I am about to make a few steam purchases, but I would hate to find out the sale started soon after...

It seems like they temporarily rolled out the end of year sale just to test the website. No one was actually able to buy anything, so the end of year sale hasn't officially happened yet. Let's just hope that Bioshock stays at $5.00 US; I'm sure I'll buy other things, but I've always wanted to have a go at Bioshock. It still retails for about $100.00 AUS here in Australia, so getting it for roughly $7.50 AUS is extremely appealing. :D

Ever time I see this thread get bumped, I wonder, "Is it now? IS IT NOW!?". Last year I really gorged myself, I think it's what really got me into Steam.

My only consolation is that bumping it with this post may inflict my pain on you.

Confirmed, looks like the sale is on.

    - UK price for Bioshock is £3.49

    - Audisurf's dropped half price to £2.99 for all of the six people that haven't bought it yet.

    - Civ 4 £8.49 (down from £16.99)

    - Civ 4 complete pack at £13.49 (down from £26.99)

    - id Superpack £18.99 (down from £37.99)

    - Dawn of War (everything) pack is at £16.99 (down from £33.98)

    - Defense Grid £10.49 (down from £13.99)

    - Eidos Collectors pack £47.69 (down from £52.99)

    - Jagged Alliance 2 Gold £6.99 (down from £13.99, although personally I've heard the Steam version is buggy, and that it might be better to go with the GOG version)

    - Mount & Blade £12.49 (down from £24.99)

    - Multiwinia + Darwinia £4.49 (down from £8.99, each on their own is £2.99 down from £5.99)

    - Portal £3.49 (down from £13.99)

    - Prince of Persia £18.74 (down from £29.99)

    - Project Aftermath £6.99 (down from £13.99)

    - Stalker: Clear Sky £9.49 (down from £18.99)

    - Shadowgrounds £2.49 (down from £4.99)

    - Shadowgrounds: Survivor £4.49 (down from £8.99)

    - Word of advice: Shadowgrounds complete pack £12:59 (and therefore MORE expensive than getting the other two separately?)

    - Strategy First Complete Pack £38.99 (down from £59.99)

    - Team Fortress 2 £6.99 (down from £13.99)

    - Trackmania United Forever £11.49 (down from £22.99)

    - Trials 2 Second Edition £1.49 (down from £5.99)

    - Ultimate Doom £0.99 (down from £5.99)

    - Unreal Deal Pack £11.49 (down from £22.99)

    - Unreal Tournament 3 £6.99 (don from £13.99)

    - Valve Complete Pack £39.74 (down from £52.99)

    - Warhammer Complete Pack £16.99 (dwon from £33.98, all individual items are also half price)

Damn they took $10 off fallout 3, just bought that.

$5 off empire total war. Thats not great, but its a good deal for an unreleased game + rome total war. I may pick that up, I am still alittle sore about being burned by Medieval 2 (kinda sucked).

How long is this sale lasting?

Personally I'd go for the hard copy, but that's mainly because I prefer not requiring internet access for my games where possible. I often find myself without net access, and Steam can be a pain if you forgot to take it offline previously (and sometimes even if you did).

    HL: Blue Shift
    HL: OpFor
WH40k Dawn of War Everything Pack

for $32. I don't know the WH40k games really but for $10 a piece they can't be too much of a disappointment.

I'm also strongly considering getting WarHO while it's on sale, to load up after I run through everything else I'm getting this season, but buying an MMO requires consideration. This sale should last a few days, right?

Looks like my BB GC will be going towards Fallout and some C&C.
