EDIT: WAIT, WHAT? BRUTAL LEGEND IS BEING PREMIERED? FUCK YES! I will be wearing all of my metal paraphernalia while watching this.
Though...seeing a few of the previous ones perhaps these arent the oscars of the gaming world as we had hoped
Edit: Lemme go find it.
Yeah, no. I am totally excited for Brutal Legend, though. As a ridiculously gigantic metalhead, as well as a fan of Schafer's work, I'm so fucking stoked. Guy even shares a name with Iced Earth's leadman.
I think the theme of the year is "diversity", contradicitons can be overlooked in the name of diversity
"Hi. I'm exactly like GTA 3 with kinda bad missions but better graphics..." - GTA IV
"Best game ever!!!" - Plebes
I did two searches and couldnt find one
Yeah but that was just a general thread baout the nominees, not about the show...The fact it had not been updated for a month implied as much
This is a thread about the show
Your OP is shinier anyhow.
They had L4D nominated for best shooter before the game was even released, I am pretty sure Mirror's Edge was nominated before it was released as well.
Not to mention the RPG section is a joke.
Wii Fit for best Wii game? Really?
I don't mind if Mountain Dew sponsors the show...they don't need to insert the stupid "fueled by Dew" onto Best Independant Game.
They still are heavily influenced by money, but it isn't as bad as when they first aired it.
It will be a beat em up featuring Rorshach & Nite Owl in a prequel to the graphic novel.
Zack Snyder grabbed up a producer credit in order to keep the game from (hopefully) being terrible.
I am cautiously optimistic.
I was scouting gametrailers and apparently the God of war trialer is only 20secs with minimal footage, a letdown
Spore (Wtf)
Crysis Warhead (Some more Wtf)
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (What the hell is this even doing here?)
Left 4 Dead
Holy shit this is badly done.
Currently playing: GW2 and TSW
I doubt it will be the same trailer as the one on Game Trailers.
This would be great if it's Rorshach only.
Who's the development team?
Also why would WAR be nominated for the RPG category and not the multiplayer one? It's an online PvP game first and foremost.
Crysis Warhead not being nominated in best graphics is confusing to say the least.
Why the fuck isn't TWEWY in the best handheld category along with the RPG one?
Fallout 3 should be in the best soundtrack category AND SHOULD WIN IT. Also Malcolm McDowell should be nominated in the "best performance by a human male" category and should win that too. Because after all, he's the president of your heart.
That's because there's Valkyria Chronicles.
Their only notable release is Total Overdose, which got mediocre to decent reviews for what was an over the top action game with little plot.
Although the whole thing is completely invalidated by the lack of Malcolm McDowell anyway.
Voted on by judges from 27(?) games sites and publications
Also apparently to distance themself from any fears of that Spike have taken precautions over who to accept advertisement from
Apparently

Fallout 3 - Has to be. LBP would only be GOTY for a segment of the gaming public, as it's not a cross-platform release. GTAIV met expectations, and played safely within well-explored territory from previous games in the series. Fallout 3 took risks, big risks, and succeeded beyond anyone's expectations.
Studio of the Year
Bethesda Game Studios - Follows the above.
Best Shooter
Left 4 Dead - Considering it's the only non-sequel and does more to distinguish itself from generic action games than the other titles on this list.
Best RPG
Fallout 3 - Again, follows the above. Also, Fable 2 sacrificed a bit too much in the name of accessibility, practically playing itself. A horrible inventory and skill management system didn't help, either.
Best Fighting Game
I'll sit this one out, having played Soul Calibur 4 for like a half-hour and never even trying the other games on this list.
Best Individual Sports Game
Same.
Best Handheld Game
Same. I liked what I played of Layton, but I must confess to using my DS more often as an alarm clock than a gaming system.
Best Graphics
Pass on this one, haven't played 3 of the titles.
Best Game Based on a Movie or a TV Show
None of the above. Honestly, when you put those four games on a list together, that Wall*E game starts looking tolerable by comparison.
Seriously though, I'm tempted to say The Force Unleashed. But I'm one of about eight people in the world who appear to like it.
Best Music Game
Toy Instrument Fad Hero
Best Driving Game
Where the fuck is Grid? You know what? Fuck these guys and their list.
Currently playing: GW2 and TSW
Edit: I actually Hate "Best of" lists like this where there's a number one, because these things are completely subjective, so I guess Spike succeeds in making me feel like a hypocritical moron.
Best PC game Crysis Warhead. bwahahahaha.
Yes. I am interested in every game that's being premiered save maybe Terminator, and even then I would like to be surprised by a good Terminator game, which if done right could be incredible.
There's also supposed to be a few surprises. I'm thinking more Ghostbusters.
@gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!
ra ra ra where is my favorite game!
ra rarrara real gamers!
I just summed up every list thread ever.
But, hey, brutal legend!
Yes.
