I am about to make a few steam purchases, but I would hate to find out the sale started soon after...
It seems like they temporarily rolled out the end of year sale just to test the website. No one was actually able to buy anything, so the end of year sale hasn't officially happened yet. Let's just hope that Bioshock stays at $5.00 US; I'm sure I'll buy other things, but I've always wanted to have a go at Bioshock. It still retails for about $100.00 AUS here in Australia, so getting it for roughly $7.50 AUS is extremely appealing.

Carch god damn it wasn't $5, I saw it and it was roughly $17. I don't want you to live in false hope anymore.
Ever time I see this thread get bumped, I wonder, "Is it now? IS IT NOW!?". Last year I really gorged myself, I think it's what really got me into Steam.
My only consolation is that bumping it with this post may inflict my pain on you.
Looks like 10% on most everything. Anyone found any 50% or 75% off stuff?
Confirmed, looks like the sale is on.
- UK price for Bioshock is £3.49
- Audisurf's dropped half price to £2.99 for all of the six people that haven't bought it yet.

- Civ 4 complete pack at £13.49 (down from £26.99)

- Multiwinia + Darwinia £4.49 (down from £8.99, each on their own is £2.99 down from £5.99)

- Warhammer Complete Pack £16.99 (dwon from £33.98, all individual items are also half price)
Damn they took $10 off fallout 3, just bought that.
$5 off empire total war. Thats not great, but its a good deal for an unreleased game + rome total war. I may pick that up, I am still alittle sore about being burned by Medieval 2 (kinda sucked).
Hmm...buy Fallout 3 at Best Buy for $50 using a gift card, or $40 on Steam and use the GC on something else...
Personally I'd go for the hard copy, but that's mainly because I prefer not requiring internet access for my games where possible. I often find myself without net access, and Steam can be a pain if you forgot to take it offline previously (and sometimes even if you did).
Damn, I'm one of those six people who need to buy audiosurf, think I'll load up on peggle too.
Edit: I'd buy Thief:Deadly shadows if it could run on laptops.

Ok guys quick question. Is there any way that my bro can play on my account, for say TF2, but not use my user name? I trust him not to cheat or anything but i was wondering if there was a way to make like a sub account or something.

You can change your name in the settings page, but that's it.

Cool that should be enough.
Actually now that I look TF2 is only 10 bucks right now so i might just get him his own account and copy.
Hmmm....what to get what to get.....I'm already leaning towards Aquaria and World of Goo. Then there's things like CoD4.
What are games that I should have that people would think me crazy for not having them by now? It wasn't until a few months ago I had my new PC built, so I missed out on alot of stuff over the past few years.
doom2 - 0.99
hl:blueshift - 0.99
hl-of - 0.99
far cry - 7.49
dark messiah M&M - 7.49
stalker:cs - 17.49
coh:gold - 22.49
Dawn of War everything pack - 29.99 (has soulstorm, which is 27 by itself)
ID Superpack - 34.99(50% off)

Anyone played the expansion for M2TW? I'm playing the vanillia one and I forgotten how addictive Total War games are. Is the expansion worth it?
HL: Blue Shift
HL: OpFor
WH40k Dawn of War Everything Pack
for $32. I don't know the WH40k games really but for $10 a piece they can't be too much of a disappointment.
I'm also strongly considering getting WarHO while it's on sale, to load up after I run through everything else I'm getting this season, but buying an MMO requires consideration. This sale should last a few days, right?
Looks like my BB GC will be going towards Fallout and some C&C.

I'll vouch for aquaria; one of the best gaming experiences I had last year. I'm not sure if they ever got around to adding true widescreen support, but even without it was a blast.

Why wouldn't we?
I thought we were promised details by years end 2008... Are they waiting until 11:50 PM on 12/31?
Valve time... End of Year 2008 really means Q2 of 2009.
I thought they promised us news in 2009.

Civ Iv complete pack $24.99-priced down from $50
Mount and Blade $15.00 priced down from $30
I-fluid $5 priced down from $10
Sadly Bioshock is only priced down to $18
Team fortress 2- $10 priced down from $20.
Doom II is a one dollar from $10

How long is this sale lasting?
EDIT: Actually, looks like I can access it but the store's running really slow. Guess the server's getting hammered pretty hard.

X3:TC is more expensive single than it is if you bundle it with X3.
Yeah. I saw that. How odd... It is the only one, that I have seen, that is like that so far.
You might want to get the pack for darwinia and multiwinia.
I can't, I only have a 20€ budget :P
