It could be due to a problem with your credit card declining after it was approved. They may think it is some sort of credit card fraud. I would just send them an email or call.
There will be, just not right now it seems. Either it was server trouble forcing Valve to revert, or a test before the actual thing, but there were at least a few people here who say it whilst it was up.

God, I hope L4D isn't actually like half off. Because then I'll feel dumb for having paid full price. Well, not really...I've had a fuckload of fun playing it while it was fresh and new.
I've got my eye on World in Conflict. I enjoyed that game. I'm sad, though, that the expansion doesn't seem to be on Steam...but given the right price, I may pick up the main game (and grab the expansion later, if it ever shows up).
I'm also looking at the Complete Naval Combat Pack, because I'm a gigantic dork.
Is the Mass Effect version on Steam the same as the retail copy in regards to cd keys? I see that it is $30 there and I need to send in my disc and $10 in order to get my key replaced. I would rather pony up $20 more and have it available at all times without hassle. Does it still have securom as well?

Securom is gone so the only drm is steam itself
It should work like most other games on steam where you can download it at any time and available for offline mode

Definately picking up STALKER. Maybe Mass Effect and Crysis Warhead. I might think about the Valve Pack as well, depending on what kind of deal they offer on that.
Hmm I did see a non-CSS page up before that had Mass Effect at $27, now it's back to $30. My guess is they had a new "version" of the store with the reduced prices that they had to roll back due to massive complications.
