So I just built this new rig (with Vista Ultimate which may or may not be important in reference to this problem, from what I've read so far). I have a Linksys wireless pci adapter with an extended omni-directional antenna mounted on my desk puttin out 15db (as opposed to the 5db the card came with).
So there should be no connection problems, one would think. I'm overdoing what would be considered necessary for a good connection.
And yet, it seems as though sporadicaly when I click a link, it won't open and I have to close the tab and try again to get it to load. Latency in WoW is hovering between 300-500ms when my laptop with built-in card was getting around 100-150, and my girlfriends laptop (about 5 feet away from my computer) is getting about as good as that as well. There is no discernable reason why I should be having latency issues or the connection should be dropping.
After digging through my computer I found that Windows had decided it was a good idea to flag my wireless card as being a good thing to turn off to conserve power, so I unchecked that box and since then my connection hasn't actually just flat-out disconnected. I have however been kicked off of WoW after being on for 5 mins already.
Are there some settings or something I have to change to get Vista to behave properly? My OS is the only factor I haven't ruled out thus far, unless I have a bum wireless card (but then you'd think it'd either be all or nothin, not good most of the time but sometimes not). Is there a router setting I should change?

Any ideas, anyone?
If the BSOD happens again, try to write down the error code it gives you. For example:

After the STOP in this image, the first string of numbers (0x00000024) can often be very useful. If you plug them into Google, you'll usually find a Microsoft help article that tells you how to fix whatever problem is causing the crash, as well as tons of forum posts about people with the same problem.
I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the ASUS power management suite. The only thing I can think is that the wireless card is randomly being shut off and then turned back on. I disabled it so let's see what happens.
Hopefully (well, kinda hopefully) I get the BSOD again and I can see an error code that I can look in to.
I just updated he driver and it fixed the problem. Check the event manager under administrative tools under the control panel and see if there is a log there of the problem
