuff I gave her this as a gift!
We totally had all these cool arrows, so I gave them to Kivy since he could use them!
He also got this, like, totally awesome bow! I was soooooo jealous of him!
Janty and I had this totally sweet conversation - I think I've got a cruuuush!
: Lady Buffy, we have combined our forces to bring criminals to justice. I have seen you fighting and I know how you have treated our enemies so far. But what will you do once we face the mastermind, the one responsible for all the evil goings-on, maybe even the murderer of your foster father Gorion?
: Like, I dunno? That's totally a hard question to answer because like, I don't want to be all blind to vengeance and stuff, but I also want to punish him and stuff!
: This is a good approach, my lady, and a righteous one. I commend you for that. We will fight them until there are beaten and lie broken at our feat. But should those evil doers surrender, I will help you to bring them to a proper court of law. There they will feel the power of justice! I swear by my honor! And if I say honor, lady Buffy, then remember: My honor is my life!
: Like, totally! You're soooo sweet, Janty, and I looove having you with me!
: Thank you for the compliment, my lady. I am very happy we met... and combined our forces. Tell me: What do honor and justice mean to you?
: Honor is, like, soooo important! I'd never hurt any of my friends.
: And justice?
: Oh, totally! It's like, you have to punish the evil people! And also people who wear, like, totally grody clothes.
: My lady, in you I have found a like-minded comrade. I'm proud to fight by your side. Let us move on and carry out our duty.
We went to Gullykinn next, which is a halfing village! I looove halflings, their houses are sooo cute!
I like visiting their villages and stuff, but they usually get angry at me because I'm all "Aww!" when I see one and then I pet thbem and they get all offended and I'm like "It's a compliment, you jerks!" But I made a promise to be extra-good this time.
I was all like wooo ruins! Ruins mean totally sweet treasure!
I don't really drink wine but apparently it's a part of their religion or something because their temple is actually in their winery! How cute is that?
The secret door was, like, sooo obvious! Like, I don't even know how to be a thief and I could see it!
The Firewine ruins looked soooo much like Ulcaster I was like "Oh my gods, is this the same place?"
Then there was like some skeleton dude who came up to me in armor and was like "KILL ME TAKE THE ARMOR!"
And I was like "Okay!"
Then I found these ghostly knights and they were all like "Hey, that's our armor, we're taking it back, okay?" And I was like "Ummm, okay?"
After that we fought some orgillions, kobolds, and a mage! But they didn't stand a chance against Buffy and Co! I'm totally calling us that now, it's catchy!
Then this ogre mage came out - I guess he was the big leader of all the kobolds and stuff? He was all "I'M GONNA KILL YOU"
But I was like "Nope!" Kivy is soo cool, he killed him in, like, one hit! I was all like "Whoa, remind me not to get on your bad side, dude!"
We found this staircase up and I was like, "Finally, some fresh air! My hair's totally getting all messed up from drying in this air!"
But then we ended up in some gnome's home and I was like "Hey, you're letting them in here, you jerk!"
And then he was like "Yeah, I'm a jerk, so I'm gonna kill you!" And again, I was all "Nope!" Everyone's all thinking they can kill me but they're soooo lame!
And then Gabblegar thanked us and gave us some gold! He's sooo sweet!
Xoxo,

It's weird, I remember the dungeons in vanilla BG1 being a lot more interesting, but I guess they were pretty boring.
I'm looking forward to trying Durlag's Tower, since I never actually did that in my previous runthrough. That'll probably be one of the last things I do, though.

The side quests and extraneous stuff packed into Baldur's Gate reminds me of what a good rpg it was.
I wish Fable 2 had more shit like that.
Maybe I should just pick up Morrowind again and try and finish the main story.
Fucking Fable 2, I played for a couple hours last night just trying to find some goddamn monk robes and a couple books I needed for the Box of Secrets in the DLC.

How much is there to the Fable 2 DLC?
Are the quests & dungeons big, or is it simple stuff?
Not really, no! It's actually fairly disappointing - three dungeons and 100 points of new achievements, along with some new items (scar removers, height/shortness potions, etc) and a few new outfits and such.
I think it would have been better priced at 400 points, because honestly there's not a whole lot to it. The Box Of Secrets (where you trade common items for special stuff) is kinda neat, though, and some of the new augments seem interesting, if I ever even used augmented weapons.
Also, whoever designed the dungeons has a huge boner for flit switches. Shit is everywhere in them.
So I just discovered Mass Effect. Wow, I totally passed on this game when it came out because the ads made it look like Halo 2.5 or something... I was still half expecting that, and instead I get this masterfully epic space drama. Color me pleasantly surprised!

Yeah, he just wasn't selling it when I checked a bunch of times, but I eventually finally got it.
I just have two more things to find (3 crunchy chicks and Regal Purple Dye) and then I'll have finished the Box of Secrets, yay.
But yes have you played through it all yet because if you haven't and you think it's epic now, wait until the end!
Also this thread inspired me to play through BG2 again 8-)
I can't wait until I can be killing dragons!
Frown... I have to do work for a while, hopefully sometime this week I'll be able to get back into Mass Effect, though.
BG2 is definitely a spring break project I'm looking forward to. I've been gaming on a 24" imac, and sometimes have trouble with drivers and such on the Windows partition. No idea if BG2 will work or not.

The Bowerstone Market vegetable vendor sells 'em.
I've got the crunchy chicks, now I just need the fucking purple dye.

Funny we ended up playing the same character.
Yeah man. Funny, but not that surprising. The only thing that differentiates us is about six years of intense study of philosophy and logic instead of japanese and cigarettes. Also the piercings.
My party is getting along sooo well! I think Kivy and Janty were flirting, sooo cute!
We went to the blacksmith in Beregost, since we'd killed and Ankheg and he was like "Hey, I can make you armor... For mega dollars!" And I was like "Well, I already have armor but I guess Kivy could use some!"
: : I would give my life if I could destroy all evil around us with one stroke of my sword. Haven't you felt that way sometimes?
: Like, totally! The world is, like, soooo mean sometimes! It'd be sooo rad if we could do that!
: : Indeed, my lady. All this sorrow... I know it is a pointless thought, impossible to realize. I only wished to put into words the feelings that overwhelm me when I look at people's misery. I became a paladin to stand against the evil that poisons our world. In this battle, every contribution counts. Every good act, even the smallest one, leads the world on the path of righteousness! But, the more I see, the more experience I gain, the clearer it becomes to me that it is an endless conflict... For every wrong-doer I destroy, for every enemy I beat, there are new ones!
: : Awww, don't give up, Janty! Evil hasn't, like, won yet! It's not like the world's going to end, we don't even know what's going to, like, happen tomorrow!
: : Your words ring true and comfort me. I thank you. I have lost neither my faith nor my motivation lady Buffy. I only wanted to share my thoughts with you and thank you for a time.
: : You're so sweet! How'd you become a paladin, anyway?
: : I was... filled with this desire, for lack of another term, my lady. Helm has held sway over my heart since the first moment I beheld his glory, and it is in His name that I do good. There is simply no other way for me to be. I studied diligently at the church of Helm and practiced my swordsmanship. One of my teachers was Myrmith Splendon, of whom you might have heard. One day, I had a dream: Helm spoke to me and told me that I was worthy to serve him. I went directly to the local chapter of the Order of the Most Radiant Heart, and now I am here.
: : I'm like, soooo jealous! It's like you totally know what you want to do... I was just like "Well, uh, I can like swing my sword pretty well and stuff, so I guess I'll be a fighter!"
: : I thank you, my lady. That is my desire. Let us return to our duties then!
: : At times like these, when the sun is standing low, spreading its red light across the land, the beauty and uniqueness of this world comes to mind even stronger than usual. I have found it to be a motivation not to hesitate in the crucial fight against evil! In moments like these I gain strength for this fight. The sun is illuminating you, too, with its special light, my lady...
: : Aww, you're so sweet, Janty!
: : You are a very impressive woman, my lady. I mean, as the leader that you are. We... should move on and not neglect our duties!
We found this super grumpy gnome... or dwarf lady. She was all "Huh if you're adventurers then kill those ogres!"
So we totally did!
I killed some hobgoblins too!
What a biiiitch!
Then this guy couldn't even kill some little xvarts! I, like, kill them by looking at them!
While I did this I was like, "Come on guy, you can totally kill them!"
The guy was totally nice, though, so it was okay. I totally wouldn't date him, though!
: : Do you know what "Shilmista" means in Common tongue?
: : That's, like, where you're from, right? I totally don't know... Oh, did you want to, like, tell me?
: : Yes. It is the name of my native land, mellonamin. It means the "Forest of Shadows". Lately I have been pondering.
: : About what, like, what it means, or something?
: : There is no hidden meaning, rather... a personal one. For me it is indeed full of shadows.
: : Do you mean like because you only go there at nighttime? Or is it one of those metaphor things?
: You have a sensitive heart, Buffy. Indeed, Shilmista is full of shadows of those whom I loved, and who are with me no more.
: : Oh, you're talking about your ex, aren't you? Total bummer about that.
: : Yes, the shadow of my beautiful Deheriana waits for me there, perhaps. I shall bring her the heart of her torturer and beg for forgiveness. There are two more shadows walking lightly among the trees - they belong to my brothers, who had fallen defending Shilmista against Orcish invasion.
: : Oooh, you've got brothers? I'll bet they're cuuuute... Well, were cute. Oops, sorry! Want to tell me about them?
Kivan: There was a great war in Shilmista some years ago. A sect worshipping Talona, the human goddess who has deserved her title as the Lady of Poison, created a secret enclave in the Snowflake Mountains, bordering Shilmista. They were poised to conquer the whole region: the Elven forest of Shilmista, the human settlement of Carradoon, and Edificiant Library. We fought bravely the orcish host they assembled, and the attack was repelled... but, alas, the cost we paid for freeing our homeland was many lives. My father, Echtellion, and my two brothers - Tinuvil and Arenel - were among the fallen.
: : That's, like, sooo sad! Is that why you left?
: : Buffy, could we leave this talk for another day? After years of silence I feel strange talking about my past...
: : Um, okay! You brought it up, though...
: : Amin hiraetha... I am sorry... I shall explain everything to you one day. Somehow I feel that you are given the strange power to judge people and their deeds. I wish I knew what is the source of this power...
This jerk tried to attack us and take our iron. I was like nuh-uh.
He totally sicced all his ugly jerk friends on us too, but they were no match for Buffy's Brigade! I like the sound of that, it's so brave sounding!
He had this totally cool enchanted sword, though, so I gave it to Kivy as an early birthday gift!
We found some sirenes on the coast. They're, like, total sluts and seduce the guys (and even girls, eew!) to attack their friends! But I found out that, like, if you send people there alone then they don't really have any affect. Janty is so sweet for doing that!
Then one of the bitches was all "Hey this is my turf!"
But Kivy (Who's almost as sweet as Janty, if only he wasn't so emo all the time!) totally killed her!
We found that the sirenes were guarding this spooky cave!
In it, there were these gross dudes that looked like big hot buff guys from far away, but when you got closer it was like "Eew, they're totally made of stitched-up human body parts!"
: : My lady, you may recall that I am from Waterdeep. Maybe our travels along the Sword Coast will lead us there one day. Have you ever been to the City of Splendors?
: : No, but I'd totally like to go there sometime! Is there, like, good clothing places there?
: : Waterdeep lies to the north of Baldur's Gate, on the Sword Coast. It is surrounded by the Sword Mountains to the North, by the Ardeep Forest to the east, and to the south by the Kryptgarden Forest and the River Dessarin, which flows into the sea south of the city boundaries. It's one of the biggest cities in Faerun, a cosmopolitan power, characterized by an open, tolerant spirit. Mount Waterdeep, the highest point of the city, with the Castle Waterdeep upon it, is to the west. The Trollwall surrounds the city on its east and north. To the south lies the great harbor. We Waterdhavians call it the City of Splendors, and it surely is, my lady. It is an important center of trade, and through trade, the townsfolk gained their wealth. The city is ruled by the Lords of Waterdeep, a council of sixteen members who keep their identities secret. The Lords only appear in public wearing masks, and are magically protected. There is only one umasked Lord: Piergiron the Paladinson, Warden of Waterdeep and Commander of the Watch. He is called the Open Lord of Waterdeep/
: : Eew, masks? But masks are, like, sooo ugly, why would they wear that?
: : This system of governing has its roots in Waterdhavian history, my lady. Do you mind if I tell you about it?
: : Um, not at all! Go ahead!
: : In earlier days, the north was a wild land, almost unsettled by humans. Only a few primitive tribes lived along the Sword Coast, ruled by warlords. Early Waterdeep was a human settlement, and they used the great natural deepwater bay as harbor for their town. At this time, and for an age afterwards, many battles were fought. Orcs, trolls, and other fell beasts threatened the human settlements. It was around 950 in Dale Reckoning, that a mage called Ahghairon became special advisor to Waterdeep's Warlord of that time. It was Ahgharion's magic that led to a great victory over the assailants. Ahghairon stopped the Warlord from founding a brutal Northern empire and became the first Lord of Waterdeep. He recruited others to rule the city with him, the Masked Lords. They wore masks in public, to keep their identity secret. From that time we have had a different way of counting the years than elsewhere in the North. It is called Northreckoning, and it starts with Ahghairon becoming the first Open Lord of Waterdeep. In Dale Reckoning, this would be the year 1032. Once, the Guild masters took over the city by brutally killing the majority of the Lords. It has only been ninety-five years since the surviving Lords beat them back. Waterdeep has been guided by their collective will ever since. The city is divided into seven Wards. Each of the wards has its own unique style. Naturally, they attract different sorts of people... The Waterdhavians are a mixture of different races, but most are human. Every day new people come, seeking their fortune, and only few ever leave again.
: : Wow, Janty, you really love Waterdeep! Did you, like, memorize a book on it or something? You should totally show it to me sometime...
: : Tell me about your home, lady Buffy. You grew up in Candlekeep?
: : Oh, totally! And it was, like, sooo boring! We didn't really have a whole lot, so I just read about everywhere else!
: : I envy you. I had good access to books myself, but Candlekeep's library is unique in its greatness.
: : It's okay, I guess. There's just stuff that's in every other town, like taverns and barracks and stuff.
: : I have never been to Candlekeep, my lady, but I would like to see it. Maybe our travels will lead us there, who knows? Let us move on.
We had some totally cool stuff from that cave. But every time we tried to sleep, more of those creepy stitched together guys would show up! They went down, like, sooo easily though!
: : My lady, as a squire I was responsible for my mentor's equipment, and gathered a lot of useful skills. I can prepare a comfortable sleeping place without effort, out of only a few blankets, for example. You, as our leader, have so many things you are responsible for already. Do you want me to take care of your bedroll tonight?
: : Like, um...
: That... might have sounded a bit odd, my lady. I was merely asking whether you want some help with... common necessities like preparing a resting place. I also did that for my mentor, as I already pointed out... I mean I helped him a lot too. Maybe it's not the best of ideas, my lady, but if you need any help feel free to seek my assistance.
We totally stayed there for, like, days! It was sooo cool, though, Imoen finally got to use her theif abilities again! Took her damn long enough...
And we got our Ankheg armor, which is sooo sweet and a nice shade of green!
This cloak was pretty cool, I guess Jaheira can have it.
The book was sooo full of helpful diet tips! I totally read it in, like, an hour!
Now I'm, like, tougher than ever before!
I totally forgot that there was this Xvart cave near the Gnoll fortress, and we went and got the other book, which was, like, sooo sweet!
So since we were finally all ready, we took off for the cloakwood!

We had some totally cool stuff from that cave. But every time we tried to sleep, more of those creepy stitched together guys would show up! They went down, like, sooo easily though!
I didn't even, like, see any cloaks anywhere!
Time to read.
